- This was a request from a viewer. She wanted to trace Chip from Beauty and the Beast. In this video, I'll find a usable image of him, trace him, create all the colored layers and put a solid background behind him, then bring the svg into Design Space for cutting.
Finally a video where someone speaks calmly, clear and does not move the mouse a hundred miles a minute. I could understand everything you said, Thank You, Thank you!
You are the MVP for making this video!!!! I found a chip image and followed along on another laptop and even took a few notes. I am a beginner at level zero and I learned so much!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I just did my first layered clipart in inkscape you made it SO EASY to follow. I have been using paint and was very limited on what i could do, so this is awesome!

Watched about four videos an already learned more than I ever knew about Inkscape. I had it about a year ago and was so confused I gave up. Thank you
That was the most Helpful video in regards to changing PNG’s or JPG’s to SVG’s with color. AND you just saved me $249 a year so that I don’t have to buy illustrator. No one else has posted a video like this and it’s taken me a couple months to find it so you should put more tags in your video description as to what the video is about. So, I just want to say, THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

This video was super helpful!! I'm just getting into the inkspace but i also found out that while doing this....when you go to fill in the same color of different spaces if you hold down the shift key as click each spot with the paint can it automatically makes it one path so you dont have to keep moving your outline or clicking on each one to make them a path.
Cool tip, didn't know that! Thanks :)
THANK YOU!!!! Finally, a great video!
Great video Wendy! I just downloaded Inkscape yesterday and watched a video that left out many of the steps in order to get you to buy lessons. I am so thankful I found your video. I'm hoping that someone who wrote down the steps can share them. I do better with step by step instructions on paper. Thanks!

Thank you, you made this super simple!
Great Video. I just created my first SVG file using the steps in this video. Thank you.
You could also use the "dropper" sampler from your object (image prior to tracing) image to make, colors an exact match. I'm always good with fewer decisions that don't truly matter in the end - like you said, the paper you choose makes the difference.
Thank You... You made it much more simpler to follow...

Thank you so much! I tried for hours the other night but couldn't quite figure it out! This was so helpfu!
Question: Is there any way we can get rid of the face? Let's say I wanted to do a monogram, how could we make that happen?
I LOVE this tutorial. It has taught me so much and I thank you kindly. Can you tell me the best way to save it if I am going to make a cutting file with it in SCAL? Would need to save each layer separate or save it as an .svg or .png? I'm not sure which is best. Thanks!
Great Video!
very good explanations...
TFS, so helpful!
Thank you for the tutorial! I do have a question though...the black background...what would happen if you simply left it as an outline instead of filling it in? I ask because if I can leave it as is, and not have to change it, then it would be one less step to remember and seems simpler. If I was to do all of this EXCEPT the last step of filling in the black background, would it still export as a black later just as an outline? I hope you respond! Thank you!
Thank you!!!
