Since so many people in the order watch your videos, I think it would be beneficial to do a video showing HOW to file the emancipation papers and where to go to get the paperwork.

It works that way in abusive families on the outside too. My father would beat me till I cried, because that proved he'd broken my will. Then, he'd beat me till I stopped crying because he couldn't stand crying and because that proved he could make me obey. Trying to stop crying while actively getting beat is the most difficult thing I've ever had to do on a regular basis. If I stood up for my sister, I'd get beat too.

@@TheAmandaRaeGrant Thank you! My brain knows, but it was so ingrained that it was to make me behave, that I still struggle at just shy of 45 years old to understand that it wasn't me. Your channel and the stories ya'll tell helps me. It makes me feel normal to feel the way I feel. I'm so sorry ya'll went through what you went through. But it's good to know I'm not just "crazy and stupid" as my father tells me.

@@bethanykennedy812 I think it definitely takes time to unlearn these things that we were brought up to believe about ourselves. I am proud of you for chipping away at those beliefs and learning you are not "crazy" or "stupid" you deserve love and happiness and respect and I am sad your parents did not bring you up that way but SO happy you are giving yourself what you deserve now 💜💜💜💜happy that my videos can be of some help as well :)

X-linked hydrocephalus is a common problem in polygamous communities. The poor children of these incestuous "marriages" never have a chance.... :-( Amanda Rae and Michelle, you are truly heroes of the highest order in exposing these truths. Keep telling your truths. Hoping it will help you heal from the PTSD you are experiencing from having grown up in a cult. Sending you so much love from Denver.

Amanda- You are doing important job by documenting the experiences of ex-order members. You have the personality and drive for a career in politics. You put people at ease when you talk with them and you want to speak out against injustice. There are so many things that you could fight for to help girls inside and outside the order. There needs to be laws that protect all girls, regardless of the religion of the families they are born into.

Also, you are the only one who openly addresses the racism. It is one of my main issues with shows like Sister Wives, they never address the racist doctrine in their "religion". Know that you are helping many people just by being open and explaining that the culture is horrid. Are you able to report the abuse for investigation? Michelle had mentioned in the group video that her dad had wanted her to start delivering babies. I am really curious about how the order trains their midwives, if they have any formal education etc. As well as if the women get prenatal care, what happens if they are high risk and need an OB and a hospital delivery etc. If it doesn't fit into Michelle's story maybe you could make a video about it at some point. :)

Why did/do you think differently. What gave you insight to see things were wrong? How did you escape accepting the conditioning and the limitations? Because I think that is the true escape from polygamy, or any other cult.

Have you ever reported your dad for all the abuse he put you and your siblings through?

I don’t understand if these people are supposed to be close to God then how can they be this evil??? I grew up in a very religious home and I don’t even go to church anymore. The people at the church I went to were so flipping nuts. I’m so glad you ladies got out. And thank you for not raising your beautiful children to be racist bigots. I don’t even know you but I love you for it.

How does he even have time to beat all of you that way!? How is he not in jail!? This crazy to me! Utah laws need to change.

I don’t understand why she was called Ava on the show, was this explained somewhere and maybe I missed it?

On the show she reached out for help through social media and her name on there was “Ava.” She used a fake name because the order would monitor their social media accounts and she didn’t want them to catch on.
