Ganz wunderbar auch die Herrschaften in der ersten Reihe des Theaters: Hilde Hildebrand, Adolf Wohlbrück (aka Anton Walbrook) und Fritz Odemar (der Vater von Erik Ode, "Der Kommissar").

That's basically the first 30 seconds:
Wir müssen's auf jeden Fall erreichen,
wir ruhen erst an, wenn wir gesiegt,
wir wollen von unserm Weg nicht weichen,
bis uns alle Welt zu Füßen liegt.
Wir woll'n im Lichterglanz stehn auf den Brettern,
die Leute soll'n jubeln, wenn sie uns seh'n,
wir woll'n auf den Zetteln mit Riesenlettern,
ganz oben, ganz oben, ganz oben steh'n!
We have to succeed by all means,
we only will stop when we've won,
    we will not stop trying,
until the world will lie at our feed.
We will stand in the spotlight,
the people shall cheer when they see us,
the playbills will list our names in giant letters,
at the very top, the very top, the very top.

I was wondering where you got this? I've looked all over for some sort of recording of what the Blake Edwards film/musical was based on and can't find it. (Hey, I have the recordings of the other two versions of the story, may as well try three for three... :))

The first 30 seconds were better than all of the remake.

      Wrong.
It was actually liked by some of the Nazis, and even lauded in the party Newspaper Völkischer Beobachter in 1934.
