The v2 upgrade to the SMX 6 Boots comes with a focus on increased performance and protection, while upgrading the ergonomics for an even more comfortable boots. From the augmentations to the accordion stretch paneling, to the commitment to superior ventilation, the Alpinestars SMX 6 v2 Boots are all about improving the ride. Additional features include Astars’ innovative TPU lateral ankle brace system, high modulus TPU injected shin guard, and double density ankle protectors.
"Hey this is Anthony , watch decide and ride!!" Love it always solid reviews! I am looking to scoop up a pair like new worn twice, basically new
2:53 "man that made a lotta noise". Lmao! Love your videos Antony, thank you and Revzilla. Best review videos on the web by miles.
That intro is getting slow man......
I have these but I really struggle to get them on over the GP plus v2 race suit, they fit perfect but it's just when I go to zip them up I can only get them like 90% off the way zipped
wish we got a good look at the air flow on the yellow version. hit Australian weather has most motorcycle boots ill equipt to handle it. these made my short list when I was researching my next boots yesterday.
A note: the Gore-Tex version doesn't have a toe slider, whereas the Drystar one does.
(In Europe, the original SMX-6 had it, but you guys in US didn't get that.)
Thanks for clearing up that mystery. I had to purchase on-line because no local stock and was not paying enough attention to the photos.. I just received the Gore-Tex version and was a bit perplexed that it didn't have the toe slider. In fact it was a bit of a WTF ? moment. But all good. Actually, I prefer the look without them and have zero plans for the track.
How are these boots in 50-60 degree weather? I do most of my riding in warmer weather but not sure if I should get the regular version or vented. I really like the color options with the vented version but would like to ride comfortably in early spring when its a little cooler.
The vented versions feel pretty cold below about 70, so you might want to go for the non-vented version. -DrewZilla
Hi, which one would you recommend between the SMX6 v2 and the Nexus from Dainese ? thanks
@RevZilla would you recommend this boot for commuting to college and city riding? Or should i sacrifice protection and get the tcx blend or maybe a short boot like the smx 1 R? I'm buying my first riding gear from you guys.
If you can only get one pair of boots, get these more protective boots. You can still walk around a bit in these just fine. -DrewZilla
The elasticated panels do look nice tbh
difference between these and SMX S? also how do they compare to forma freccia? these would be my only riding boots.
Neither the SMX S / Forma Freccia have any hard ankle support like you see on the medial (inside) of the SMX 6 v2 Boots. This helps prevent the ankle from bending side to side in the event of a crash. We'd opt for the SMX 6 v2 between the three.
Would you recommend this in everyday street riding, with some walking around?
Hi, is the sizing the same as with the previous version or maybe they come a bit larger than standard? Thank you.
Sizing is similar to the previous version. -DrewZilla

TY for this video. I currently own the Vertigo II and wanted another pair of boots. Alpinestars SMX6 V2 or Sidi ST boots? Decisions decisions.
I’ve got boots and boots and boots and boots! Love it. 😀 🇬🇧
Thanks for video Can you wear them under riding jeans? Taper cut
Perfect boot for riding a Surron electric dirt bike!?
So if I wear a US shoe size 10 in every shoe what size will I get these boots in European size 43 or 44
44 would be your best bet, its the same size as me. You might have a little bit of room around the toes, but the 43 would just be too tight in my opinion. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455. -Pat
RevZilla Cool thank you, I’ll be getting a size 44.
@@dvera9726 did you feel like a size 44 was good for you? About to get these and from the reviews on the website I was leaning towards 43, but now I'm debating 44...
@@jagovanbeek definitely get size 44 , perfect fit for me.
@@dvera9726 do your toes normally touch the top of your shoe? Or is there a little space between your toes and the end of the shoe? I usually have a little space
Heyyy Revzilla !! I wear size 41 in sneakers and size 40 in boots. What number should I buy for this bot?
Does the yellow in this boot match the yellow in the black/white/yellow Missile 1 piece suit?
Yes, the yellows match between the boots and the suit. -DrewZilla
I broke my gearbox with quickshifter with this boot! Because the rubber part with which you operate the lever when shifting is too soft. it is pressed in such a way that you do not fully forward shift with the quickshifter, despite using enough power. I have had this several times with hard acceleration with all the consequences! Be warned! This boot is okay for normal driving and shifting with the clutch. It's also comfortable and waterproof, but I definitely do not recommend it for sporty driving! I have not bought this boot here, but I find it necessary to warn others before they buy it.
Is the red actually red? it looks very orange to me. I am trying to match my new Alpinestars air v2 jacket
In the video, those are the waterproof Drystar version of the SMX 6 v2 Boots, and the red is actually red in person, so they'll match. The vented version of the boots have a fluorescent red accent, which won't match your jacket. -DrewZilla

Not a auction sr
I am 44 euro in torque dainese , what size do you recommend for these boots?
Suitable for touring
For touring, I'd recommend the waterproof version. -DrewZilla

Hi, may I know how comfortable the Mag 1 compare to this boots. I am looking for a boots that is protective enough but still comfort enough for walking. I am trying to choose between Sidi & Alpinestars.
The Sidis aren't very comfortable for walking. They're very track-focused. The Alpinestars are much more comfortable for walking and street riding. -DrewZilla

One question.
Alpinestars smx 6 v2 or Tcx st-fighter
Both provide similar protection, so it really depends which you prefer aesthetically. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla Thank you 👍
Did they manage to fix the squeeking on these like they did with the SMX Plus 2016?
Yes, they definitely squeak less. -DrewZilla
This or the SMX S? What are the big differences for street? I ride yamaha R6.
The SMX S is a step down from the SMX 6 v2 and it does not include the hard brace on the outer ankle to prevent from lateral torsion. Otherwise they are basically the same boot. I personally love the SMX v2 Boots because of that added protection at the ankle, but Alpinestars likes to give options for every rider. are these narrow toe box?
i didnt fit in sidi crossfire 2 srs boots, and needed somthing wide, ended up with gaerne sg10.
would i like the fit of these smx 6 v2 boots??? do you recommend?
Alpinestars has a slightly wide fitting toe box. It'll likely be between the Gaerne and the Sidi in terms of width.
awesome thanks for reply/info!@@RevZilla
How are these compared to the sidi roarr and tcx race boot
The TCX RT-Race Boots provide the most ankle stability, while the Roarr and SMX 6 v2 Boots offer just a bit less. All three have similar heel, toe, and shin protection. -DrewZilla

How is the Drystar version performing in summer temperatures (80-85°F)?
They'll feel warm, but if you wear good wicking socks (with Coolmax for example), it'll help. -DrewZilla

@@RevZillaThank you. One more question - is there a significant/noticeable difference compared to standart version regarding performance in warm/hot temperatures?
There's not a huge difference with the non-waterproof, so if you'll ride in the rain, it's worth it to get the waterproof version. -DrewZilla
would these make a good boot for dual sport riding?
There really isn't enough grip on the sole in mud/dirt conditions or protection against the tongue area from branches etc. These would help you on the road portion of a Dual Sport ride, but not really the woods/trails. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to our Gear Geeks at cs@revzilla.com or 877.792.9455. Ride safe, -Pat
how much warrenty and Garrenty it is coming?
Like many brands, Alpinestars offers a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects. -DrewZilla
Hi, are they better than dainese trq tour ?
If you need toe sliders, then these are better. Otherwise, though, they offer very similar quality and protection. -DrewZilla
This boots are waterproof?
There are waterproof and non-waterproof versions. I've linked the two waterproof versions below. The Gore-Tex version is more breathable than the Drystar version. -DrewZilla

Please see our International Orders Page (rvz.la/intl-order) for more details. -DrewZilla
Thank you so much!
Hi, what is the difference between them and the regular SMX-6 and SMX plus
Compared to the previous-generation SMX-6 Boots, the v2 Boots have a new accordion stretch panel across the top of the foot that improves flex, new dual density reinforcement on the medial side of the ankle, and an updated sole. The SMX Plus Boots are a step up from the SMX-6 and newer SMX-6 v2 Boots. The SMX Plus Boots have a more secure buckle closure, more protective ankle protection to limit torsion/hyperextension, better heel reinforcement, and an internal lacing system. -DrewZilla
So the SMX Plus are newer then the SMX-6 boots? and more protective then the SMX-6?
thanks
Yes, the SMX Plus Boots are more protective than the SMX-6 and SMX-6 v2 Boots. The SMX Plus Boots came out around the same time as the old SMX 5 Boots and were recently updated to have an aluminum toe slider instead of plastic. Otherwise, the SMX Plus Boots are about the same as they were in 2013. The SMX-6 v2 (version 2) are replacing the SMX-6 Boots, and the SMX-6 Boots replaced the SMX 5 Boots. -DrewZilla
Hi. Which one to pick? Smx6 v2 or rst r16?
Did they fix the screw that comes loose at the ankle? I RMA'd one boot to A* (they requested both, and I did send both). A few weeks later the other screw came out.
There is no way for the customer to fix this screw
So far it seems like it's been addressed. -DrewZilla
sold out already 😑
I think its because its not out yet ;/ the alpine star site says its "coming soon"
I went to their site, they have the wp vented versions still available. the regs are already gone
went on sportbiketrackgear and the same thing
just went on their site again, they took it down, it was on there in the morning
As listed on our site, the out of stock versions are expected to start shipping mid-April. Some sizes and colors are already available though. -DrewZilla
I'm stuck between these and the Sidi cobra air, which one would you recommend for a daily commute and weekend ride on a zx6r? Thanks!
Both are really good options for your riding. The Cobras have better toe and heel protection, while the SMX 6 v2 Boots have better ankle protection. -DrewZilla
RevZilla thanks, I'm actually thinking about the SMX plus since it seems to have more protection.
6:48 booty sweat 😂🤣
I'm a 43-44 EU, what size should I get?
Would I be able to pull a pair of riding jeans over these boots when I wear them with jeans? I don't always ride in my leathers but I would like to be able to wear these boots.
Most riding jeans can be worn over these boot uppers. -DrewZilla
Thats great, thanks Drew. Can you tell me about the sizing? I wear a EU size 45, are these boots true to their size listed?
I find they fit slightly large. I still would recommend size 45 for you. -DrewZilla
👍🇦🇹so cool guy 😀
can i use this BOOTS for street riding ???
Yes, you can certainly use these for street riding. -DrewZilla
