Came for Steven Universe, stayed because Julie Andrews is my queen.
The songs that go straight to the heart, that rapt your total attention, that force silence, that move you to tears, are very few indeed. This is one. Sung with such an intense feeling, this is truly a moment of grace.
You said it all. I wish I had your intelligence to write at least half of the words you wrote.This song reminds of a friend, my very best friend who unfortunately passed away six years ago. He went to Georgia and stayed there for a year. When he came back to Brazil he brought some LPs. One was Beaches with Bette Middler and the other was Victor or Victoria and we played these two LPs so many times that I still remember each track of these two albuns. That was a magical time that I had in my life among some other good ones, of course.

This is one of my favorite films, great music, great cast, it had it ALL! So many in the cast are no longer with us. However through film, they will live forever.

Thank you for posting this, I looked for it about 3 or 4 years ago, I couldn't find it, but eventually I come back and find what I didn't in the past. love this movie! My mom and I watched it together , she loved it too. I miss her singing with me :D

I don't know many of Julie Andrews' works, but I know enough to consider her a legend. I came here from Steven Universe, and it makes me so immensely happy how similar she, in this scene, looks like Pearl. Like not only was the staging and costume so similar, but you could have sent me a stillshot of this clip and I would have believed it was a SU live-action remake or something. I'm in love!

Saw this movie in the 80s by accident - after a friend rented the video out ... I though he was an idiot when he came back from the store with 'this' ... but as we paid for it decided to try and watch it and my god I was so glad we did cos I fell in love with this movie and love still to this day !!!

I came here from the Joe Johnston post, but I love this. This is great. Julie Andrews was a queen well before she played one in a movie.
I'm always a bit annoyed when fandoms take over comment sections (like all the Bill Cypher comments on 96 Tears), but being introduced to new music is great. Rebecca was a genius for taking inspiration from this. I'd love to watch the whole film now.
