I've been trying out different shoes as well, way too many to be honest! Until I found one that fit me perfectly, the Nike's Zoom Blazer and I will always buy the same forever shoe forever. It is liberating to not have to think about the size, if they fit well, if it works with my skating style. It just works!
I still skate in éS Accel OGs and Globe CT-IV. I'm glad they still exist. I don't know, but skating in modern skate shoes makes me feel like I'm skating barefoot. Btw, those Tiagos look puffy. I gotta try those.
Same, I have skated nothing but Tyshawn's for 3 years. Now saying that, I have a pair with a black sole I don't skate well. Right now I have my first pair of leather ones and I really like them for skating but they look beat up much more than the ssuede do at this point. Also tried the Tyshawn lows and didn't care for them.
@@AdventuresInSkateboarding My friend had the leather pair and they lasted 2x worse than suede ones and thats why I dont want to skate the lows but Adidas has been dropping lows with only suede and the lows have one more layer of suede on the toe box 👀
@@AdventuresInSkateboarding Yeah maybe and these mids really just feel like an higher low top shoe not a mid shoe personally. But I might get a pair of those all black suede lows because get holes from kickflips first weirdly haha
Putting Es insoles in my Vans Kyle Walker solved this madness for me. Best fitting and performing skate shoes i've ever tried. The stock insole is horrible though.
I feel you bro, ive committed to skate only one shoe until they blew up, but all of sudden i skated some leftovers shoes that still have a lil life and from now i always overthink for a day to decide what to wear until i finally came to decision the shoe i am gonna skate in, but in the middle of the session this crazy thought about wearing the wrong shoe popped up and ruins the skate day session 😮
You're not alone, I have about 50 pairs of shoes, many still boxed untouched (yet). I LOVE shoes, I have an illness i know but i love them 😆 on the plus side i only skate transition and dont have the problems a street skaters seem to about the nuances of board feel etc, all i need is very good impact protection for bailing out of tricks which is usually taken care of with Footprint insoles. and ive currently got a thing about hi tops for ankle bash protection. #teamshoemadness 👊
Good video. I can relate. I tried the metric and thought it was perfect for me.. bought several pair and then realized the structure of the shoe itself had a raised heel and that ended up hurting my knee. I self determined that that's because when I take impact my foot isn't sitting flat and structurly bad for my skeleton. So crazy of a worm hole it goes so much deeper too. Long story short I only skate flat shoes w a flat midsole and preferably a toe cap with a little more solid feel so it's not just thin swede. I got tons of shoes I thought about making a video about it. But you pretty much covered it.... damn this is my longest comment ever. I am going to stop writing now
I’ve been slowly getting past this issue. Currently trying to get through all my dunks, and have hella shoes in storage to go through. Going to have to bring everything I don’t use or won’t to my local park and give it out.
Dude, U need to do a 12 step program for shoe madness. Lol. Shoes DO matter, but I always skate them until they literally fall apart. Skate those Nyjah’s until they fall apart. I say that, but I know U won’t. Hah!!
I promised myself at the beginning of the year that I wouldn't buy any more for the rest of the year. I've been successful so far. I feel like the problem with me was that I didn't wanna miss out on a good deal or a limited shoe. There's some shoes that I wish I could wear again but they're discontinued.
Currently I skated some fake Vans sk8hi.never plan to switch it yet. My shoes got a big hole on both sides of the sole and the solution is I tried to cover up that hole with an old tire tube and it works just fine. The problem is I need to remind myself to change the patch when it starts to get holes on the tube. Sadly I forgot to put the tube, and I suddenly felt my feets contact with the board.I realized too late that my FP insole tear open at that time.
I do the same exact thing. I can skate any board size/truck set up without too many problems but when it comes to shoes I'll buy a brand new pair, if they don't immediately skate the way I want them to they get shelved, and I'm buying more shoes again. 90% of the time the same thing happens all over again.
i have the shoe madness where i cant decide which one to buy...i feel like i should jsut get some etnies marana but at the same time i am very curious about the dc lynx zero
I go through this too, I used to skate Nike running shoes. Never shoe gued since I was cruising and wasn't caught any tricks. The sole was so flat, it was non instant. I love Straye mystery boxes so I have around 8 of them now, 3 Vans (one non skate shoe I believe), FP high tops, and 3 Emerica x Creature shoes (all different types). I just want a shoe that feels nice and has a roomy toe box, straye's only do that if broken in so it messes with me
I have about 14 pairs in my closet still waiting to be skated... i keep buying sale shoes that i think will skate well, but i dont skate hard enough to wear out my shoes fast enough to cycle through them lol I got back into skating after a brief hiatus and now i think I got the shoe and board madness, trying to figure out my new setup lol
that's what happens to me. i wait until end of season when shoes are like $20-$30 and spend like $100-$200 on buying a bunch at once every few years. i've got new shoes that are over 10 years old.
I have madnesses with my board setups for sure, but almost never with the shoes. I think because I skate shoes that would look good in most of my outfits outside of skateboarding, I tend to make them work, even if the long term skate-ability isn’t there. There are many skate shoes that actually skate great, but I feel look atrocious. A couple that come to mind are the Adidas Tyshawn or any of the New Balance Tiago shoes. I think the recent shoe madness I had is that they discontinued Stefan Janoskis. Now I skate Vans classics just because I don’t see them rotating out old skools, authentic, or slip ones. I’m more of a basic person when it comes to skate shoes.
Bro try etnies please, the joslins or maranas will suit you so well and youll fall in LOVE with them (unless uve already tried them sorry i dont keep up with all ur vids🙏)
I definitely have shoe madness I can deal with the differences in how shoes skate but I do have plenty of pairs of es accel ogs because I like how they skate but as long as the shoes are cupsole its not a problem , cant do vulcs because it feels like skating in socks , the only thing that affects my skating is board size/shape , even though I skate 8.0 and order the same size in boards because of the shape the board can feel skinnier or wider , mostly affects me when it feels wider almost like im skating 8.25 when I want it to feel like an 8.0
Broooo, check the Tyshawns from adidas, best shoes ive skated! I'm the same way tho, shopping for shoes when I currently have 3 pairs that are almost brand new. 😅👀
I have the same problem, total shoe addiction. I skate in an old Jordan 1 mid and an Accel OG at the moment, but have 2 pairs of spare NB lemos, accel og, lakai Cambridge and the list goes on. Sadly I have a knee injury and can’t even skate now, so I have to stop myself from buying more shoes 😂
Dc lynx slims are my go to. Cheaper compared to all of the shoes out there now. Love the tyshawns but am afraid to skate such a good looking pair of shoes that is so expensive.
You cannot go wrong at all with a pair of Adidas Forum ADVs. They fit the foot so well and hold up better than many other sneakers. I say stick with them. But I have the same problem you have. It is a problem. I admit I have one. But trying to stop...that's a bigger problem. LOL
So I skate DKL grip and that means my shoes don’t get ripped up, which also means I don’t worry about how expensive my shoes are to skate because I’m not worried about ripping them, that also means I could skate a shoe forever and it can get boring after several months. This lead me to have crazy shoe madness. I can skate literally any shoe so if durability isn’t an issue what else do I want? I’ve tried cupsole, vulc, Nike, lakai, ect. I have a massive pile of practically new shoes I’ve skated and I keep buying more looking for that “perfect” shoe… 😩
I definitely have the same shoe madness problem. Skate shoe madness is actually waaaaaay worse for me than board madness. Even when I'm slightly convinced some setups have the incorrect trucks, making it much harder to pop comfortable. But I can still skate them. Not true for skate shoes. If they're bad, I stop skating them within a few sessions. I'm now skating Nike SB Dunk Highs. And still don't know if this is the best for me. In terms of durability they seem fairly fine. Flick is fine. And the ankle support is nice. But they're definitely not as thick as Es Accel OG Plus, which was the shoe I skated before this (and still have ready to skate). So maybe the Nike SB Dunk Highs are not worth the money after all. Have to see. These particular ones weren't super expensive actually.
I kind of have the same thing ever since they changed the vans old skool pro's to the new skate classic series. Now they don't fit my feet anymore and I've been looking for a perfect shoe ever since. Yet with no luck. It really sucks.
@@localjoe To each their own. The brand itself is very mid but I loved the old pro series and especially the classic models and the insole is just one of the better ones out there.
Bro I got a pair of brsb that I’ve only skate like 4 times and I ordered the Erik ellingtons linings because I found them for 65 bucks and couldn’t resist the steal because they usually go for 190 and and just want to see if lining has the potential to make it in the skate shoe industry, & even before I got those in I ordered a pair of Tyshawns because they were on sale for 45$ dollars and like you I’m a size 9 but after watching this video want to try skating an 8.5 to see if it helps me have better board control. I say it’s not a problem unless your paying full price for them but if your getting them for under 55$ go for it!!! Also you can always skate them and if you do blow out the shoe you don’t gotta wait to get back to skating!!!
have you tried the lakai telford shoes before? if you said you have i missed it but im just curious if they feel more like a vulc vans shoe but look like a dunk style cupsole. guess im basically just asking you to do a shoe review on the telfords😂🫡

I have two pairs of emerica, I want the Romero cause he's my favorite skater and I want the figgy g6 but I also really want the new balance 272...I think I like the look other shoes with different color ways for different fits but I try and skate a shoe down...but I don't get a chance to skate too much and just wear the shoe so much until it looks nasty and gets too flimsy

Unlike drugs I DON'T WANNA stop!! It's utter madness..so yup, cashed my check, threw 1,000 in my Amazon account, and in one purchase spent 9 hundo & 30 something dollars....allll of it skate shoes & product. I spent the rest on a QP of lettuce. Rn I think I have 6 or 7 pairs of shoes. If greyhound didn't lose half my luggage for me on a trip to Florida last yr I'd have 3 more pairs.. but if someone put a gun to my head & said pick one shoe? I'd say sorry I'm picking 2 shoot me if ya gotta 🤣🤘 and those 2 are etnies joslin vulcs (I got em in this SUPER SICK maroon color way, plus.. actually just trust me and try em! Been skating for 30 yrs so when I say it's an epic shoe trust & believe ull be praising skaten over dem Joslin vulcs! The second is actually the P rod 7 high tops.. not a fan of Nike but I saw em in a shop for 40$ on clearance. They were going for 120$ so I figured I'd just flip em & make a few bucks but the color way was just too sick & when I tried em on I was like ohhhh man! So I've tried plenty of Nike's never liked em but these were such a killer shoe & they literally had me skating the best I ever had. If uv skated em u def know 🤘🛹🤘!!
if your constantly changing shoes you will never truly be use to any pair, choose a pair and run with them till they blow out ya know like you did as a kid
I had shoe madness, I tried just about everything, I have a wide foot in the middle of my foot which is unusual. But if you gotta fat foot like me, jordan 1’s measure wider than new balnace, emericas, vans, and adidas. They also are wider than dunks. Jordan 1 ended madness for me

You can protect the top laces with those Forum 84 lows
I never even considered that haha thank you!
@@localjoe No problem 😁😁
if your constantly changing shoes you will never truly be use to any pair, choose a pair and run with them till they blow out ya know like you did as a kid
So I’m not crazy when I thought the 808s felt like cement blocks lol
I had shoe madness, I tried just about everything, I have a wide foot in the middle of my foot which is unusual. But if you gotta fat foot like me, jordan 1’s measure wider than new balnace, emericas, vans, and adidas. They also are wider than dunks. Jordan 1 ended madness for me
Not a bad looking shoe either!
I skate one pair at a time. Rite now I'm skating the joslin vulcs
Got a pair of dusty sb dunk mids for $40 on Mercari. They haven’t been skated so it’s a win. I’ll see the foam, and get in my zone….. save myself a hundred and fifty buuucks
Yup. 🤦🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️
Nothing wrong with being a sneaker head! I got about 25 pairs. Some I skate some I don't. Some don't leave the box. Give those Ishods a chance!
I was/am going through that currently
I have the same problem😭😭
in my experience changing shoes so often makes my skate weak😢
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad to know I’m not alone
Haha same
@@localjoe I’ve been getting a little better with it lately, but if there’s something I don’t like about the shoe I won’t skate it, then I just have a bunch of pairs of perfectly good skate shoes sitting in the trunk of my car, but now if I like the shoe I will skate it till it’s done
Any skate 9 wanna sell?
thats just me
New balance #1
Nike nyjah frees are good
Converse unique outsole
Lakai/adidas all around good
Es/dc many nice looking shoes
Emerica like vans but less mainstream
Etnies teenagers, Sheckler and AA, no not alcoholics anonymous, andy anderson
Last resort hipsters
Add another insole into the prod problem solved
The cushioning is fine it’s the shape of the toe
@@localjoe adding another insole will make the shoe fit smaller thus hopefully making the toe box easier to deal with cause it doesn’t feel long
I have board and shoe madness it kinda sucks
Damn the two for one!
Na I got like 6 pairs of fallen a couple pairs of fp 2 or three pairs of es
Gf says I got a problem 😅
Haha mine too
Lemme take those 808s off your hands
skate the franky new balance 417
Did you not like the quasi board?
Still skating it and I love it!
@@localjoe sick.. I hope we get a review.. we're all looking forward to it
The etnies joslins are the absolute best skate shoe out there..
You should invest in some super glue for those laces
That does happen in basketball ball look at all the different Jordan's
