he probably should've hired a good Loya
you've won. congratulations.
👏
that earned a hearty guffaw and a like
Ok. See yourself out.
Oh snap!!!!😂😂
I once hugged a guy that didn’t like hugs. He didn’t plan revenge. No, he shifted away from me and I got the hint. And then we moved on with our lives and never brought it up again. Funny how that works.
Maybe he's still in the planning stage.
Loya's story of the supposed arm grab is such an obvious lie. HE's the one who had a crush on Lisa. Its not super uncommon for people to get mad about being rejected.
StutleyConstable I hope not. If so...he’s been planning for like 12 years. He should really hurry it up!

I've never seen a man so desperate to make himself a victim.
You should meet my ex... we were driving in tandem across the country he got in a pissy mood decided the best way to handle his pissy mood was to smash into my car and drive away he then gave me shit about what a shity drive he had after... I could go on for days about stuff but he literally screamed I am a victim despite nearly killing me and putting his ex in hospital with a broken face twice and breaking her arm once.... found out about the ex after,, the entire time I was with him he told me how horrible she was and how she was only with him for his money turns out she was the trust fund baby he was milking dry and beating

I feel sorry for Anna, she saw her love taking last breath. That must be heartbreaking and unforgetful. Things like these will mess with your head.
I have gone through that. It's the worst memory I have.
Wasn't she actually kissing her as she went limp?
Horrific.
Cant imagine losing my husband at all... much less like that.
Although I guess if I had to lose him, I'd want our last moments to be spent saying I love you and sharing a kiss...
Seeing someone you love getting shot too shit….yeah that would rate pretty high up with things that mess with your head
If her description of their last moment together was a movie scene, I wouldn't believe it. Heartbreaking
@Wes Hanlon it was two years ago that it happened from the time she was talking about it, she did have some time to grieve, and everyone shows emotions and grief differently.

Crazy how he was able to show so much self control initially - he had the girl he was obsessed with alone and drunk, throwing herself at him and he didn't act on it. And yet he couldn't control himself after his overreaction to being touched... by the woman he was obsessed with. Weird how some peoples minds work.
XiXSAiiNTXiX. This definitely confused me. I thought he had a crush on her. Why would he then turn her down. This guy definitely had major issues, as lisa & Anna learned to late.

Sounds like the Coast Guard should start giving psychological tests before hiring people. What if he was trying to save someone from drowning & they pulled on his arm!!!
I know this is probably rhetorical but! Often those who are drowning will grab and pull their rescuer, sometimes causing both parties to start drowning. I wish someone had pulled him in. Save a life, kill a killer
@@sylviapuppysticker8664 So true it's a bad situation to be in so sad.

Loya: having "paralyzing panic attack"
Also Loya: * keeps driving *
thats possible, unironically
Keeps filming, as well!
You don't have to like the guy to know that 1. He stopped the car. 2. You can still maintain a surprising amount of bodily function while having a panic attack.
Literally!!
I’ve had panic attacks that course me to shiver like that. With the shit he was going through I couldn’t imagine how would feel going to kill ppl and myself
I don’t understand how they could have carried on a friendship for so long. He doesn’t seem like a very fun person to be around. Also, I loved Mike’s hail of bullets. I had to go back and replay that part 😂
Yes, I was thinking about that too.
I think he's mentally off and perhaps the time they were friends his behavior was different. And then for whatever reason he snapped about her hitting on him.
Seems like he has a great imagination, so it could be used drama queen.
Probably why he went to complain about her to the military. He knows how the military Works, he probably thought it would affect her career. Go figure he was her supervisor and it affected his. And I'm quite certain that is the reason he did not get his promotion.
I know the Coast Guard is a bit different from other military branches, but I get it--it's not always easy for women, so a man showing her kindness probably felt like a protective factor to her. She made a mistake of course, but it was handled, IMO, appropriately. They both received reprimand. Women often experience way, way worse in terms of actual assault and they're often too afraid to report. It's so gross that he blew it up so far out of proportion. I think he thought about killing her before it even happened...murdering someone for grabbing their arm is straight up mental. This is not a stable human being. The fact that he planned for it to be a murder suicide speaks volumes.
He put himself in a bad position drinking with someone he was supervising, but I know that also happens a lot in the military. As soon as she came on to him, he should have made her leave/left (I'm not sure where they were). It's not like she could overpower him, she was inappropriate but this is problem that is easily solved before stuff escalated. Seems like a very fragile and immature man.
"He was stewing..like a hot bubbly...angry stew." 🤣 Love your analogies.
I’m always happy to catch a perfectly timed quote :-)

I feel a lot less sad about getting rejected now. At least the people that reject me aren't so offended they spend years trying to kill me
did you rape them after they rejected you? rightly or wrongly that was this guys mental space
it's was far more than an arm pull, it wasn't exactly penetration but involved groping, shaming, etc etc - it was sexual assault
and heres the thing, no one believed him, his chief laughed at him when he brought it up and ultimately it cost him his future professional career
even mike who you'd think actually looked into this doesn't have the story straight
interestingly both psychologists that evaluated him on both the defence and the prosecution didn't find him criminally responsible for the crime
of course he did it, obviously - but he wasn't sane - and this was a consequence of not only his mental head space but also the failures of his support group and authorities after the event

I can imagine there will be a LOT of Loya Wars sequels...
Something about this case aside from the obvious horrific things that happened, really effected me. I watched a doc on this before and he set up a blockade in the road so no cops or paramedics could get through. He also was in a stand off with police. These women had to wait almost two hours before anyone could get in to help them. Lisa was so strong. She tried so hard to hold on and she fought hard. It's so heartbreaking. 💔
I broke down when Anna started explaining what happened after 'I love you too'...
Nobody...NOBODY should ever have to describe their loved ones dying in such a way.
Same, it really choked me up
Literally crying my eyes out she’s so strong it’s insane
It's already so very hard to find true love in our community and she finds it and it's ripped away by some crazy moron idiot. Such a sad and depressing story.
Who cares
Anna seemed like s great person..cheater
The damn fact he took a Go-Pro and record himself shooting the house is a layer of disturbing to think about.
With the internet and the ease of uploading video now expect to see even more of it in the future. Iv already noticed a trend of criminals live streaming there final moments and the video spreading before the police can even try to clamp down.
@@schmitty5461 Yeah that's true. Doesn't help when I remember Blanca on Instagram being killed by her boyfriend and people using her and her ex's accounts for fame.

It's practically part of the "shooter starter kit" these days..
It’s becoming more common in mass shootings. Brenton Tarrants GoPro footage is by far the most shocking I’ve seen.

@Lil Heinz94 I have panic attacks all the time. And that looked fake as shit. I'm hesitant to belittle anyone's feelings and anxiety, but he so desperately wants to be seen a certain way.
He’s absolutely having a panic attack. I have them and noticed his hands in the last few frames. My hands go numb and start to contort just like his were. If my panic attack progresses it happens to my feet as well. If the numbness spreads to my face, I faint.
I’ve had panic attacks just like the one he had. His fingers went numb and started contracting, your stomach and face get numb and you hyperventilate making it hard to breath and talk. You can override the numbness but as soon as you stop your fingers contract again. Just bc you’re driving doesn’t mean you can’t get a panic attack and the only thing you can do is work through it until you can pull over. This guy is disgusting but panic/anxiety disorder is a real thing and it affects the best and worst of us and I felt his panic watching that clip. For what ever reason, this dumb f*ck felt he had no choice but to kill and that caused his panic attack.

That wasn’t a panic attack, that was pretending to have a panic attack.
The evidence clearly shows that he was actually being possesed by The Force at the time - the young Padawan simply mistook it for a panic attack. Note that his voice is very Master Yoda like during this episode. Coincidence? I think not... connection is obvious. Those who know, know.

In response to the last post made- what mental trauma are you referring to exactly? The supposed “attack” he claimed was made by the poor woman he killed? From everything I heard Mike tell us about this dude it sounds to me like a case of a total narcissist’s ego wanting revenge first in a extremely petty way and when that didn’t work, the most horrible- by taking her and almost her wife very lives. I really don’t see any trauma that he suffered other than what he himself decided to inflict. I’m not trying to be argumentative by saying this but I’m perplexed as to how anybody could think that this guy deserves any sympathy or understanding in his actions concerning everything that he chose to do and did.

Glad to see the Coast Guard is meticulous about their screening process.
As said in the video he was later diagnosed with a version of "high-functioning Aspergers". High-functioning in that context means that the person is very good at masking their problems to others and function as expected, most people would never notice there was an issue unless specifically told so. If he didn't have any criminal or medical record of this condition when applying, which is kinda likely, there simply wasn't anything to be found while screening him.
I have a high-functioning version of a certain disorder myself, symptoms got progressively worse over many years with no treatment. I was only diagnosed after hitting 30 because I mask my issues so well. I didn't even know or assume something was maybe wrong with me for the largest part of my life, I just tried to handle things myself and cope with everything, which got harder and harder.
This is in no way a defense of the guy, and neither are mental health issues an excuse for being a dick or cirminal action. Just thought it might explain why he got along fine in life until the attack.
Yes, I think many meticulous people have Aspbergers. I think we should all study this and Borderline personality disorders before we start to date and it will help understand why some people act so...?? I have a coworker like this and I have to remind myself that she can't help it and that's why she says fucked up mean stuff daily.
Thanks nalrya - I think he was kinda harsh making fun of the guy. While I do believe he should be punished, I hope they put him in a protected unit so he won't be taken advantage of and maybe he can thrive there with friends, but he couldn't really understand how to handle certain situations.
It was . . .
@@leahx1701 I am a psychotherapist--and I agree with you here. It is very sad when mental illness strikes in the prime of life, but is disastrous when no one notices and it goes this far.
If he thinks an arm grab is sexual assault, he’s going to change his thinking in jail when he learns what sexual assault ACTUALLY is.
😂 especially when the boys in the yard learn the details haha!!

The state’s psychiatrists find everyone to be competent.
Competent just means that he knew that what he was doing was wrong. Doeant mean he's sane.

It took me a moment to realise that the company Adrian sent that stuff to was the same devs that made one of my favourite games ever, Hades (though Transistor, Bastion, and Pyre are also very good games). That is fucking wild that they got brought into the story for a moment.
This one is too sad to even try to leave a snarky comment. Her testimony had me crying. Tragic.

So horrific, just imagine being in that situation. That is such a terrorizing thing for the young woman that survived and then had to testify. So damn sad

@Phillippe Lorrie I.know right! This guy was clearly having some issues long before this happened. What surprises me is that no one was able to tell that something was up with him and try to intervene. It's obvious he didn't get that way overnight. Just goes to show you that you have to use more caution with how you treat some people. Although some are more fragile, they can be equally as dangerous and their grip on reality is usually hanging on by a thread already. All it takes is one little trivial thing that they interpret as a slight to throw them off the rails. Once that happens, they're usually not capable of turning back.

Hey mike, sadly a few years ago my best friend brutaly stabbed his young girlfriend to death after they split up, he then went on to try to kill himself before calling the police and then eventualy ending up in prison. I still have some sinister looking pics i took of him in college (hippy type, looks a bit like aphex twin) as well as my court papers and a self serving letter he sent me from inside. I would love to assist you in supplying information and these materials if you think this case is appropriate for a video. Her name was emily bates from wisbech/kings lynn there is a bit of info online in a couple of articles. It would mean an awful lot to me to know that upon release from prison, a video like yours would be there waiting to follow him around for the rest of his life - in return for the one he took.
I looked you up on facebook with no luck, so please excuse the manner of approach. Hope you're keeping healthy! All the best -dave.
I hope Mike covers this case!

Anna's testimony is heart wrenching.
At the same time it's very strange. I don't know the details, but she must be heavily medicated. Her eye movements and body language are so bizarre that in a different context it would indicate deception.
I'm not saying that she's lying obviously. But it looks very strange. Again, prob medication, physical harm and psychological trauma would do that.
Christ, to feel your partners lips go limp when kissing them goodbye. What a horrible moment.

Mike, we buried my mother in law in NYC today. I had to attend via video while 2 of my 3 children attended with their father (who I have been separated from for 12 years). Thank you for the video. It preoccupies my mind from the profound sadness. She was a good woman. Unfortunately, she contracted the virus whilst in hospital for dementia related issues. Again, thank you for giving me something to look foward to. You never know how what you do affects another individual and you do it in a positive way. ❤ God bless all of you!🙏
Rest in peace to your mother, I sincerely hope you and your family are doing better now.

The insanity defense “Look at his Star Wars collection”
unquestionably the most bizarre case mike has ever covered.
Truly senseless
I agree. This was depressing to listen to.
it's was far more than an arm pull, it wasn't exactly penetration but involved groping, shaming, etc etc - it was sexual assault
and heres the thing, no one believed him, his chief laughed at him when he brought it up and ultimately it cost him his future professional career
even mike who you'd think actually looked into this doesn't have the story straight
interestingly both psychologists that evaluated him on both the defence and the prosecution didn't find him criminally responsible for the crime
of course he did it, obviously - but he wasn't sane
The 911 call from this insanity is absolutely heart breaking. Anna watched Lisa fade away and die and there was nothing she could do. She was still hiding behind the mattress. Its horrible!!
I’ve heard it too, you’re right it’s heartbreaking
He's driving during his "panic attack." As he's claiming that he can't move, you can hear him turn on the turn signal. How melodramatic!
Adrian " I'm going to go out in a hail of bullets !"
Still waiting 30 minutes later. "I guess the police aren't going to show up. I'll just leave"
"I'm pretty sure that's what a crush is, right? I am a robot." 🤣 I love you Mike.
I can't believe how long it took for the cops to arrive, you hear there's an active shooter in an apartment building and it takes 30 minutes to get there. That's insane. For all they know that guy could have been going on a killing spree and taking out everybody in the building.
Our 911 communications need a serious re doing, idk if you’ve ever had to call them in a super straining, serious, mentally exhausting situation , but they almost seem like they are annoyed that you are calling them, you might get lucky and get the one that is compassionate, and helpful but almost 80% of them are literally so fucking shit at their job
It was on Cape Cod. Every community isn't concentrated and urban. In my rural area a law enforcement response, depending on when it occurred, would involve mutual aid from several agencies (whoever had manpower), and wouldn't be instant. That's not unusual in rural areas.
Legally the cops don’t have any obligation to respond. As the Supreme Court has said, they aren’t your bodyguard. That’s what the 2nd Amendment is for.
Yeah I agree but when seconds count the cops are just minutes away, and tbh that crap probably wouldn’t have had long legs in Alaska, most of them are packing. Be safe carry a weapon 👍🏻 editing this it’s Massachusetts sooo well you know.
@@michaelmorgan9601 they literally are! I’ve had to call them a couple times before and most of the time they’re rude. I’ve heard that a 911 operator got annoyed and hung up on someone before

I rarely feel compelled to comment on these types of videos but I wanted to say that this guy is the absolute definition of a tool and I'm quite sad he succeeded in his ridiculous mission. I do know, however that if he thought an arm grab was a violation then he's really not gonna like prison life.
