I wish mine had worked that well, I ended up bending the screw. Good tool, but the the 24 year old original ball joints were just a bit to much for it. I was surprised out how well it gripped on to the top of the stud. I think in any other application it wouldve been perfect.
If it doesn't pop loose, hit the knuckle with a hammer & the shock will pop it loose while under compression. You can use a impact gun & crank it, but you run the risk of having the tool or even parts flying injuring you or damaging the vehicle. I have this tool & ask me how I know about flying tools.
Yeah, I was using an air gun to turn the bolt on essentially the same tool and the tool shot out under such pressure, it hit my wood cabinet a few feet away. I also noticed it did it let off a little smoke when it dislodged itself. I was very lucky the tool didn't come flying out at me. Now I'm scared to use the tool. So this doesn't happen if you crank the bolt by hand?
The ball joint never moved it’s still in the same spot look how many threads there is in the beginning and look when he is done it never moved it slipped off of the bolt!!!!!!
I feel you! I had one of these break before, and also had one shoot out with such extreme force, it dented my wood cabinets a few feet away. I was very lucky it didn't propel itself at me. I'm just going to try to smack the square side of the spindle and see if that works.
I am always anxious when i use this tool. The sudden pop freaks me out. Never fails.
Wish I still had my bmw just so I could fix stuff on it by following your videos 😂
I used one to extract lug studs from a rotor, did great
I bought the HF front end service kit. Great stuff.
Great, a good one. I have broken so many of those types of tools, all of them.
Got the same one it’s never failed me yet 😂
I have two of these, they work great!!!

My grand dad told me that same thing

Great i need to buy one; i tried to strike the ball joint with a hammer and it didnt work😢
Sp good he even threw it on the floor
😂💀
That puts too much stress on the ball joint if reusing?
I've had mine for 9 years. Put anti seize on it. Used it, paid for itself a thousand times over. Never use a impact on it
lol i broke one of these on an e46 front control arm, but harbor freight replaced it for free
Gearwrench one is beefier
I just hit the yoke with a hammer and ball joints just pop out

Bro, I just broke three in one day
I broke that tool and am now afraid to use it. It almost took my face off
