Brings me back too. When we were all together for Christmas. Most of them are gone as well and I watch these vignettes to revisit those beautiful moments. ❤️
I miss this era. The 80's was my childhood. I remember watching this between 12:00pm and 12:30pm on weekdays during The Flinstones when it was time for a commercial break.
These Season’s Greetings winter vignettes seem to have hit a collective nostalgic nerve of Montrealers who grew up in the 60s,70s and 80’s. The world was so much simpler back then, only 2 English television stations, time with family. Christmas holidays seemed more real, winters were truly epic. Now everyone I cared about then are long gone or scattered to far away places. It just doesn’t feel the same anymore
« Trois anges sont venus ce soir » by le grand orchestre de Paul Mauriat from the album Noëls (1967). You can listen on UA-cam, and there is a Spanish orchestra recording from 2012 on Spotify that also includes this piece. Enjoy!
A by gone era. Brings back good memories. This was when CFCF was family owned and operated like many of the TV stations back in the day before the big take over by the big corporates where they can now propagate whatever the powers want. It is also due to the increasing rate of theft (also known as inflation) by the west that is driving the cost of living higher causing strain on the populace and hence more crime. Peace.
Every year I come back here, watch these vignettes and get misty eyed about the good ole days of 70s and 80s.
Parents, grandmother, my aunts and uncles all gone...watching these CFCF Christmas vignettes of 70s and 80s puts me in mind of them all.
Wychwood Ave Exact same sentiment going on over here.

Unreal how this evokes childhood memories to a simpler, more quaint time with the family during the holidays.
Memories the best.As I was part of the CFCF promotion team that put this video together.

Good old Days. Much simpler times.

Unfortunately, collective migration is damaging all that beauty. It is no longer the beautiful and safe Canada of yesteryear.
