Great review guys! I traded my 2023 Model Y for a 2024 Blazer EV RS AWD and couldn't be happier. This car is built so much better and the ride quality is better, in my opinion. Sure, the Model Y has a faster 0-60 time, but who races at every light? 60 mph is the same no matter what car you are in and a few seconds longer to get there isn't such a big deal. I didn't even consider the resale value, but I'm sure the Tesla will keep having issues since there are so many of them just sitting around and the fact that Elon Musk changes the price of the vehicle on a whim.
I hope you are ready to give GM all your personal data! Without CarPlay anything you input (contacts, destinations, driving habits) they will now have! There are several lawsuits going on over this with GM and how much data they collected and sold for like 10 years! Good luck!!!
@@FunAtDisney I'm not doing anything illegal and my life is pretty boring, so I guess if they want to spy they can. Apple and Android also track your info. These are the times we live in.
@@bkilpattn1 I cannot speak from experience Android but Apple never collects your personal contacts, etc. But no matter… Why the heck do you think GM decided not to put in CarPlay? As I said, GM is being taken to court over collecting data and selling it for the last 10 years! The other part is in-car systems by GM, Ford, Honda…all of them are horrible at updating the systems and security, whereas Apple is the best at doing this (especially security updates). Finally all I do is plug in my phone and everything is there - even setting up a driving destination (I use Apple maps - superior to any car nav) - No messing with the in-car system!
Bought a 2016 Tesla Model X with 90k miles in impeccable condition. Seats look new even. $25k OTD. Curious about EV and wanted to try one out. Wife like it a lot so far. We have level 2 charger at home and she never has to step foot in a gas station again. A peace of mind for me too. So far things are going well. If we like it a lot and treats us well in two years I'll by a new one for her.
Depending on a person's needed mileage, leasing doesn't always equate as a better transaction. Most EV's right now, especially here in SoCal, have insane lease deals but only with 6k-7.5k Mileage Limit per year. Some don't even offer those discounts as you go higher and others that do ends up pricing the same as if you'd buy.
@@Cee-i4p that’s a very subjective point of view. Every person is going to have a different reasoning for lease over buy and vice versa. The same reasoning goes for EV’s and ICE vehicles. I personally would never lease and never have on any of the cars I’ve had in my 20 years of driving. Maybe if I needed a new car every 3 years like Apple bros need new iPhones every release cycle, it’d make sense for me. I just bought my first EV and plan on keeping it for way longer than a lease, and in my particular case the incentives I got and the price I got it for greatly outweighs the inflated cost of the lease with capped mileage.

Traded in my 2019 wrangler unlimited for this blazer and I would never turn back, I also have a 2022 Silverado and I never use Apple car play because it looks so outdated including the gps. My first EV car only spent $8 to charge it from 20% to 100% at a charge station in California. Now have a 240 installed in my garage and charges fairly quick. Really love all the features on the RS
Be sure not to park it in a garage, near other vehicles, or near your home! Make sure you have a good tow truck service on speed dial!! It may take months to obtain repair parts, so always have a second backup vehicle as well! Since they use up tires quickly, shop for them ahead of time! Don't be shocked when you see how much vehicle insurance costs!
My insurance was similar for my Blazer, Ya a little more than a Silverado 1500 I had but it's value is more. I already shopped tires and they are available and there are choices of tires. My dad had a Cadillac burn in his driveway so I guess it's not only EV's that can burn. Just because it's different isn't a reason to hate on it. Mine drives and rides great. Quieter and smoother than my truck or my wifes Pathfinder. My commute went from $25 day to $4.50 a day.
