@@deejayhart in 2 years since my comment I had become pretty obsessed with her albums (even Drinks collaboration) and vids. For me, just her singing with her black Telecaster is perfect, like in her cover of "Chairs in the DarK" and sleepovershow vid "Hyw Heb Farw"......yes the church performance is awesome as well.
@@deejayhart I hadn't heard that EP but am going to give it a listen and most likely buy the vinyl given Discogs states only 1000 were made and there are a few available.
interesting songs and style.her vocals are enjoyable.you can trace many influences or similar artist from the past in her music.but shes still an original with good material. I also like the guitar player.together they make a nice sound.
If you like her, you might like the guitarists/keyboardists stuff too, he releases under the name H Hawkline. Her current bassist is also really good, Sweet Baboo. Welsh music scene woo!
blueconversechucks There are some links between Cate and Gorky's as well - she sings lead vocal on "From Morning Sunshine", a track from ex-Gorky Richard James' solo album "We Went Riding". And her bass player Stephen "Sweet Baboo" Black used to play in Euros Childs' band and has appeared on both Childs' and James' solo albums. Her guitar/keyboard player H.Hawkline also made a guest appearance on one of James' solo records.
For me, she is as great an artist as David Bowie. She's a visionary.
Absolutly
She wrote a song about Bowie - 'Meet the Man'. Bloody gorgeous tribute!
Some of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
Aww Cate is so wonderful.
I can hear 60's incredible string band, and others west coast trippy bands... love her voice and music.
the combination of her and Hawkline's vocal harmonies is just gold, Hawkline is so underrated also, I wish he'd release more music, he's brilliant.
Truly amazing music that sounds good and relevant years later
love love love her
her early work is incredible
as her world started to form
I'm glad I stumbled upon this.
love her quirky indie style, so refreshing. And a great voice...wonderful stuff...
Great show, live in radio.
Just found CLB & Fold The Cloth on WMFU by accident. Wonderful.
A great taste for song's composition.
Yes, She is a fantastic songwriter and performer, with a great pop sensibility and psychedelic vibe to her songs.
I'm feeling that the pop sensibility is kinda anti-pop,
there's so much uncommon about her style.
the soundtrack our lives... rock n roll yeah
+Emiliano Ortega-Guerrero INDIE ROCK AWESOME
falcon eyed is a banger i love it
So good!
she is amazing,so cooool❤😛
Tremendous,
high creativity.
Beautiful
I BLEED GRAVY!
This performance of "Fold the Cloth" really reminds me of Steeleye Span from decades ago. Cate's vocals are so much like Maddy Prior's
I love 'Fold The Cloth' - she has played it very Nico on a church chapel organ as well as the wonderful folk/psychout of the video version.

I first happened on her doing 'Sisters' at Glastonbury on TV and had to know more...
Have you heard Cate's 4hr Spotify playlist? Or her trippy 'Reward' remake EP cleverly called Here It Comes Again? She's a musical genius.

Rubbermongoose Oh she's Welsh? Gorky's Zygotic Mynci still completely slays me.
