Well, I never upload a full session of attempts. The game is simply a broken mess on Hard if you're going for a deathless run. Plus I'm only uploading the most optimal times I can get with each vehicle. I die a lot in this game for BS reasons.
Axel is hilarious. You can win the whole tournament with him without ever firing a missile. Just freeze, ram, machine guns, and drop remotes to kill the bosses.
Also I know why your homing missiles were gone. When you went in the water the game thought you died even though you kept your lives. When you respawned it gave you the default weapons.
@@BigSlick98 I used to speedrun classic DOOM custom levels, and yeah it does make you go insane. Granted, one has to be slightly insane or autistic to speedrun anything. Also I didn't know the game even registered that as a death. Oops.
Never liked axel much. More of a Mr Slam, Mr Grimm, warthog, and thumper guy. And when I was cheap I used Minion. Great video I haven't played this in years
Axel is basically the powerhouse vehicle if people couldn't find the Minion code, and are having a hard time completing a playthrough. It's almost like they were really giving Hammerhead the middle finger when they designed Axel's stats. Mr. Slam was one of my favorite Heavyweights, and Mr. Grimm is a favorite of mine.
The game took away your homing missiles because you died after killing DT's truck. See, DT's loading screen between his phases is different from the other loading screens: it doesn't have the "Loading" text at the top of the screen, nor does it reset the environment when it's done, and you can actually die after wrecking the truck. In the beta version you would fight both phases in one go, so maybe there is left-over code from that.
I have been suspicious about your videos from day one ever since I heard a different soundtrack on some levels. I mean you not only beat it with everybody on hard mode, but you did it without dying and with world record breaking times for every character in a matter of 2 months. Something that should take years due to how brutal the ai is. I am not saying you are cheating, but I am having trouble buying this as a hardcore TM 2 veteran. From what I have noticed it looks like your attacks are doing way more damage than they normally would. Either you are the Twisted Metal 2 Jesus or you are cheating somehow with mods.
I'm a tm2 veteran. Been playing this thing on and off since 1997. Si here's my observations: There's no way axel ram attack does that much damage . And the special also does higher damage. 😐
@@machoman6969 Take it up with the mods at speedrun.com to dispute this record. It's an untampered .iso booted up in Duckstation. Everything is right out the gate.

Speedrunning any game makes you go insane. That’s why I hate speedrunning. I prefer challenge runs. Great videos as usual.
