I got my 2023 GV70 in July and have driven over 6,000 miles. The car is outstanding. I have the 3.5 prestige with everything. It is nearly a perfect vehicle. I have owned a lot of vehicles in my 5 decades of driving and the GV70 is the best I have ever owned. The 3.5 prestige has all leather diamond stitched seats, no sued at all, and a silver grill. Two differences from the one reviewed. Very few things to complain about. I can only think of a couple of vehicles which I would evenly trade for. Maybe a Maybach or McLaren but truly a really great vehicle. Fun to have people come up and ask about the GV70.
Put that bad boy in sport+ and it’s so fun to drive!
How much to buy one?
@@jamesjacob1096 in the USA ? Around 65k for that one and in canada I think around 80k
Thanks a lot, have serious admiration
@@sinjb6206 thanks mate.
This SUV won car of the Year 2022. It is just in its own class.
One love from Nigeria 🇳🇬
The GV70 is absolutely gorgeous. One of the best looking suvs. Though I think the GV80 take the cake. Genesis with their large grill and the dual light set up really created something “extravagant”. The interior looks absolutely stunning. The dash layout. Clean and simple. Nothing over the top, just simplistic and easy to use. The 3D gauge cluster thats pretty unique. When you compare this to its german rivalries you are getting a lot for your money. In a addition to luxury you are getting value that is also stylish. Mercedes, audi and bmw aren’t the only luxury brands.
Got GV80 3.5 prestige for myself ,delivered may 2022. 7 months over 12000km, no complaints at all. It is so good i had to convince the wife to get GV70, the exact one in your review with ultamarine blue leather ,just took delivery 6 days ago!Now i can enjoy both..
Genesis keeps hitting home runs! Design makes sense, ergonomics and symmetry inside and out are winners, reliability is better than average.. Their designs (with radius corners) will look fresh 10+ years from today. All that's missing is the hybrid option.
Facts! If this was a plug in hybrid! It would be the best!
Regular hybrid please. Plug in hybrid are a pain
GV70 only provide ev version in China.
@@yichen6505 Australia has the ev version also
@@alexi21san Not in US yet. It is coming but gas version already released for almost half a year. So I got gas version.
Planning to order one of these soon for my fiancé after going to test drive it … so incredibly impressed by how far Genesis has come in a short time.
Id make sure she has a ring on it before you buy it for her! Haha
Make sure it's in your name too.
Completely gorgeous inside and out, and honestly very well priced. It's definitely tough to beat. The interior is like no other, is minimalist but at the same time packed with features. Love the cluster and round Blindspot detection. I could keep going, Toyota releasing the Crown luxury sedan which doesn't seem luxury at all for 55k....this will kill it as far as features and size.....I'm very impress with Genesis
saw these on the road. they turn my head every single time. Beautiful machines!
Great review guys and a beautiful vehicle. Also note the pricing of the 2.5 Sport Prestige trim at $55-60k is about the same as an Audi Q5/45/Premium Plus with similar stats. The GV70 Advanced trim at $53k provides the most value.
I agree... although I wouldn't mind having 21" wheels I'm just not in love the "golf ball' style rims.
@@Frank-rz1vt I agree! They look like waffles 🧇!!!!
They need to add maps and other options to the instrument cluster screen as well as a digital rearview camera
Their design style is just, it’s so good
Their “design” is completely borrowed from somebody else, another established luxury brand. Lol. These types of compliments for Genesis are weird.
My very first Genesis SUV! Terrific job bro.
Love this car Drew and Mason!
Wow the genesis gv70 is a great vfm luxury car. Keep up the good work.
Nice review keep up the good work Drew and Mason
I’ve been searching for my next vehicle. This Is at the top of my list. I love it. I’ve been an Infiniti loyalist for decades, but the new QX50 disappoints. I’m going with this for 2023🎉
I own a 2007 Infiniti G35 with 85000 miles on it. Except for some internal finishing wearing off (never had that problem on my Hondas), I love the car. Classically good looking, terrific driving road companion. And then Infiniti destroyed the brand, first with its AWFUL new naming/branding scheme and then by gutting the performance and increasing the goofiness coefficient of the appearance of its vehicles. All self-inflicted damage. I will keep my G35 for as long as possible, but never buy another Infiniti. Genesis is the new Infiniti.
@@markprof1107 I agree. I still have my 2014 Q50 and I love that car. It still looks amazing and drives wonderful. The tech is not the greatest, but look past that because there’s so many other things I like about the car. My 2011 G37 was a great too. I wanted a SUV, but the new QX50 just ain’t cutting it for me with front wheel drive and that CVT transmission. That’s why I’m looking at the Genesis GV70. The new Infiniti QX60 is the only nice car Infiniti has in there line up right now in my opinion, but it’s too big for me.
I have one of these and it’s one of the best car purchases I’ve had. It definitely turns heads
You turn heads too.... 😏😏.
@@jjayguy23 bro💀
@@ando2xx BRUHHHHH, lol.
I wish it was a hybrid😢 the gas mileage is not good for this suv! But this and the Volvo xc60 are the best looking in my opinion in its class!
have been in love with the GV70 since the day it was revealed. wishing SO bad it came in a plug-in hybrid. I don’t think the technology is quite there yet to make a fully electric worth it for me. I drive 275 miles one way to visit friends/family at least once a month and if I were to go for an electric vehicle, I’d need at least 400+ mile range on a single charge. When they say the range is 300 miles, I’m afraid that means I’d barely make the trip and that’s without A/C, radio, charging my phone, etc. Even when I arrive, I don’t think the town has any public fast chargers, so I’d have to pay to have a level two installed at my friend’s house so I could charge my car once I got there. All to say, I think the car manufacturers would make so much more money if they could produce more PHEVs. The one thing I love about Genesis is that for the electrified GV70, they for the most part just copy and pasted the GV70 and changed the motor. I hate when brands come out with an “electrified version” of a gas car, change 19000 things, and then call it the same name. No, that would be a brand new car, so give it a brand new name.
Thanks for the great review, as always!
Thank you!
This is the most incredibly beautiful SUV….wow!!!!!!!!!
Just ordered mine, I have been looking for awhile this one hits it out of the park. Lots of options very well laid out in the interior and the outside is bossy
I recently test drove the GV 70 2.5 turbo and Loved it!! I mean compared to the NX 250 it was day and night, less so with the BMW X-3. Problem is, I am having reservations after logging in to owners forums and hearing about transmission problems that are not a.ways easily (or quickly) resolved. The other issue for me is that, for a luxury brand, I don’t think they are well established yet and am concerned about customer service and quality/reliability. I would so Love to buy one but just can’t bring myself to do it at this time. 🤷♂️
I love everything except that the Touchscreen is so far away. Hard to touch when you’re driving, and I prefer touchscreen over a dial.
Boss Looking Vehicle!!
Very refreshing.
Time for me to upgrade my trouble free 2011 sonata to boss status vehicle pretty soon!
I have purchased the 2023 Genesis GV-70 2.5T Sports Prestige and it is an incredibly beautiful and plush SUV. It can get up and go and that front Grill turns heads all day long, yes it's poppin!
IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, IT'S THE BOMB........
How’s the power? 2.5 enough or 3.5 better?
What’s your average mpg in the 2.5T?
I drive these everyday & I’d say 3.5 all the way. Big difference
The seat comment cracked me up "It feels like office chair mesh... you get stuck in it and it's kinda weird." 😆
Question. According to the website I cannot get heat/ventilated seats with 3d digital cockpit display in one package with the 3.5L. How are both options available here in the 2.5L?
At 19:20 I was like how cute he has his puppy with him lol it’s a mic
😂😂
I thought the same! lol
Still surprised you don't get a fully digitized dash on some of the lower trims....
I wish my Calligraphy sound system sounded like this
Can anyone comment on their Genesis dealership experience, including purchase and service. Agree this is a great vehicle, but wondering about the long-term experience.
Great Video guys !! I currently drive a 2020 Tuscon Ultimate which is a great all around car but it's time for an upgrade. After doing my research I've decided on the Genesis 70 series; the question has been do I want the G 2.0T sedan or this GV 2.5T ? After watching this video I'm leaning a lot more towards the GV70. Although we don't get snow in So FL we do get monsoon-like rain so the all wheel drive will come in handy and so will sitting up higher than G.
Time to upgrade from a 2 yr. old suv….nice…I’m still driving my 2009 Honda Accord. Would love to get this GV70, but I never see a base model being sold…all the ones on the lot of dealerships are a few trims above.
Nice review guys. Just had my painless one year concierge service on my 3.5 Sport Prestige. .After a year there is nothing else I would rather have. I actually prefer the 2022 Sport Prestige interior which had red trim with charcoal seats rather than all red. Still impressed with the HUGE difference between comfort mode and Sport/Sport+, one auto journalist called Sport+ "pissed off mode" and I agree. Genesis is really becoming a player in the luxury market. 0-60 is 4.8 with the 3.5t, not 5.4.
I purchased a 2022 GV70 3.5tt Sport/Prestige. $64,000 MSRP. We were sold on the cutting edge design, and supreme reviews and awards. The dealership sales staff sold us on the luxury brand treatment (Lexus/Audi/Mercedes Benz) yet they lack Genesis STAND ALONE locations in most of the USA. The result is when you need service, you are treated like a Hyundai owner (Like we could have purchased 3 Hyundai's for what we paid here). The Concerige Package (3 years with the car) is a joke, the support from the dealerships are a joke, and Genesis Corporate just apologizes and offers a gift card (I'm still waiting- 4 months so far for the offered gift card) for their failings. Overall, the car (when it runs) is EXCELLENT. Overall, the support from the dealership is WOEFULLY LACKING. When I can trade out of the car, I will and I will NEVER purchase another Genesis based on my personal experience. If you want to know the truth about service and support, see the Genesis Owners Forums- They look sexy as heck, but just like fake diamonds, they are shiny, but not worth much.
What do you mean “when it runs”
Are the repair coat similar to the German cars?
Does the sport 450 offer massage front seats?
Hi Car Confections Can You Make The New 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance
Love the bloopers.
Incredible looking car in person
I don't know much about GV 70. How is is the reliability compare to Lexus or Acura?
I feel the top 2.5 T should have a heads up display at $60,000.00 that’s just not right.
Heads up display is annoying AF...
Does GV70 have augmented reality feature built in with the infotainment system ? Great review .
Korean models only unfortunately. I'm hoping it makes it's way here in NA.
Blue interior is out of this world
that isn't quite as expensive as I expected, thanks!
Nice. Please do the new f-pace. 2023. Not many reviews I can find
I would not consider because of poor reliability
Can yall do the 2023 Hyundai Elantra Limited full review??? Please and thank you. @Car Confections
Excellent tennis ball, I mean review!😸
😂😂
I’m in love ❤❤❤
My car brand of choice. I have a 2016 Genesis sedan 3.8 when it was still Hyundai. Only 70,000 miles and runs like a Swiss watch. The Koreans hit it out of the park as far as luxury to value and quality with this brand.
I just purchased a 2023Himalayan Gray sport prestige and the grill isn't blacked out, not sure that's standard
Owned 2 genesis coupe's, 3.8 Track w/64k and the 2.0T has 124k miles and sold them both. Never had a engine, transmission , electric, paint, rust, seat wear issue, both cars where great 1st time sport cars from Hyundai to compete against mustangs and 350z's.
Owned a Kia Stinger, another exceptional car that I sold 2 years ago that is a killer deal and car. I see the Genesis coupe concept on Genesis's website, and I am just waiting to see what a thing of beauty ,and power they will bring at the doorstep of Audi, BWM, and MB without the crazy price tag , horrible reliability, and maintenance drain they put on your wallet.
VAG and MB have been put on notice now for 6 years, all I see is Genesis killing it, with many more genesis g70,g80, g90 along with their new GV lineup on the road, and in my neighborhood garage's where there were once audi's, and bmw's residing instead.
I got mine on June 13th. I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: Mine is red.
Congrats on your new GV70!
Beautiful car drove a sport prestige dealer mark ups are 5 to 10% over msrp in Chicago the advance a modest mid level trim is not available all that are being shipped are top levels the one I drove the sport prestige was 58 k Another dealer same vehicle same trim 62k. I can get a lightly used Porsche Cayenne for that.
It's the perfect size too. Wishing it was also offeres as a hybrid.
There’s will be a all electric version soon
no worry, Genesis offers a hybrid in Korea. time only matters.
I have 2019 awesome car.
I could never own this Prestige trim. I would be off the road all the time looking at the interior how nice it is.
My wife has one. The best!!
Beautiful vehicle
After driving all of the cars in this segment, and up to $100k I purchased this Exact car. My 2nd choice (actually my 1st choice was an Acura MDX Type S) had a deposit on it, but frankly Acura is such a screwed up company I backed out. Traded my 2020 Acura RDX A Spec in. No ADM, paid cash. I get a new car every 2 years, and put a lot of miles on them. 1 main complaint is that the wiper system is the absolute worst, and the blades are the worst in the indicts. Other than that, in 2 months I have put 8K miles on it, 3 long distance drives. the car is flawless. I would have gotten the V6 but they are hard to get in my area and I wanted out of the Acura.
I went the other route and traded my 2.5 Prestige for the MDX Type-S and am very happy. The GV70 was just too small and cramped.
Can you tell me what's screwed up with Acura? I am thinking about the GV70 or an RDX A-Spec Advanced, but haven't owned an Acura before, so would like to know. I don't want opinions about which car...just what you meant by they're a screwed up company. Thank you!
I like it
Finally hide the sensor behind the grille
I love it
I tried to build this car with the 2.5 engine and coukd not get the red interior. All they offer is black or beige.
Dream car😍😍😍
The rear right taillights don’t match up exactly. Surprised no one’s said anything and it’s driving me insane. Lol
The minutes I see the seat adjustment is located under the chair, I am gone. No deal for me.
I see a Genesis on the road and can’t help but turn my head. Only other car doing that are Audis. Gonna have to decide which one is more my personality cause my heart belongs to SR8
Really liked mine but too small for a small family.
Genesis website says the 2023 GV70 does have WIRELESS Apple CarPlay. Could you confirm?
Genesis has extremely nice interiors at the price point. Genesis gv70 interior should be in the gv80. Gv80 interior should be in the upcoming gv90. G80 interior should be in the g90 but just a little nicer.
Shhhhhh dude don’t give ‘em ideas😂
This car as shown is 67k before taxes, not sure how thats "without the price" lol
The audi q5 technically still is a rear wheel drive architecture when it has Quattro. The engine is still longitudinal.
DO you guys have a list of quietest to noisiest cabin? I'm just curious
We don't but we are hoping to make one next year so that we can compare more easily
@@CarConfections which cabin is quieter since y’all driven both, this 2023 GV70 sport prestige or the 2023 Toyota Crown HybridMax? I’m deciding between these two.
@@the_beastboy1 the GV70 sounded quieter than the Crown. But we tested them in different states so we do look forward to testing teb Crown in our local area to verfiy
@@CarConfections which one do you think is overall better between the two packages mentioned this GV70 or the Crown?
Interesting name? That’s a very iconic mountain in the Alps which often covered in… white snow
Cool
And a popular ride at Disneyland!🤣
Genesis put all the fancy options/materials into this SUV, but no wireless apple carplay? I don't understand this.
Wait what so it is true… I don’t know how I feel about that. 😅
I agree, it’s beyond me 😂
Mine works wireless
It’s really gorgeous. But considering it’s competitions in the same price range, I’d rather go for a Mercedes GLC!
I will never purchase another Benz. Had several all with V8’s and the most unreliable POS ever.
What changes from 2021 ?
I went to pick this one up for my wife, red on red, v4 top trim didn’t come with hud? They tried to sell the car at 15k over sticker even after getting them to drop it to 4k over sticker they tried to charge me a ridiculous finance interest rate where at the end of my payments it would of been close to 108k, after walking away they dropped it down but we’re still making close to 20k on tier 1 credit, yeah no thanks I’ll take a a bmw or a merc for that money
It’s an i4 or Inline 4 not a v4 which is an extremely rare engine. Just as an fyi from a stranger vs saying V4 when buying your next car. They will assume you don’t know anything about cars and will charge you more. Good luck with your next car!
Yuck, 4 cylinder engine drone. Looks slow, would have to get the V6.
I don’t want Blacked Out that is getting old. I want a new color option I want Hot Pink grill, Mirrors, green house molding etc lol
Everything about this SUV is well thought-of and many aspects have been added had to have been from customer feedback. The car is perfect on everything except when Mason and Drew mentioned it has NO wireless Apple Carplay. Not sure why their entertainment system could not support this and maybe it was affected by supplier issues due to the pandemic?
The wheel design looks like Eggo Waffles. This definitely is going to compare well with the Lexus RX500H that we're currently waiting for since Nov 2022 to arrive from the factory. We may consider this vehicle as an option but then again, this is a Hyundai in disguise.
Yes I would get bored 2023 Genesis gv70 but I wouldn't get a four-stroke cylinder I would get a 3.5 sport Prestige explosive V6 option because I think that'll drive the bus black kyber option to that's what I heard at least say yes I would get it
Are the rear seats heated and ventilated ?
Just heated in the back
No, not in the 2.5 Sport Prestige but yes in the 3.5. One of the few disappointments. One other is not having wireless connection. Overall love the 2023. I disagree with the reviewer about the feel of the mesh seats. Mine are nothing but comfy.
@@scottkinsloe6470 my biggest disappointment is not having a HUD in this 2.5T only in the 3.5T
I don’t see people driving these ever. So I don’t know where they selling them at. I’m in NC.
Check the Hyundai dealers ...
Genesis makes some great vehicles and I love the GV70 but their lack of proper dealer network makes it a no go for me. I live in rural Ontario and the closest dealer to me is almost to 2 hrs away. Yes they will pick it up but that's a pain in the ass and needlessly cumbersome. I take my pickup into my local dealer for an oil change and wander the lot looking at new vehicles, have a coffee and shoot the shit with the sales rep I bought from (who is now a customer of my business as are most of the mechanics in the shop) and 30 min later I drive away. No body driving my vehicle 2 hrs or no one loading and unloading it off a flat bed. When you take the people out of the equation you take the pleasure and the loyalty out of the equation. I'm sure some bean counters somewhere figured this minimal dealer network is more efficient but to me it guaranties I won't ever buy one.
Wait for the GV90.
作为nx450h+车主很喜欢gv70;只是缺少混动
This car is almost perfect. I wish it came with HUD.
The 3.5t sport prestige package has HUD
@@hiramjhernandez6986 I know, but I don't think that's what he is reviewing. Sorry this was 5 months ago. The 2.5 does not have a hud. Ended up buying an Acura RDX A-Spec Advance. Fully loaded with HUD. Pretty happy
There's no wireless Apple/Android car play. That's a zonk for me.
Are the Mesh seats new for 23? I think it looks terrible and ruins a perfectly nice leather seat.
They're not new but it's only on this one specific version which we had never tested out before
To each their own, but I personally love the mesh inserts. They look awesome in person, and they're supposed to be grippy and keep the occupants in place since this is supposed to be a "sport" model. Everyone has done "alcantara" already, so I love that Genesis has tried something new by going with mesh!
It just amazes me that reviewers try to race (0-60) etc. with an SUV (aka station wagon). Do you really think that's important for a vehicle that's going to be used to take the kids to school and run to the grocery store ? Yea baby, watch me burn rubber leaving the costco.
And grill
Nice car, typical Hyundai always has a nice interior, designed by Italians. But that 2.olTurbo was a no go for me at the price I was willing to pay.
This car comes with wifi as well
Driving a 2023 service loaner because my 2019 has been in the shop for three weeks for a sensor issue. The 23 has the same awful highway drone at certain speeds, the LKA is twitchy, and the "smart" cruise occasionally decides to phantom brake. Genesis is not in the same league as Lexus-Acura-Germans.
The backwards tach would drive me nuts
Windmill wheels
SUV's are in, sedans are out.
What is it with this in/out thing. People should buy based on their needs, not based on what the Jones's are doing. Be your own man!
Actually 2023 Genesis GV70 Elite is a little korean Bentley for the real price of german Porsche Macan. Attention to the details is fantastic. Interior is on par with classic Mercedes models, one only needs to add appropriate fraigrance. But my choice is a new Lexus NX350 nevertheless because of resell price afterwords. Maybe in next generation I taste dogeaters...
You’d rather have a dressed up rav4 than a true unique luxury car? 😂
Suckers born every minute
@@naveenthemachine Lexus has proven resale value and longevity. Too early to tell for Genesis.
Why not just get a Porsche Macan?
I would take the gv 60 over this
