      Both the McLaren and the Mercedes F1 that Lewis won in had Mercedes engines so it wasn't as big a move as people make out ... the Alpine didn't. Oscar isn't going to win six WDC Titles at McLaren because the sport is different now. Although, being an Aussie F1 fan for many years, it is great to see Oscar doing so well. Such a pity that Daniel has left because there was a possiblity of three Australian drivers on the F1 starting grid in 2025. That would have really been something. Still, two Aussie drivers and one Kiwi is still pretty special for us here down under. 2025 is going to be huge. And with Sir Lewis in a Ferrari, F1 is going to explode. Cheers form the Land Down Under and see you all in Melbourne in March for Round 1 of the 2025 season.

      Interesting observation. I can see it. Think its because both of them are very self aware- and put effort into coming across as a stable- determined and concrete in their delivery of things. Theyre both very straight cut- yet at the same time (while Verstappen and Senna for example- were and are the kind of driver that never lose the driving mentality. Theyre always in the car even when theyre not) Piastri and Lauda seemed, and seems to be able to disconnect from the car- and connect also with the people around them, in a way thats- well not as straight cut. More noncholant in a sense. They know, who and what they are. They didnt, and dont need to prove it out of the car too. They recognize that not all people are drivers I think. And are able to formulate responses that hit home even for those heckin' football fans

      Valtteri came 134th out of 233 riders in the 35-39 age group at the world gravel championships this year in Belgium, you have to do a qualifying event first and finish in the top 25% of your age group, he did the Gralloch in Scotland last year which is the one i do, but I think it clashed with Monza this year, next year the world champs is in Nice, France which I’m sure he will do as it’s home territory for him, hopefully it doesn’t clash with the F1 Calendar edit - just checked and it clashes with Austin, he will be gutted 😂

    3:03 was lucky enough to go see Johnny Herbert do a talk about his career and F1 as a whole. During the audience Q&A someone asked him this and Johnny told about how Prof Sid Watkins advised that, as nasty as it might be, to just go ahead and do it.
    The logic being that if the driver was holding it in but then had a crash and something like shrapnel penetrated them and stabbed through their bladder the toxins from the urine would make things worse than if it wasn't there. So essentially go ahead and go to eliminate a potential hazard.

      @@jeanclaude1916 Yeah, like Sebastian Vettel, the guy who won 4 world championships, and then they had significant car design changes and Danny Ric made him look like a rookie in his last year at Red Bull. New car, Danny Ric managed to beat Estaban Ocon at Renault/Alpine, which is no big deal really. He never came to terms with the McLaren, and was fired from RB because he still couldn't learn the NEW CAR. Does that explain to you why it made me think of Danny Ric?

      Little bit of F1 insight from someone who works for a team. Driver contracts are very competitive but their managers skills can mean that between a driver pairing both have wildly different terms. For example one of the current driver pairings have unequal terms such that one driver gets trophy replicas paid for by the team but the other doesn’t! They can cost up to £50k each

    • @kukuc96
      @kukuc96 2 місяці тому

      @@OfficialWilly 50k is not much in F1 terms TBH. The median driver pay is something like 5 million a year. Even if you take 20 trophies in a season (which probably means you are the champion that year, or at least a contender for champion, and likely earn more than the median) that's only a million for a full set of replicas.
