    My sincere condolences to the family, friends and fans. I grew up watching Don in Montreal when I used to live there many decades ago. Met him on several occasions. Always wonderful chats. Rest in Peace.

    I grew up watching Mr. McGowan report the weather, I am so sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

    Well, this is so sad to hear. Don McGowan was as Montreal as Expo 67, the Canadian Pavilion, La Ronde, the ‘76 Olympics, the Big "O", the Expos, Jarry Park and Gary Carter, the Canadians, Toe Blake and Jean Beliveau, the old Montreal Forum, the Alouettes, Sam "The Rifle" Etcheverry and George Dixon, Mount Royal, Beaver Lake, the lookout, caleche rides (remember them?), Mayor Jean Drapeau, the Metro, St. Catherine Street and Peel, Sherbrooke and Dorchester, the Royal Vic, the Montreal General, The Queen E, the Reddy and the Children's Hospital, the Sunlife Building, Place Ville Marie, The Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Place Bonaventure, Eaton’s, Birks, Hudson's Bay, Ogilvys, Woolworths, Alexis Neon Plaza, Kresges, Steinberg's, Old Montreal, Notre Dame cathedral, Leonard Cohen and Irving Layton, Saint Joseph's Oratory, the Montreal Star and Gazette, Dorval Airport, Belmont Park, Granby Zoo, McGill University, Sir George Williams University, Stephen Leacock, Place des Arts, the Montreal Symphony, the Musée des Beaux Arts, the St. Lawrence River, the Jacques Cartier Bridge, Molson beer, and Reuben’s smoked meat sandwiches, etc., etc. ...
