Mercedes C43 AMG DOWNPIPE INSTALL/SOUNDS

  • In todays video I take you guys along the install process on a Mercedes Benz C43 AMG that is getting downpipes. This C43 AMG has the 3.0L direct injected M276 V6; the downpipe paired with a tune greatly increases performance and sounds great! If you have any questions feel free to drop a comment as well.
    **Please note that this particular car already had modifications done to its exhaust system, which makes the car sound more aggressive and burble as well. If you install downpipes on your C43 with an otherwise stock exhaust system it will sound much more reserved and burble less. I would like to add that this video is strictly for entertainment purposes only.**

    hi there, great video and awesome sound from the c43. i just bought the 2018 c43 cabriolet white ones just like yours. is there any i can get a list of what you have modded? i tried to find exterior parts like lip kits, diffuser, spoilers, all in cf but no luck. everywhere i searched were made for coupes and sedan. do you happen to know if the coupe parts would with on our cabriolet. thanks again for an amazing video bro!

    • @Mattboldeau
      @Mattboldeau 3 роки тому

      They do, even sedan front end parts work on coupes - the front bumper (as long as it's the sport bumper) will work. Rear diffusers for sedan you can't use on a coupe/cabriolet sadly. .

      Thank you for the kind words man, as Matthew stated the cabriolet and coupe exteriors are the same so any of the front lips and diffusers you found for coupes should fit right onto your cabrio! I already have the large middle suitcase resonator/muffler (no one knows what it truly is) deleted. I’ll be adding these downpipes as well. I would assume I’ll be 8-9 decibels even louder than this. Could be a good or a bad thing

    Nice video sir. what tool did you use to take off o2 sensor ? Thank you

    • @Bozs4life
      @Bozs4life  4 роки тому

      Dodge Zhang There are special sockets specifically made for removing o2 sensors, you can find them online or any auto parts store. They are typically called o2 sensor sockets.
      However, with the original downpipes off you have easy access and I just used a 22mm wrench to remove the o2 sensors.

      @@Bozs4life Thank you for reply ! I just bought that tool. Did you unplug o2 sensor electric clip from engine bay or under the car ? What kind of tool did you use to removed that clip? Thanks a lot

    • @Bozs4life
      @Bozs4life  4 роки тому

      Dodge Zhang the connectors are held in little brackets connected to the bell housing of the transmission. You can access them on top by the corners of each cylinder bank, if you look closely in the video you can see them. So I took them off the bracket (still connected) and then I disconnected the connectors with my fingers, I don’t think you need a tool to take them off. Just hold one side of the connector while pressing down on the locking tab on the other side and slowly wiggle them apart.

    Downpipe ruin anything in engine? It is safe?

    • @Bozs4life
      @Bozs4life  3 роки тому +4

      Downpipes don't really do anything to negatively affect your engine, if anything it helps exhaust gases and waste to more efficiently flow out of the engine (this is a vague explanation but the general premise behind downpipes). With that said they are safe, so long as you properly tune the vehicle after installing the downpipes. If you do not find a proper tune to accompany the modification, it would defeat the purpose of installing downpipes and can lead to check engine lights and in some cases drivability issues. Any reputable performance shop should be able to help you find the proper downpipe and tune for your vehicle and clarify any of your concerns. Hope this helped brother!

    Where did you get the downpipes from

    • @Bozs4life
      @Bozs4life  4 роки тому

      Juan Ponce if I recall correctly these where provided by the customer, however you can get a set from weistech for around $800. There are also various companies on eBay that sell them but I can’t vouch for how easily they will install or the quality. Also a quick note is when you do order downpipes make sure you select the correct chassis as the M276 engine is used on various platforms but the downpipes styles vary greatly.

    Do i need spacers for the o2 sensors to install aftermarket downpipes?

    • @Bozs4life
      @Bozs4life  3 роки тому

      I’m not sure what you mean by spacers for the O2sensors, typically the downpipes come with bungs that allow you to transfer the old sensors to the new downpipes so no spacer is needed. I hope this helps.

      @@andersonjules442 Nice, so as far as tuners go, you have companies such as Weistec and Renntech that offer handheld tuners for the M276 bi-turbos. I’m not too familiar with these, so I can’t specify on whether they offer tunes in stages. Since you plan on installing downpipes I would reach out to the companies themselves or authorized retailers near you on whether they offer tunes to support various mods like downpipes and make a decision from there.
      Now, I would also recommend Eurocharged for tuning as well. Full disclosure, I work with them and don’t want you to think I’m only pushing their tunes which is why I included the other tuners above. I know that they offer tunes that support stock cars and cars with bolt ons such as yourself. They also have a full AWD dyno where you can have an idea of your power gains and power band as well. This also gives you the option of a custom tune, where you can get the very most out of your mods all at one location. Sorry for the long response, but I hope this helped and if you need me to clarify just let me know.
