Makes the rest of us trying to sell decent firewood look bad. I always try to give more than expected both in quantity and quality. Word of mouth is the best advertising you can have. People like this guy won’t be selling for long
Quality standards do differ. When buying from local guys it’s important to do quality control before they dump it in your yard. Learned that lesson myself 😂
Firewood like most other disciplines in life have many people that are clueless and have no idea of how to do things right. Too many people want top tier results without putting in the work. He won’t be selling firewood for long.
That's frustrating. There's a guy in my area selling "full cords" for $220 and he delivers in a little utility trailer pulled by a compact SUV..... I think some people don't realize a cord is an actual measurement. Have a good one! -Brett
OK so I'll give you load was short, but unless you told the guy you want premium wood for resale you got firewood. You said it yourself it would burn fine it just not pretty. Plus its end of the season what doo you expect? I know myself that after selling wood all season by this time your getting the end of the wood for this season. Not going to be the prettiest wood I've sold but it will all burn and make good heat. If your looking for all pretty wood ready for resale you need to tell the guy and expect to pay a bit bit more!
I don’t think he was complaining about paying… he was shorted by quite a bit on his “cord” and it was punky and not uniform. I cut and split all my own firewood for myself and my dad 12+ cords per year. If I was paying 200 per cord it better be a full cord of quality firewood

You are absolutely right. In sales you always under promise and over deliver. Thanks for the comment!

It shouldn’t be hard to grow a firewood business around here, haha.
Be interesting to see if that guy delivers the additional wood. It's unreal how some people sell firewood.
I will definitely be contacting him with a reminder.
I don’t buy any firewood unless tested with my moisture meter
That’s a good practice. Thanks for commenting!
A face cord 8x4x16"(or 24" if you use that). A full cord 8x4x4, regardless of cut size

I am running into a lot of this in my area. You’re right people don’t want to put the effort in.
I agree with you that is some bad fire wood but that is not near as bad as raising the price 250% and pushing it off on other people .
How do you figure if I’m taking the time to pull out the bad, resplit the big pieces and sell what’s good. Seems fair to me

It’s crazy what you see out there. Thanks for commenting!
180 cu ft loose is the law in maine for a cord. That looks like typical landscaper wood. Sits around and rota until there broke enough to sell it
That’s interesting. I didn’t realize they had laws for that. I will have to check if PA has one. Thanks for the comment.

It’s always good practice to advertise correctly. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That looks like bonfire wood.
Yep! And that’s how I will advertise it.
How much did he charge you?
What state are you in?
We are in PA. Thanks for watching!
You are complaining about the wood @200 but you plan to resale the same wood for 500 . Maybe you should make your own wood .
