This has a very cool scent, Bay Rum and Juicy Fruit Gum. It’s Bay Rum with a twist for sure. Very fresh…I’m also pairing it with the famous DOC razor- the Ascension Select. This one looks intimidating, but gives a very nice close shave. They were discontinued for a while I’ve been told, but they are on the website as of today.

I have the stainless steel and Cu CNC versions of the Ascension and both shave extremely smooth, the DOC has no bearing on aggression for me. Being semi adjustable, I back off the head 1/8 to 1/4 turn to get that perfect feel. The Cu version is very heavy being all copper, nice. Leave it up to Doug/Fran to come up with a gum scent😉 There's the burn, sweet. Well done Ken, thanks. Enjoy!

I just bought a 2 pack of the Wilkinson Gillette DE blades from Amazon and they were shipped to me in 2 days. But haven’t had a chance to use them in one of my safety razors yet. But I will try them out in my next shave. Sinatra Lennon said something about the my blades silver and he said that they had some rust on the blade. He mentioned it to the company that produces the blades and they are looking at them.

I used a Rockwell 6S for years. Once the Ascension came out, I rock the Copper variety with a Feather blade as my daily. My skin, the fewer passes I can get away with, the better. Great razor and even though it looks aggressive, like you said, it's very smooth! Also picked up the Bay Gum today - can't wait to try it.

Awesome. I was going to ask you to compare the razor to something I may be familiar with, and as it turns out, you did! I go back and forth between an R41 and a '56 red tip for daily use. Now I know I'd probably like Ascension Select. Thank you.

and speaking of winter! my old pop just came from long Beach ny to fl for vacation with his wife and when we were hanging out he told me that he just miss the bad snow storm and glad he not back home and when u live my water like he does it feels 10 dregsse instead of like 30 with the wind

I know you are not one to build a super lather and spend minutes working it into whipped cream like , but that CK6 needs quite a bit of water and work to get to full potential. Kudos for facing a double open comb!

Great shave. I’m back to trying out blades, starting with the Wizamet and Schick blades. Both worked well for me, and I’m really happy with these blades. Up next is the Indian saloon pack Gillette Wilkinson Sword to try. Have a good one!

I have an earlier version of a double open comb by them. Cool looking but if you are off on your angle the tines are a little too sharp. You done good. Take care. Get the canoe ready.

Great shave Ken. Whom ever keeps saying that you don't need to soak the synthetics needs to hush because it makes for a better shave, L.O.L. I have the original DOC razor here and it's what I call a "sleeper". It looks intimidating but yet it's extremely mild and comfortable even with a Feather blade in it. Speaking of Feather blades, it's looking like I'll be going with them again.

Your lather is so smooth and uniform. Idk if I’m doing something wrong but I can’t get my lather all nice on my face like you do, I can get it nice and fluffy in the bowl but once I put it on my face it’s all lumpy uneven and ununifrorm. Idk what or why I can’t get it nice like your but I really wish I could.

I ordered some of the saloon pack from India and have just tried a few but so far they are really good. On par with Personna lab blues and much cheaper. I’m not sure how they can sell and ship them half way around the world for so cheap.

Did you know that's a somewhat adjustable razor?
I heard you can keep the handle loose
If the handle is tight it is less aggressive. More aggressive with a quarter to a half turn back.
