This model is built from mainly liteply with a little bit of balsa and vacuum formed mouldings. It is covered in a thick, self adhesive pre-printed film.
Thanks for sharing this video with us, it was very helpful. I just finished the build on mine (i got the RCAF SAR version as I used to work on those planes in real life). You had so many great tips that helped me out a lot! One question, can you tell me where you got the 3 bladed props? I would like to convert mine to the 3 blade setup as well. Cheers!
One thing I prefer to do re removing covering Isto use a solder iron, gentle heat to melt the plastic, without scoring/cutting the fibers of the wooden structure underneath
@@ScaleMeDown thanks. I have the VQ Monaro with ASP91FS, and VQ P40 Kittyhawk with YS F-91AC supercharged 4 stroke. Both are fantastic models for their price point. And Hello from little New Zealand
Please can you explain in detail how you fix the wires before and after into the wings and were you made the hole in the wings for the wires? Thank you
Hi. I solder up servo extensions so that they stay "fixed" forever (cannot come unplugged). You can see at 4:43 in the video where I drilled oles in the lower wing skins for the ESC wiring. It will be later overed by the nacelle mouldings.
I set mine at 0 degrees, as when both are running normally, the torque is completely cancelled. In case of ESC failure etc, my method is to close the throttle, lower the nose and treat it the same way as an engine failure on a single engine
Hi. I drew an .stl file for the nosegear (send your email address to us on a message at our Facebook page). The battery tray, I drew and laser cut, so it is an .svg file. Do you have access to a laser cutter, or would you prefer us to cut one for you ?
Hi. Good to hear from you. We live in the UK, where this kit is imported as 'VQ Models'. In other countries they are sometimes imported as 'Nexa' or 'Pichler'. Not sure where to get one in the US, but Motion RC might be a good start.

What brand is that 3 blade prop spinner? I am building it right now and trying to find one as I am using 3 blade propellers instead of 2 blade propellers.
Hi, the propellers are 9x7" Master airscrew 3 blade propellers (one LH and one RH rotation), and I drew and printed my own LH and RH 3 blade spinners. Thanks. She flies nice too.
Great video as usual and a cool choice of T shirt too! RC planes and Alice Cooper - whats not to like!

love the incidence (decalage) gauge
Thanks. Very simple to make with some square Ally from B&Q

what prop adapter did you used?
Just the ones that came with the motors

Did you put anti-torque angle on the motors?
Personally, I put 5° external to each engine.
What do you think ? Should I stall the motors at 0°?

I think there should be. Should fly on a couple of .25 glow engines though

flap and aileron servos you used were micro...or mini class? what torque at 6 volts?
Just off the top of my head I dont remember - 17g analogues I think

only if it was a 90 inch wing span.
Absolutely ! This would be really good a bit bigger
wing alignment pins not fitting is bad...very bad from the factory
Yes. Thankfully, they don't require too much fettling. Mine were quite obvious as the internal doublers were slightly misaligned
captive blind-nuts getting glue in the threads from the factory...bad...
Yep, requires all the threads cleaning out with a tap.
