- You've spent a lot of time learning guitar licks in Rocksmith 2014 on the previous generation of consoles and now a new version is releasing for the Xbox One and PS4. Find out if an upgrade is worth your cash in this hands on preview video of Rocksmith 2014 for the Xbox One.
If the title of this video was ‘I want to learnt to play guitar, should I buy rock smith 2014 for my Xbox One/PS4” then my answer would be a resounding yes. I think it’s a wonderful tool, especially for complete beginners and it’s packed to the brim with handy tools which provide a genuinely fun way to practice and hone skills that, in normal circumstances, can be a bit of a chore to master.
So yes, yes you should definitely pick it up on the Xbox One or PS4 and give it a go if you’ve never tried it before and need that extra push on your journey to becoming a master strummer. But, if you want to know whether or not to upgrade from the previous, last-generation release, the answer may not be as simple.

I was gonna buy this on ps4 but this video saved me some money.
Just bought Rocksmith digitally for Xbox one. All the DLC I've already bought for my 360 says I gotta pay again... What gives?
my main issue if the song choice. Old forgotten soft rock garbage doesnt really gets me excited.

Its not all that long since i bought rocksmith 2014 from xbox live for the 360, it is fuckin ridicules having to pay even more money for the same game on the One, i was thinking you should get it free or t least get a big discount if you've already bought it off live. Im starting to hate the xbox one with a passion, its no where near as good as the 360, yea graphics are better but they have taken everything else away from us, you cant save cds to the harddrive, you cant even check to see what you have on the hard drive. i just use my One as a table for my 360 to sit on.
i unlock inlays all the time but how do you set it up to use them? there is no setting to do it

Is there differences with songs like some are missing
Can a person learn to play Bass guitar on the ps4 vertion? I see there is a ps3 dlc for learning to play bass.
+Rick That was on the first Rocksmith, and then a newer version of it was released with the bass expansion + some dlc (think bout it as a GOTY ver), Rocksmith 2014 has already bass on it for all consoles, i would still suggest that u get a used, non cable copy to be able to have the R1 songs on the 2014 version since they can be imported :)
Also, would suggest to get the ps3/360 version due of terms of audio latency and inputs, since X1/PS4 only have HDMI outputs, they are way more laggy than analog audio, in this game audio matters more than res, i even put my resolution on SD with this one to evade as many lag as i can (video lag can mess up while playing too)
If I buy rocksmith on my 360 will i get to download it on my one at a discount or...

any thoughts on the complaints that unless you use an optical input for audio you get lag that makes the game "unplayable"? i just got the xbox one version and plan on simply using an hdmi cable. with the calibration options, it should be definitely playable correct?
I don't have a separate audio unit so just use HDMI and it's still playable for me. I think it's only a very slight lag!
Another option is to get a Optical to Analog converter so you can plugin headphones.
So basically unless you have more money than sense or you have sold your xbox360 or ps3, there's no point buying the next gen version!
Id have thought ubisoft wanting to keep customers who have bought allot of dlc for last gen would allow them to download the dlc for free on next gen if they paid for the game again, but nope, they want to be greedy!
Well on pc you upgrade for free (not to mention custom dlcs) #pcmasterrace (!! Obviously just joking!!)
