Have had my Gore-Tex SMX Plus boots for a few years now, they have blown me away with how comfortable and protective they are. The slippery soles are definitely a weak spot though, great to see they're fixed in the new ones. The Gore-Tex version are right up there for my 'best all-rounder' boot you can buy.
Have the SMX Plus Vented after years of riding on an older version of SMX boots from around 2005/6/7-ish. The Plus v1s are fantastic boots, and the venting makes such a difference. I would have purchased the v2s, but I got a great deal on the v1s. The v1s are so comfortable right off the bat. They are big boots, but when riding, they feel like part of your body. In no way do they get in the way of riding. After maybe 1/2 hour of riding they felt supple and flexible. The only issue I've had with both SMX models is getting the side stand down. I almost sprang for the latest TCX model because it appeared narrower and overall a bit smaller. But I'm glad I went with ASs. The Super-Techs (or whatever the flagship model is called) are really streamlined and smaller. Loved them, but I couldn't justify the expense. It's also worth noting that the Supertechs were unbelievably heavy. Still, if price wasn't an option, that would probably be my first choice. Re size, I wear a 10.5-11 US. This translates into 45 Euro. The 45s fit my feet perfectly. These are my third AS boots, and I've always found the sizing to be true.
These do run a whole size bigger. They are super comfy though compared to the Dainese boots which sacrifices comfort over protection. Dainese adds a lot of reinforcement in all the key areas of impact which makes it stiff but once it's broken in it fits like a glove and a part of you. There's also much more mobility around the ankle on the Dainese compared to A*s. They are also sleeker looking than the A*s. The A*s look and feel bulky; that's probably from all the cushioning which is why they are very comfortable riding boots.
These are NOT true to size. I have them. They are about a half to one full size bigger than true. I wear an 8.5-9 US depending on the shoe. Got these in a size 8 and they fit PERFECT! Super comfy.
Would these boots be too "overkill" for regular street riding compared to the SMX 6 v2's? I'm not sure I'd get out to a track day enough to justify these beautiful boots.
Not really, plenty of people use these for street/track mixed use. I will say the SMX-6 v2 is a similar boot with more of a cult following on the street though, for a few bucks less. I've had the originals for 7 years. I ride every day. I've also crashed in them. Still good
I love these boots! I got a pair nearly a month ago and wear them nearly every day riding to work. great safety features and comfort!
You work with these on?! How does it perform in full day comfort and walking? Will it wear and tear easily?

Most important question. Does it creak like the old one? I had the old ones and the creaking sound when U walk is so annoying.

Hi,I wear the same size 8,5-9, so shouldn't get 42?
@@alexanderi7332 Yes. That’s the correct size.
not much changed, it's a light facelift. The SMX Plus is a great boot. I had SIDI's and others but nothing compares on comfort level
Do these boots fit better under a pair of jeans compared with the smx 6 v2 and dainese torque d1
Yes

Would you share the link of a goretex version?
Honest question, I'm a size EU41/US8? and have a bit bigger calves than the regular person, would these fit me true to size or should I go up a size??
