Reading sub is far much better than watching a dub over. With subs you can hear the tone of the characters and it really adds to the movie. Dubs don't do any justice .

Bong Joon Ho underlining the word “pretend” saying that it’s a crucial word reminded me when dahye (rich daughter) said that her brother is pretending to be an artist and then jiwoo (poor boy) tells her to write in English using the word “pretend” twice. And by that time, only 2 of the family members were “pretending” to be someone they’re not

Pretty sure this would've been much more informative if they spoke in Korean instead. Not much content considering how long the video was.

The semi-basement apartment is really important. Bong Joon Ho said that class was relative. The Kim family who lives in the semi-basement is poor compared to the wealthy Park family who live in a mansion on a hill. [DON'T READ FURTHER TO AVOID SPOILERS] However they are above the Guk family who live in the basement. The Kims see themselves as above the Guks, not as fellow poor comrades, and their lack of compassion jump starts the tragedy.

Frankly, I think it's colonialist and racist when native English speakers (especially Americans) feel this need to police non-native English speakers' fluency. All the comments talking about how they should have hired a translator would hardly come up if they were French or Italian (i.e. white.) As others have mentioned, the actor who plays Ki-Woo is Korean-Canadian and the director is quite fluent himself. Stop being lazy and pay attention and read subtitles. Everyone has an accent, including you.

what i can say about the stone:
-it symbolizes ego, greed and pride
-min brought the “greed” to the kim family by offering a job,
-ki-woo started being obsessed with the stone and the whole family started being the “parasite” to the parks family
-even when one night the peeing man came back to his house, that time he dared to fight the man back, now that he have the “stone”
-When they found out about the moon-gwang and her husband, after they locked them in the underground, ki-woo returned with his “greed” to kill the husband, but instead the stone itself nearly killed him

I love how Woo-Sik got to act with his real-life best friend, Park Seo Joon. I wonder if they did that on purpose... They should do more together. But its nice to see Woo-Sik get the leading role and Seo Joon just be a side character cause Seo Joon is all over the kdrama scene already.

If you've seen interviews of other korean actors and idols, you'd know that it's not common for them to be fluent in English so I was actually impressed that they both got their points across fluently! Let's not demand for more and give credit where credit is due

I'm so pleasantly surprised that they were both interchanging between their Korean and English! In Malaysia, bilinguals are the basic for the majority. Most people know at least 2 languages and it's not something I see that's common elsewhere, so it made me smile to see them both switching in and out between their languages! Also, Director Bong's English is WONDERFUL. honestly, he can articulate the process and his thoughts so well. Even native English speakers have trouble articulating their ideas and here he is doing it in his second language? Mad respect!
