I love how you start this game without thinking about what the warframes really are and the game tells you bit by bit about the grim background of your "armors"
Right. What I thought I knew was not entirely correct.
It was kinda of a grim idea that each of our warframes are like Umbra (They just have no memory at all)
There's always been a wondering about the true nature of the warframes. With Alad V and Valkyr, it all but confirmed that the frames were alive in some form at least. How can a machine be tortured to insanity?
@@kielajellopecjo2153kinda, sorta. It's a bit hazy on what the game's narrative towards cloning but it seems, for the most part, a perfectly reconstructed duplicate is the same as the original.
Despite umbra technically dying in the start of the mission, a new version with all the same memories and specifications was built.... So basically the same?
In much the same way I suppose are other Warframes. They are all duplicates of an original infested design. But, unlike umbra, they eventually had their madness settled by a tenno, and those designs were remade as passive frames for tenno use.
Though each frame certainly had their "umbra" moment I'm sure.
That being said ... I'm curious how Warframe 1999 will recontextualize things. Many thoughts Excalibur umbra was the first one, but now it seems more likely he was not. And making that dax solider into umbra was a way to basically torture him, to never give him a tenno, to live lifetimes of the same painful memory playing on loop.
@@rocovailo2862 if I’ve got my facts straight, there were two “generations” of frames during the orokin era. First(?) generation was like the frames we see in the leverian; sane and autonomous with no Tenno involved. The other was rabid and insane, and couldn’t be used until the Tenno transference process. The frames we use in the modern day are home-grown infested tissue replicas of the first and second gen warframes - no mind whatsoever.
Still unsure on how our Umbra retains his mind when we rebuild him but others like limbo don’t. Maybe it’s being stitched together by helminth versus reformed via a blueprint? Not sure on that front.
Imagine how the about 5 years wait between this amd the new war that resolved this felt
It. Was. Agony. I still shiver at the sight of the color purple...
It was pure pain. I had to go through the five stages of grief because of space mom.
It was hell but the pay off was glorious. I just hope the current story line doesn't take as long to complete. Been playing this game since 2015.
Yeah it was incredably painful...
It was extremely painful. Id say the New Wait was definitely the worst in this game's history. It was a really bad time for creators and the community due to the lack of content.
Ballas's lines has some of the best writing in the narrative quests IMO. "Even I makes mistakes like you" is one of the best double entendre's to be written in to his character. Saying on the surface level that he can make mistakes just like umbra, and hiding his line that he "makes mistakes" like umbra is such a crazy way of introducing his character as an intelligent narcissist, manipulator, antagonist, and antithesis to the tenno as a character. His design is amazing IMO because he represents man in its most depraved, desperate, and broken form hiding behind a perfect golden image of his own hubris.
Weakness corrupts, and absolute weakness corrupts absolutely...
@@jacobwiren8142 The same applies to power. "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Can't believe i am quoting MegamanXD in a Warframe video comment section, but that quote links so well to Ballas. He truly is Warframe's "Pharaoh Man" (LOL if you know about future quests i won't spoil here)
@@Jukantos Nietzsche would dispute that claim. Powerful people are strong enough to change and improve. A weak person cannot. Even if a weak person is given power, weakness has already corrupted them...
@@jacobwiren8142 it depends on your definition of strength, strength in virtues, discipline, self reflection, patience, honor, mercy
shame they buried ballas with the horrible new war storyline. he was perfect up to that point.
Ballas' dialog during the Chimera Prologue is still to this day one of the most interesting pieces of writing this game has to offer, many people gloss over his speech as though its meaningless but there is just.... SO MUCH inforamation packed into what he says.
And then you find out all of it was to trick us into thinking he is no longer a threat so he could take over
So many players were earnestly swayed by this speech. Giving us power in the form of the Paracesis. Making himself look like some down-trod, would-be hero. Playing to our ego by correlating our supposed goals to his own. It really showcases how devious and manipulative Ballas is.
@@NeedsContent
Plus the fact you are forced to use the Paracesis coming up to your final fight with Ballas and then uses it to stab the Lotus makes it even worse lol
"And it was not their force of will - not their Void devilry - not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing-- And take away its pain."
Some of the most important lines spoken in the game. Perhaps the entire thesis of the Tenno. It moves me every time I think of them.
It really highlights exactly how utterly depraved and insane Orokin culture is that.... Basic human empathy is the super power the Tenno have that is utterly alien to the Orokin.
Ball-ass is truly a villain

HAHAHAHAHAH
The Warfames... All of them.... Ballas has done much in his time, some of it callus, much of it cruel, all of it to serve his own ends. He's resourceful, innovative, and ambitious. He hid his betrayal to his race, survived the fall of the empire, existed an age into the Tenno reawakening, and when his life finally left him at the hands of his own mockery of a Frame he created from his own vindictive sense of cruelty, his glory is stolen from him by the broken shadow of a love long dead. And now, his secrets are all laid before the Orokin's greatest failure, the Sentients. We've moved our stones. It is the Sentient's turn now, with Ballas fully in their corner. Except for this game of Komi, the outcome is the fate of the Sol system.
Few things
Dax are a class of soldier made to protect the Orokin. They are not allowed to raise a hand against Orokin, they're physically unable. Thus why Umbra couldn't kill Ballas alone cause he used to be a Dax and thus why Teshin couldnt hurt the Queens.
Sentients were created by the Orokin to terraform the Tau system and make it habitable for the Orokin, but the Sentients realized that the Orokin would bring ruin to the Tau system just as they had the Sol System. So the Sentients turned on them. They could manipulate machinery and electronics perfectly and nothing would prevent them from doing so, so the Orokin had to make biological weapons and machines. Things made of flesh and blood. This is why they made the Infestation, and used it to make Warframes: People turned into living weapons. But with their minds in tact they too turned against the Orokin. Thats why the Orokin needed the Tenno to control them. Eventually, the Tenno betrayed the Orokin too. The Tower in Cetus is also actually made of flesh too and the people of Cetus think it has its own consciousness as well.
Sentients adapt to damage the more you throw it at them and gain increasing resistance against it. You can use Void damage (your amp) to reset their resistance since Void is poison to them.
You've officially joined the "did this quest with the mote amp and hated every second fighting umbra" club. Welcome. I hated it so much lol
So glad I took the time to craft a good amp before I played this quest
@@thimovijfschaft3271 I didn't know what was coming lol I was doing the quests back to back cause the story was getting good
wait you can craft different amps?
@christiankirby8092 yes. You get standing with the quills on cetus and vox Solaris on fortuna. From there, you can buy parts, (brace, prism, and scaffold) using the standing to make your own amp. For a starter I'd recommend a 223 (shwaak prism, shraksun scaffold, and lohrin brace)
I also had made a better amp before this fight watched another UA-camr on vanilla. the struggle is real but not for me.thankfully
Fun fact; every modern warframe you see (with few exceptions, aka the dagath in your dojo and umbra) are made without the use of human bodies. They are copies of the original blueprint, yes, but the human is substituted directly to intested materials.
Only orokin era frames are built consistently with humans
Khora prime trailer suggests she was a human and was transformed from ballas’ mourning for his dead lover.
@@zerotodona1495 'canon' frames typically originate from the orokin era.
@@zerotodona1495 that would be Saryn no ? I belive he created it as a tribute for margulis
Here's a tip for the necramech building: there are pillars scattered around the open world on deimos that are activated by the operator's void beam/amp. These pillars vary depending on the symbol above them for example killing nearby infested with voidbeam/amp or with a necramech found in the wild can make pillars drop random materials like ores, gems or fish parts.
Been playing WF for about 5 years. I am thoroughly enjoying your journey through the main quests. Excal was my starter as well and I use Umbra for every new main story quest that gets released for my own continuity purposes. I’m glad to see you enjoying the game and love your content. Excited for when you get to The New War and Whispers in the Walls
Wow you found those umbra fragments quick, they took me an embarrassingly long time to find on my first go
After the Sacrifice quest I have unironically started to care a bit more about how my warframes look, more about survival in battle even if you can just respawn. I have changed the way I looked at what I thought was simply the armour I “wear”, I kind of started respecting them if you know what I mean. And I like that, this gave so much more meaning to the game.
Ballas's kind, the Orokin, were the original masters of the Tenno. They're the bodyless slavers you heard of in The War Within. Instead of dying, they'd just use Kuva to transmit themselves into a new young slave body, breaking its mind and replacing it. That's what the grineer queen tried to do to YOU in The War Within. They were immortal, parasitic emperors.
That is ignoring that the leaders of the Orokin were also immortal, in the sense that they literally could not be killed. They have documented instance of their bodies being killed, and they just laughed and revived themselves, only to sentence the offender right after he gave up seeing the futility of his actions
@@Skelethin Yeah in Ordis's origin story, i remember that. I wonder how they actually pulled that off. Using the void / eternalism to bring themselves back the same way we did? Is THAT what we truly stole from them? Like genuinely, how would they have pulled that off but still have been able to be taken out for good during the Naga Drum Uprising when the Tenno turned on the Orokin?
Congratulations, you're in the endgame of the story- it's essentially like when Witch Queen released but for Warframe. And it's free. If you care to read, I'll go on to nerdsplain some stuff about the Paracesis, Umbra as a warframe and some more lore
Notably about the Paracesis, it's a special case for leveling; every forma you apply gives it another two maximum levels, with the limit to levels, staring capacity and mastery gained being 40. It's the same thing for "nemesis" weapons, obtained from kuva liches and sisters of parvos, and necramechs.
Notably, as well, Excalibur Umbra is the closest almost anyone outside of China will get to owning Excalibur Prime. When Warframe was new, DE were in dire monetary straits and sold Excalibur, Skana and Lato prime in a special real money-only supporter package, and that hasn't been available since, like, 2014. China, though, has "Excalibur Umbra Prime", which has no distinct differences to what we have. For all intents and purposes, Umbra is just a better Excalibur. His radial blind is altered to be more effective against Sentients and when you're in operator mode, Umbra will wander and fight independently. It's actually pretty neat. He also comes with the Skiajati (even i have no idea how to pronounce it) nikana, which has a special effect that turns you invisible for a few seconds after hitting a finisher attack. Lastly, by completing The Sacrifice, you unlocked the Umbral mods. They're like Prime mods, being mods with higher capacity cost and resource requirements to upgrade, as well as having higher values- but for every mod of the Umbral set equipped, the stats increase. It includes health and armor as well as ability strength for Warframes, and for melee, you get melee damage and crit chance.
Lore wise, since you asked, Ballas is an Orokin- a human, but heavily augmented with whatever vain fashion is "in" at the time. In fact, there aren't even any aliens in Warframe. It's either humans evolved, animals mutated or things created by humans at some point. The only truly "alien" things are anything born from The Void, including the Man in the Wall ("Wally") and enemies you'll meet in the Whispers in the Walls quest. And... Sentinels i guess? The lore tab for them says something along the lines of "yeah we don't know wtf these are but we found em somewhere". So that's neat.
IIRC Sentinels are Sentient drones that for some unexplained reason aren't controlled by Hunhow/whoever else.
@@GarborM i thought they were just flying robots

@@benw7616also the normal polarity umbra has umbral formas for the umbral mods so...
At least unless he plans to stay on a fissure on steel path more than some hours a full umbral excal works well.
Congratulations on finally getting Umbra, my personal favorite Frame and who I main. His stats are above base Excalibur's, equal to that of the now long impossible to obtain Prime version. On top of that, he has a passive Sentience that lets him continue to fight too while you're in Operator mode. However, there is unfortunately a bug in the coding that DE just refuse to fix, which causes any buffs applied to him to cancel once you use Transference, which makes a lot of meta builds impossible for Umbra. Thankfully i doubt you'll be using any meta builds considering how much goes into them, so the only true downside to Umbra for you is not being that great for stealth. But if you're trying to be stealthy, you'd be better off getting a stealth Frame like Ivara anyway to use specifically for stealth missions. So realistically you get nothing but upsides here.
excliber umbrella can fight on his own if you live your warframe.
Orokin refers to this universes versions of humans. This is why Hunhow calls Alad V an Orokin in the Natah quest. the Orokin empire refers the higher ruling class of humans like Ballas, most distinguishable with the elongated arm and golden inlays (body modding was seen as the popular fashion trend for high class individuals.)
not really. Corpus are still human, the orokin were the empire that ruled the origin system. It's just that Salad V over here is just as much of a cunt as an orokin, since he (for a long time) was the cause of every single problem and operation we had
Orokin is used in two different ways in warframe, its simultaneously used for the word Human but is more commonly used to refer to those of high standing in the Orokin Empire. Hunhow refers to Alad V as an Orokin because he didn't understand that the Orokin had been completely destroyed at the time. And thought that Alad was one of them.
@@TabbyVeeNO Orokin is NOT used interchangeably with human but in reference solely to the Orokin social class, the elite rulers of the Orokin empire and an evolution of humanity to immortal intelligent beings.
Alas V and the grineer queens are both referred to as Orokin because their minds are and they both originated from ‘Orokin’ bodies like Ballas, living on through weaker grineer and corpus bodies through the process of continuity after their originals were destroyed.
The ONLY true Orokin we see in warframe in the flesh (original body) is Executor Ballas (also the highest ranking Orokin we currently know of), with other frequently referenced ones being Executor Tuvul, Albrecht Entrati and the glassmaker.
Humans in warframe from the common people right the way up to Orokin Archimedeans like Suda, Margulis and Yonta are NOT OROKIN, only human members of the Orokin empire. The Orokin are ONLY the highest social order of the empire, the 7 Executors, the Entratis, the Emperors themselves and other elites.
@@TabbyVee Damn bro I guess you triggered someone with that one
@@finol6127 the 7 and executors are not the same. the 7 are the emperors and we've only seen 3 executors that you mentioned
I love how captivated you were, no memeing just awestruck. The Orokin were the highest cast in the olden days and they are 'beyond' normal humans and transference plays a big role...
Right now you can do a limited time mission for the excalibur dex skin in case you want some more drip
I diddd ittt
I hope the story isn't confusing you. Balas is an Orokin, the ruling class of the Orokin Empire, an Orokin Executor at that (Executors are among if not the highest ranking citizens of the Empire). The Orokin made the sentients to colonize the Tau system but rebelled against them instead. The sentients are formidable as they are very adaptive and can control other mechanical technologies the Orokin have (As they are almost the same technology). The Orokin then used the infested as a weapon instead which are more organic. One of those are made by Ballas, the Warframes, which are engineered infested humans (who volunteered or not).
The first warfarmes are the infested humans having their original minds but later rebelled to the Orokin as well. With that the Orokin discovered that they can use the Tenno to control the Warframes through transference (this is a secret). Balas betrayed the Orokin empire because of his resentement due to what happened to Margulis, her lover. He rebelled by telling Hunhow (leader of the sentients of that time) the secret of the Tenno.
Balas is a complicated tragic character/ villain, as he is instrumental to the downfall of the Orokin Empire, which not benevolent and are low key evil as a whole, but had very sad motivations.
Okay, tha clears things up😅thanksss💜
for love he destroyed an empire, for revenge he'll take over what's left!
@@DaRealLloydyAnd you'll find out more in the new war quest, i hope you are enjoying the story quests man. They really do get better, especially new war.

Basically
Orokin: super advanced humans
Tenno: special humans. All Warframes are like umbra with no burning memories, the tenno merely tame them.
Grineer: human clones
Infestation: old orokin bioweapon, a strain of if it was used to make Warframes from humans.
Sentients: self replicating robots that turned against the orokin after gaining sentience, hence why they build the Warframes.
(Prime Warframes are the original frames lorewise, with normal ones being copies)

Fun fact, this quest can be replayed and so whenever I'm not another quest I swap back over to this one, where I've replayed it up to the point where Ordis is gone. Honestly the best mute button I could have asked for.
@Lloydy I know you have many questions, but hold on to them till you finish the story. All will be revealed ( somewhat ), watching lore videos or even watching a new player exp the game ( like im doing now ) fills in lots of blanks and having the cut scenes in a 30min video is also kinda nice.
Rewatching this quest, I just realized that The Man in the Wall was leading you to that place to watch the new Ballas do his monologue.
Also, me when I first saw this: Ballas, isn't it a little too convenient that you're giving me a Sentient slaying weapon right now? Thanks for the free Heavy Blade tho
Not sure if you noticed it, since its not in the video, but Umbra is fully autonomous. They can act and fight on their own even if you are outside as the operator.
Naa, I never saw it when I was playinn
Just a very important tip with the New War (Jaw Dropping Quest) coming up - Make sure you have both your Railjack and your Necramech decently upgraded first. It can be *very* frustrating if they are "naked"
PLEASE:
Before you start the New War Quest (if you haven't done that yet):
Level up your Necramech to at LEAST level 10, to unlock all of the abilities.
The quest takes about 2-5 hours. Grab any drinks you need.
Make sure you use the bathroom first.
SLOWLY comprehend new mechanics, or else you might hit a wall.
Take in literally EVERYTHING. The maps, the funky mechanics, and any important tricks.
The Paracesis is a big, heavy sword, "designed" to ravage sentients, in case that wasn't obvious. Try to craft and use it as so. (YES, better options exist, but.... it's free and looks cool)
After 1000 ducats id not exactly call it free
i remember this quest made me tear a little for umbra and his son...
Just as a little tip that would've helped you. The crouch that the operator does is immune to all damage and is basically a cleanse, meaning using it to avoid damage will keep you alive.
Fuck yes. Now... Now you're getting to the good part.
To explain a little bit of what you just saw:
- orokin are the original powerful humans. They live forever by constantly moving from body to body. Orokin have blue skin and a long right arm simply to show their power. But there are also many normal, mortal humans that live in a lower cast to the orokin. The dax is just one group of militant humans that are personal soldiers for the orokin.
- ballas became disinterested in the orokin after his original lover, Margulis, died.
- he then fell in love again with Natah. Natah pretended to be Margulis. And she later also pretended to be the Lotus. They are all 1 in the same at this point.
- he then betrayed the orokin during the old war and started sending those messages to Hunhow.
- A dax soldier found out about this and tried to report it. But before he even could try, ballas caught him and infected him with the gray strain (the actual name of the infected virus). This then caused him to mutate into a "living warframe" called umbras.
- Ballas was the original orokin who came up with the warframes to help fight in the old war against the sentients.
- The tenno are survivors of the zariman 10 zero and gained void powers and transference because of it which you learn about more later.
- the orokin rescued the tenno from the ship when it came back from the void, and only the children survived.
- so ballas had crested the warframes for the tenno to use. But none of them were living. Until he created umbra, where he forced a living person, the dax to be mutated by the gray strain to become a warframe. But of course he still had memories and still hated ballas.
- so in this quest, you helped the umbra, the person inside, overcome his guilt and pain, and kill ballas.
- but along came Natah (who had pretended to be the lotus because she ligit did love you and did want to be a mother) and who also pretended to be margulis to trick Ballas.
- natah then resurrected ballas, but horribly mutated and now half sentient. To ruin his "glorious orokin self". The reason his eye was glowing was because the sentients where watching. So he walks around the room slowly building a sword for you to kill the sentients with.
And there you go
Ah yes, The Sacrifice. The Greatest Warframe Story Quest.
Its a bit funny in the beginning when youre listening to the lotus voice replays, but the immersion is broken with constant messages from trade chat
Bruuhhh I just finished this story line this past weekend. I really enjoyed it. Still a little confused but it was pretty dope. Umbra Excalibur is pretty sleek
Dude not even a comment at the end 😢. Btw amazing quest, music, lore everything giving goosebumps (I was hoping for you to play this on live actually but ok). And you are soooo lucky to play these quests one after the other, back in the days we had to wait years in between quests. Now you just need The New War, which completes the cinematic trilogy of this arc, and then you can start the new one with The whispers in the wall (amazing stuff) that dropped last year, and this year we should get the next one. At this speed you should get on par with the story before that drops 😊
Sorry for no comment😅, I loved this quest. I just wanted to make it more cinematic, I guess ahah
this quest made me cry.. the music the story telling the build up to the moment thy tell you a warframe is not just a pice of armor.. it was a purson with a life feelings.. it loved cared for others and then.. all was taken away from them. I like to quote it as follows.. "To become a warframe is to lose one self. To only serve in name of the Orokin empire" Then thy turned on ther formar creators and where put to grave. The missing key to make it all work out for the orokin? Understanding.. humanity.. emotions. The orokin did not have or rather.. did not care for them thy see only one thing a bio weapon ment and bred for war. But at what cost.. In the end the only frame that walks around and fights by your side is Umbra why is this? Well it is simple and sad if you think about it. All frames where humans with emotions turned into a warframe all traces of human life burned away leaving a husk to control to be commanded. Umbra is still there even if it is a little. (For the sake of argument yea yea we craft frames so how would memmory be brought over from materials?) bro its warframe.. SPACENINJAS?! i dont know how.
The sacrifice is one of the most well made quest lines in warframe. Very beautiful story telling.
20:15 the quick answer is
the orokin are humans, however the ones with blue skin (like ballas and the ones seen in void portraits) are orokin of higher status and are modified as blue skin hues were seen as a sign of royalty. the think of it like a futuristic fashion trend/fad. he’s literally blue because he wants to be
so basically he got the blues cause he chose too? 🤔 golly didnt know bro wanted to be sad 24/7
Love your videos man! Forreal sat down yesterday and watched all of your videos fully and absolutely loved it! Great editing and great commentary with perfect humor. Love you man!
💜
There’s a story behind ordis (I haven’t figured out yet how to unlock it). You might look up his lore and see why he hates the orokin. Ordis is an amazing dude.
Great Quest, New War is sad, But its got a good mix of other emotions that it is really good. Cant wait to see you play it!
On the question of humans:
Ballas and the rest of the Orokin are augmented humans, they have engineered themselves to what they think of as aesthetic perfection. Gold and ivory, the colors of the divine.
These "golden" men and women are the top tier of Orokin society. Quasi immortal rulers whose tech and science are beyond mere mortals and rely on a elite force of loyal super soldiers to enforce their rule.
The Orokin purposefully keep the tech level of normal humans as low as possible, to curtail any form of uprising. Hence any functioning Orokin tech is of immense value in Warframe's current age.
The "silver" Corpus are composed of regular humans would provided a "middle management" caste of the Orokin Empire that would tend to clerical work and more intellectual duties, and were tolerated as long their internal machinations would not surpass their station.
The "bronze" Grineer were a workforce of clones, doing most jobs that require hard labour. They were breed infertile and of low intellect. The original templates are lost, so the Grineer have to rely on cloning of clones at an industrial scale, which is why all of them are afflicted degenerative gene defects.
Many humans of low-born status would also perform back-braking labour, with little to no advancement opportunities (like Parvos Granum's people before he founded the Corpus).
Gold, silver and bronze are the colors of "Plato's Republic". Needless to say, the Orokin in their moral degeneracy are a far cry from Plato's ideal of a philosopher king.
Congratulations on taking a step on endgame story...
fun simple tip if you want to complete the codex for both simulacrum and completion's sake, if you go to a dojo the tenno lab has a sentinel called helios (after the dojo completes the research) , it automatically scans objects and enemies granting you have scanners in your gear wheel
as for scanners, remember the annoying simaris task you can get a simaris scanner and an upgrade where it has unlimited charges
helios wont scan quest scan targets but everything else will be
watching you made me decide to do my own warframe playthrough

You've found Umbra. I feel as though you'll get along swimmingly
So tell me devil. Do you understand what must be done?
An amazing video again today keep up the progress.
Definitely recommend building the paracesis asap despite the fact it is quite costly to build requiring 1000 ducats and 5 eidolon shards!!
YYEESS FINALLY ive been waiting for you to get to this point, its one of my fav missions (quest)
You're in the story telling big leagues now. This is when DE really started hitting their strides and it's still getting better
I can't recommend highly enough that you take some time to get yourself a better amp! Just about anything you can build from Cetus/Fortuna would be better than the Mote they give you(but you should fully gild and level it first).
It’s crazy how you haven’t spent a single penny on this game and you’ve experienced peak content all for free
Hey @Lloydy just a heads up, craft the Paracesis and go looking for an "Anomaly" in the highest level railjack missions in the Veil Proxima. You'll know where to use it when you find it.
And now you found out Ballas used humans to turn into warframes
Umbra is a special case tho, most after being turned into warframes could only obey commands and had basic reflexes, but he kept his grudge and personality, and iirc he was built differently
This was all before the tenno btw, the creation of warframes (yes they first functioned without pilots, but it was a poor performance)
And if you ever wonder why Ballas is blue, that was Orokin fashion for aristocrats and high society, most Orokin look like normal humans
Slight spoiler, but the "Hunhow" Ballas is addresing to in those journals is the father/leader of the sentients, which , you guessed it, were also created by the orokin

Every single race in Warframe is Human just, ya know, different.
The only thing in WF that isn't human or created by humans is The Man in the Wall.
@@godzelda123 and i guess the flood isnt exactly human either.
Funfact: The true origion of umbra is actually tied to the china release of Warframe
It was a different version and maintaned by a different company and if I remember correctly umbra was meant to be exclusive there. But it turned out the company maintaining the china version wasn't doing their job correctly, which lead to them removing the exclusivity of umbra. The sacrifice as a story came with his release in the global version. Nova Umbral made a great video about it.

Just a heads up because you're probably going to dive right in:
The new war will either need to be divided into multiple videos, or one long video. It's the first quest that warns you up front that it is *long*, and locks you out of normal gameplay. I do hope you enjoy it though, it was so worth the long wait.
This hits harder the second time. I'm literally crying. ;_;
Can't wait to see your reaction to the new war quest.
about to start it soon
To hear space mom's side, do the Ropalolyst fight and the Orphix game mode in Railjack :)
By the way, if you need something to fill the silence/not sure what to say, explaining your thoughts on what you think is happening or just recapping what has happened so far is usually a good way of doing so. I enjoy your videos but your thoughts are the most intriguing part :)
ordis turned into glados
Love how he was speechless
Lloydy won't suffer what we all suffer when barely starting the adventure, waiting for years for the next one and seeing how the story continued. At least you won't suffer the wait. HAHAH I can't wait to see your reaction to the latest adventures that are out and the one that's coming this March 27th. XDdd
This is a sad story, Ball @ss is certainly wicked, he made a man lose his humanity and kill his beloved son. This story however add more substance to the warframes lore though because they were referred as infested puppets dangling in tenno's hands when in reality its more of a sinergy/deep undertanding between the tenno and the warrior these frames were based on, a conversation that takes place through void transference energy, that is great storytelling. Keep it up lloyd, Nice vid.
And down the rabbit hole you goooo !!!!
Hey Kiddo, it's just getting started, but first. Congratulations on finally learning the truth of the Warframes and what they really are, former humans twisted and broken and made into unkillable, unstoppable war machines.
This game is great and the lore is incredibly well written.
Here's some more Spoiler free lore tidbits:
Ballas when first seen is 100% Orokin. Orokin are basically human minds (their consciousness) inside artificial bodies, hence the blue skin, that have a lot of the same biological functions but none of the weaknesses of being human. When Ballas is shown at the end he is now partially Sentient (biological machine).
Excalibur Umbra was a Dax, like Teshin Dax, he was a forcibly loyal soldier of the Orokin and when he found out Ballas was doing something shady he got caught and was then infected with the virus that turned him into Umbra.
When you "craft" a Warframe in the Foundry you are actually feeding the ingredients and bio data to that infested glowing red part of your ship called the Helminth and THAT is what is actually creating the Warframe, exactly like it did for the Orokin.
The Old War literally started because after the Sentients created the perfect world they had the most obvious realization ever:
"hey, didn't the humans destroy their own planet?"
"Yea"
"So if we bring them here aren't they just gonna destroy this one too?"
"Ohhhh, you're right! DEATH TO HUMANS!"
Lloydy, is out here outta no where, like a smooth criminal
😂😊
xD@@DaRealLloydy
Yes, Ballas and the Orokin are "human humans" like, the humans on earth today, except after we discovered the void, it jumpstarted humanity's progress by unfathomable leaps and bounds - immortality, intergalactic travel, science that looks like magic for us today. Prolonged lives by the immortality practice of Continuity lead to decadence, and arrogance. Enough lifetimes and the staleness of basic human physiology became bland, dull, boring. So they altered it. Made it better. Enhanced it. And they found beauty in asymmetry, having made their worlds perfect, they made themselves more perfect through asymmetry and human experimentation. THAT is why Ballas is blue, has a long arm, and is able to speak to you psychically. He's a genetically modified orokin. A true GMO.
Warframe is the story of GMOs. :D
Yes ballas and all orokin are humans. The reason ballas looks like that is because orokin of high standing got extreme body modification surgery to show their high status and wealth.
Also the "guy" laughing at you and stealing your look is "the man in the wall" a void entity or perhaps a personification of the void itself, its the one that you let out when doing chains of harrow and the one who gave you your void powers. Also the community refers to him as "wally" because saying the man in wall every time is annoying
So uuuuh, yeah.... our warframes arent robots, but metal casings with people that have been Infested stuffed inside thats laid slave to our space magic. Let that sink in.
No metal casings. Just people mutated into biomechanical monsters with the infestation. Organs interlinked, skin hard like metal.
No. Not quite. All warframes are essentially lab grown infested flesh and bone hardened into armor and imbued with specific abilities meant to channel void energy. Ballas did not like that we could use the frames while they couldn't. So he went to the original orokin warriors and selected their most decorated and respected. He infected him and allowed it to twist and mold him through his will into a better version of the most feared warframe, Excalibur. Then imbued what was left of him with only the memory of killing his son with his own hands and sending him through the void to hunt and kill hunhow, margulis, and the tenno.
It really is a shame that de had not done more with the umbra platform in terms of other frames. Each of these frames could easily be a small content drop in between bigger updates adding new frames, new versions of powers, new versions of weapons, and depth and story. Doesnt have to be every frame. Rhino, frost, mag, volt, and mesa I think would be sick.
@@justinreid7459 I disagree on the second paragraph. I think a lot of motivation for the Umbra frame to be Excalibur is due to most players wanting to get Excalibur Prime and being unable to. DE can't give players Excalibur Prime without breaking the contract made with players who are founder supporters. Also, just adding a new Umbra frame every now and then? is that not just the same thing as primes at that point?
@@monkaeyes3417 i know why they did it. But they really have not done all they can with the really fantastic introduction of the umbra into the game. And no not like primes. Sure they would strength wise be strong like primes. But the bigger part would be each umbras story and history. Remember to be an umbra, it's not an inanimate thing anymore. It has a living breathing being inside of it making it unique. I believe it to be untapped story potential. And the ability to have the frame work with you on missions as the operator or voidrig, etc is such a fun game play mechanic that could be explored
Thousands of hours playing warframe and still, here i am lol watching a playthrough of a quest i did years ago, it was a nice playthrough btw but i just find it funny
Oh and nice fashon man, hope you're enjoying the grindfest and dont forget to do the minigame for the 11th anniversary ;) you get a free color palet and a glyph
Kind of interesting that it was the lotus who ended umbra till we came along.
History of Orokin is they were an Advance alien race they kept on harvesting resources till all planets crumbled from it. They came across earth conquered saw how useful they where as slave, that who the Tenno are. Then they sent us to explore more planets for them to conquer but we saw Naw and the Old War began
Not alien. Human. But more technologically advanced
This quest felt too human to me. A powerful void being should have higher priorities thab another mouth to feed.
Ballas is a very confusing character written beautifully if payed attention enough. Story may have to be replayed to well..understand the story. It’ll all fall together soon.
16 orokin catalysts!? Ive got like 4 Kuva/Tenet weapons waiting for blueprints to finish to get powered up lol.
really fw your videos. as a long time player of WF, it's nice seeing other new players actually coming this far and enjoying the game like how I did when I first started.
Yeah alot of new players I see don't get this far. So this is really fun to watch
@@Arniox exactly
Bro I love your series and your reactions to the game! Please keep posting ❤
😊
you can color your orbiter
Idk if yy9u noticed or have been told but with umbra you cna use the oppwrator and umbra will go into a sort of auto pilot where as others will feeeze he will start running around and fighting
There we go!! You finally got yourself a nikana!! And in my opinion the most unique one, Skiajati. (The sword).
Also, about that: be sure to log into warframe during the aniversary event!!
During the next few weeks you can do the alerts to get the dex items!!
Those are items usually only available during warframe's aniversary, for free
And, march 27th, you need to log in. March 28th they'll be giving the Dex Nikana for the first time, for completely free!! Dont miss out on this one
24:35 Truly a warframe that can knock you out.
warframes are like in simple terms augmented humans with the virus to be made for war as frames with specific mutations
Btw if you ever get a 75% discount what i would do is get the minimum of 93 plat (requirement) and buy the necramech (go voidrig big dps and much more useful since it has an invincible move)
You may have remedied this during the video, but I'm still within the first few minutes and I realized you still don't have a sentinel! :o
man im here to see your reactions and thoughts (like the first few episodes) but you're mostly showing the game
I already know the game deeply, watched and played it multiple times, its not what i want to see 😔
maybe after the story bits, you could share your thoughts?
Sorry man, I'll for sure make sure to put my opinions and reactions in the videoss
The start is ur reaction to farming oxium 😂
😭and gallium
The sacrifice quest is sooo good my favorite honestly sad victory kinda feeling
Fun fact: Umbra can move on its own when going into transference!
You owe him one, kiddo
tbh i've only bought two things besides cosmetics which is necromech and tome mods bundle the grind for those makes me want to jump off a cliff.
If everyone hates Ballas. Thats cuz the script writers and the game did a great job.
I love this game so much for its story.
I FORGOT BALLAS HAD NORMAL LEGS
You should check out Stallord’s lore videos! They give a clearer understanding of Warframe’s story
Some of them chose this, but still it's sad.
Had to sacrifice personality and humanity for power to make this world better. At least as much as possible.
