Absolutely *HISTORIC* drive. Teammate nowhere to be seen. The fate of the 2024 Formula One Driver’s Championship was sealed dominantly today. The Alpine boys and team did *INCREDIBLY* well. This double podium with their history? With cars behind them sliding and crashing, including multiple race winners and champions? Phenomenal. What a treat this race was to watch as a fan of the sport. My apologies on behalf of our disgraceful press to everyone.
Dude relax. Gasly went from P15 to P3. The red flagged helped those who stayed out. That's why for the first time in 10 years we had to Alpines/Renault on podium. Max was great but got lucky just as he got unlucky in qualifying
Or Max himself or Michael Schumacher. Senna was before my time. I grew up supporting Michael as a Dutchman. I feel like Max is similar in so many ways.
The way how the safety car ended right after Lando and Russel came to pit and was unlucky and in reverse lucky for max as he was able to race in green flag speeds to overtake them. But all else was pure skill by max, he drove an incredible race today, and lando even made a mistake in the restart...

To be fair, Schumacher made it easy for the press to pester him. His driving morals were questionable to say the least. But Max's jab at the British press is the priceless relic of F1 history and I thank him for it.
Probably one of the only podiums this year where every single driver on the podium is genuinely happy. Mental drive from Max, he's just too good in the wet and I'm just happy to see Pierre and Esteban finally have their moment together, bury the hatchet and genuinely be happy for one another.
Look at the sky commentary during the race. They were moaning and whining about Max and his aggressive driving. It's like shut up. The bias is so ridiculous.

I simply can't watch it anymore in English, I used to like Crofty but as I've started to pick up so many of his very subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) comments on just about everything. If a non-brit is fast on a straight, it's "wow look at that straightline speed of that Red Bull/Ferrari/Aston Martin", when a brit is fast on a straight, it's "wow look how DRIVER got great traction out of the final corner". You can see it so many times in a race. Not to mention trying to stir the pot in absolutely forced ways, like when they Pited Max earlier in Zandvoort last year resulting in Max undercutting Perez. They tried to milk that on and on and on about how Perez was not favored by Red Bull and Max got it all (since they desperately wanted to undermine his hugely dominant season). They had to pit someone, and Max ended up being way faster anyway...My God..
You forgot to add Senna, he also had a barrage of brittish bias thrown at him constantly. Only his death turned him in to their darling, but people tend to forget the before.
I can’t say that I personally like Verstappen but today he reminded me of Ayrton Senna at his best so my hat off to him. Great job Esteban and Pierre, too bad that cars performance is so unmatched to appreciate the true value of pilots

I also remember the British commentator trying to pry driver of the day out of Max's hands by bringing up how well Alonso was driving catching Zhou. Yes he was driving well but the attempt to steer viewers away from Max's performance was astounding to me :')
I don't think Ted was doing that. Ted has always been about the weird and obscure. He's there to provide a different perspective as much as possible from the usual commentary of Croft and Brundle. Alonso did recover well at the end plus the context of how affected he was by the physical conditions (he's in his 40s), of course still nothing compared to Max.
That was savage from Max about the british press 😅, I want to thank the FIA, in particular J Herbert and the britsh press for invigorating Max, which contributed a lot to this epic drive, keep bashing onto that great driver, making him stronger while you are at it, many thanks. Snd the interview was much nicer without them.
Perhaps the british press needs to change tactic and talk about how good Max is, perhaps this confuses Max so much that he get's 3 dnf's in the next races... They should know what happens when you annoy Max he turns into a super focussed driver ready to show everyone....

Yeah it’s crazy how he wasn’t noted for two of them leaving the track, the one against Russell where he nearly took him out, and the other where he went off track on turn 2 and went behind piastri but he cut at least 3 or 4 cars behind…he gets an petty little fine for an aborted start, meanwhile piastri gets 10 seconds for nudging Lawson 🙄…Norris is unbearable and cocky and thinks he better then he is, piastri is the real MVP carrying this guy and handing him positions…the much better driver in my opinion

I am Australian and so we have a little extra insight into the British press because of the Ashes (cricket contest every 2 years). I have noticed that in the last 10 years the British press have really become more childish and toxic. In the past there was always banter, always some bias, being unflattering about our best players. But at the same time there was respect and some perspective that it was all part of the game. The press was different to the British people and fans. What I see in the last 10 years actually makes me sad. They have become so nasty and one-eyed. It is also sad because now I see it not only in the press but in some of the fans and people. They believe this shit! I used to respect the Brits and there were some things I admired however that has almost gone. They are so self righteous. There is something very strange going on in this country, I don't now what. It is genuinely sad for me to see.

Lando talking about luck with the free tire switch, he forgot the late red flag during qualifing which made Max start from P17. Lando makes mistakes when under pressure, Max doesn't. Lando didnt came closer to Leclerc, he needs help from Piastri to switch position 2 times. Russel got him from 1st start and then he gets another chance to start from p3 with the gap to Max completely closed and screws up again. Lando with a better car is getting outraced by Alphine Ocon and Gasly. Lando is no where near to be a world champion. MAX is an absolute beast and a worthy world champion!
He talked about Luck while Max drove P17 to P6 even before the virtual safety car that was before the red flag. Lando on team order pitted under safety car Max over the radio said 'Let me stay out' and that is the difference between him and Max, Max knew the track was even more wet as before at that point and that an accident was just waiting to happen. Lando needs to learn when taking a risk requires luck and when it's a calculated risk with high chance of paying out. When i remember how Lando spoiled a race by staying out with intermediates on a wet tyre track i can fully understand his fear though.

I'm not a Verstappen or Red Bull fan, but the British bias against him throughout the year has been evident. Even after he had one of the most impressive races in the history of motorsports today, they did their best to sweep it under the rug. The highlight of the conference for me is how little things people do in their life that adds up to their success. Ocon and Piere going to practice in those conditions daily alone, really added up and helped them today. Easy to call it luck, but remember under immense pressure from Max, Russel, Leclerc…these alpine guys didn’t commit a mistake

I simply can't watch it anymore in English, I used to like Crofty but as I've started to pick up so many of his very subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) comments on just about everything. If a non-brit is fast on a straight, it's "wow look at that straightline speed of that Red Bull/Ferrari/Aston Martin", when a brit is fast on a straight, it's "wow look how DRIVER got great traction out of the final corner". You can see it so many times in a race. Not to mention trying to stir the pot in absolutely forced ways, like when they Pited Max earlier in Zandvoort last year resulting in Max undercutting Perez. They tried to milk that on and on and on about how Perez was not favored by Red Bull and Max got it all (since they desperately wanted to undermine his hugely dominant season). They had to pit someone, and Max ended up being way faster anyway...My God..
You forgot to add Senna, he also had a barrage of brittish bias thrown at him constantly. Only his death turned him in to their darling, but people tend to forget the before.

I don't think Ted was doing that. Ted has always been about the weird and obscure. He's there to provide a different perspective as much as possible from the usual commentary of Croft and Brundle. Alonso did recover well at the end plus the context of how affected he was by the physical conditions (he's in his 40s), of course still nothing compared to Max.
That was savage from Max about the british press 😅, I want to thank the FIA, in particular J Herbert and the britsh press for invigorating Max, which contributed a lot to this epic drive, keep bashing onto that great driver, making him stronger while you are at it, many thanks. I am Australian and so we have a little extra insight into the British press because of the Ashes (cricket contest every 2 years).
I have noticed that in the last 10 years the British press have really become more childish and toxic. In the past there was always banter, always some bias, being unflattering about our best players. But at the same time there was respect and some perspective that it was all part of the game. The press was different to the British people and fans.
What I see in the last 10 years actually makes me sad. They have become so nasty and one-eyed.
It is also sad because now I see it not only in the press but in some of the fans and people. They believe this shit! I used to respect the Brits and there were some things I admired however that has almost gone. They are so self righteous.
There is something very strange going on in this country, I don't now what. It is genuinely sad for me to see.

Lando talking about luck with the free tire switch, he forgot the late red flag during qualifing which made Max start from P17.
Lando makes mistakes when under pressure, Max doesn't. Lando didnt came closer to Leclerc, he needs help from Piastri to switch position 2 times. Russel got him from 1st start and then he gets another chance to start from p3 with the gap to Max completely closed and screws up again.
Lando with a better car is getting outraced by Alphine Ocon and Gasly. Lando is no where near to be a world champion. MAX is an absolute beast and a worthy world champion!

He talked about Luck while Max drove P17 to P6 even before the virtual safety car that was before the red flag. Lando on team order pitted under safety car Max over the radio said 'Let me stay out' and that is the difference between him and Max, Max knew the track was even more wet as before at that point and that an accident was just waiting to happen. Lando needs to learn when taking a risk requires luck and when it's a calculated risk with high chance of paying out. When i remember how Lando spoiled a race by staying out with intermediates on a wet tyre track i can fully understand his fear though.

Lando whines about Max because Lando was too slow and too incompetent to remain ahead of Russell let alone take back a position from him. So Lando whined to the pit wall about doing an undercut to give "his" position back to him. Lando is neither a good driver nor a good human.
I'm not a Verstappen or Red Bull fan, but the British bias against him throughout the year has been evident. Even after he had one of the most impressive races in the history of motorsports today, they did their best to sweep it under the rug. Truly disgraceful, and Max has every right to call them out for it.
