What a flippin genius product !!!! Im getting some for my office chair in Newcastle as it has a hard floor and the wheels on my chair feel like they are squares lol. Cheers mate, greatly appreciated.
Hi Mike and Kath 🥰👋👋. I actually got a set of these roller blade castors for my gaming massage chair locally here in Australia 🇦🇺 for $17AUD (~£10) on a great deal a few months back from eBay and are a life changer as I use my chair on carpet and it now glides beautifully 💪👍🤩
Excellent castors/wheels, providing you don't have even slightly thick carpet. Hard floors, great, but anything other than pretty thin carpet and they sink in and make moving about extremely difficult.
Hi, Mike. This video was so interesting that I fell asleep while watching it. I woke up, and now I'm trying to watch it again... But if I didn't watch it the first time, am I really watching it again, or for the first time? 😂
Yes, I bought a set for both my chairs.... A major improvement! But I did spray a little Normfest Super Crack Ultra - (yes, that is what it is called) it's a high performance lubricant, and after that you give them spin and they go on forever - although they weren't bad before. But as you say, it amazes me why they aren't fitted as standard considering a decent chair cost a couple of hundred pounds, or more!
These are a lot more expensive in Canada. $38.74. My chair was second hand at a thrift store for $15... because it doubles as a scratching post. Come to think of it, $15 for a scratching post that lasts over 10 years is a damn good deal.
Great product. Only problem I found is being tall it took me over my comfort zone. Still I fixed that with some thick teflon pads under the desk feet. Now both chair and desk can glide around my office ⛸😊
Those would have been an awesome addition to my old office kneeling chair, zipping around between 3 workstations, probably not so much at home anymore as I have a budget flight/racing setup next to my PC sharing a chair. GT Omega lockable caster wheels were my upgrade of choice, rolling back two feet when braking in Forza is not ideal 😝
I got a set of these type wheels for my chair. Sadly my apartment has carpet everywhere, and these wheels just don't work right. They tend to sink into the carpet and when you move it's a pain to get started. And those chair mats aren't any good either. Sigh, back to the crappy casters.
a fair warning as a former roller blade wheel user: these wheels are not perfect, sometimes they can be a bit too slippery for regular use. especially true when your room is hard floored, it will move a lot if you relax yourself on the chair. i suggest you get a set of higher quality traditional 2-wheel casters if your chair's original ones are not ideal. for workshop stools thats not bad, but do give them a try if you have a carpet. just dont throw your original casters away.
So there is no way to remove the pins holding the wheel? I have been trying to find a way to do it but can't think of one without totally destroying it.
These do work very well but there are a few reasons why chairs don't have these wheels in particular. Aside from cost saving measures, first, they are taller which can change the geometry of the chair. Second, the single wheel does scrub as it turns which puts more strain on the pin and mounting point - dual wheel castors don't scrub. Third, there is more strain being put on the single wheel. Fourth, the wheels do discolour over time. Fifth, the races on the thrust bearing are powder coated mild steel which will get loose quite quickly. Sixth and finally, there are better options, such as dual wheel versions of these rollerblade castors and traditional castors with a soft compound tyre.
@@mikesunboxing I'd like to know how they hold up over time, at least. I got myself a set and I love them. I just wish a legit company like Herman Miller had a go at making them their way.

What a great idea! Chair wheels were always a pain so imo these make a worth while upgrade. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath👍
and cheap enough to be an impulse purchase and not worry about it too much

yeah very true that was a good investment. I am sure there will other cheaper versions in Canada though, i hope

Great tip! i might need to do that myself

@@classydays43 our son is a big unit and his are still holding up okay
I made a video about the same thing, only difference is my video sucked. EDIT - I should also add I'm sitting on the wheels right now 😎
and you did the diy arm rest pad video, that was good
Ya I've tried these, they bend like crazy. Also if all wheels are oriented one way, and one the other, it tilts on that side. Just avoid these.
thanks for the feedback
baught some now dont have to get up just role to kitchen

None , absolutely none of the chair makers have this option regardless of price...even that very high end, expensive chair
