Wow [calculating how much I could get for selling most of my pedalboard and amps] ... this could be "the answer" when I've been looking at going full modeller.

Yeah, for me it's really hard to spend that money when I could get an entire EVH 5150 for a similar price, which can do anything from godlike studio tone to live performance

This or the Fireball 25? It’s for metal, metal and more metal, but I do like the built in gate and delay. Is the metal tone any different between the SE and Fireball?
I like the tone on this one better, personally, it’s tighter and more aggressive, the Fireball has more low end but it’s looser and uglier to me, I did a video on that one too if you wanna compare
In all honesty, this amp sounds best with a creamback 65 in your cabinet. The vintage 30 is way too ice picky for this amp. The creamback makes it come alive.
Sir, can you please make a comparison video of Dimarzio PAF Master and Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special? No one compared these two Alnico IV pickups, can you please do it for us?
can the blackstar midi controller be phantom powered by the Engl and does it send cc commands to switch the different functions of the amp? thank you for your help ;)
a little too bright, too much hi mids or something for me, but would sound cool blended with another scooped amp like the Rectifier or OG 5150 to give it a nasty bite. Dry clean channel sounds good.
This is something I've noticed with the gear demos of this amp. Not so much that there's too much mid or treble, but that there's not enough bass. I think that generally flies because us metal guys are always trying to 'tame the low end' in one way or another, but when you stack it up against the Fireball 25 or Invective MH (or just a bigger amp) it sounds a tad anemic. I find a good low-end adds a lot of dynamics and texture to a tone. You get more of the fundamental, too - people can actually tell what notes you're playing. In my experience this is easier to take out where there's too much, than to add back in where there isn't enough out of the box.
My main gigging/touring rig is a rack mounted Boogie Triaxis into a valve power amp. I used to use a 50+50w Marshall EL34 power amp but it weighs a lot, like a hell of a lot, and I got fed up with lifting something that weighed several stone. I brought a mono 6L6 power amp that switches from 50w down to 20w and the 20w is absolutely capable of being used with a live drummer. In fact there's very little difference between 50w and 20w in terms of perceived volume. It's loud enough to take your head off so while I haven't played the Engl I can state that in my experience 20w is well up to the job. I use a 2x12 custom built Matamp cab and most people underestimate how much of an impact on your tone a cabinet can have. Not every 20w amp is the same in terms of volume though but I reckon it'd be grand for a full band rehearsal.
