Taking from the success of their big brother, the Alpinestars SMX S Boots offer top-tier performance that has been streamlined. In retaining pieces of the SMX 6 such as TPU sliders and track-inspired TPU shin plates, the SMX S Boots keep in line with the high-end ethos of the line. However, to simplify the package Alpinestars removed the bio-mechanical ankle system and replaced it with super comfortable TPR version in these boots. Additional features include a durable microfiber construction throughout the outer shell, breathable textile interior, and dual compound removable footbed that includes EVA energy absorbing foam and Lycra.

Gore is a 3rd party waterproofing with a lifetime guarantee, while drystar is Astar’s in-house WPing of lesser quality (but cheaper). The 6’s offer an ankle brace while the S doesn’t, and only offers the height. We love that Astars offers options for every rider and if that confuses you, we have customer service riders ready to help at all times. We also tend to mention all this info during our reviews, as long as the product is available at the time of shooting.
