Young people today don’t realize how massive a star Hogan was, he was bigger than wrestling in mid 80’s

Absolutely, you can’t get it unless you lived through it - he was the biggest thing in sports and entertainment, in general.

I got turned away in LA right at the ticket both. So I never saw Hulk live. They were selling those "Hulk Rules" shirts off the freeway into the arena in LA. Hulk was so over you had to witness it. I can remember when you barely heard his music at times when he came out.

You hear people talk about the Rock and Stone Cold being super famous but I don't think any wrestler was ever as famous as 1980s Hogan.

@@finhyland4270 Yeah Rock and Austin only had 4 years as the top guys (98-01 for Austin) (99-02 for Rock). While Hogan was the top guy in all the 80's and the 90's. Rock and Austin get too much credit for only being around/on top for a handful of years.

I was always a Brawler fan, i just liked the underdogs most the time. But i gotta admit, clearly Brawler is a bigger fan of Brawler than anyone else. He was at a local show in my area back in July, and sad to say a lot of people weren't flooding his line for autographs. I wanted to thank him got the memories, but he snuck out mid show

Traveling and seeing HULKSTER work live back in the early to mid 80s must of been unreal. I remember looking around at the crowd at Exhibition Stadium in 86 and seeing people crying the moment they caught sight of him

It's not that the Brooklyn Brawler was ever a great wrestler, but he was a loyal employee and a true blue NYC northeast guy. He was sort of the WWE version of Glass Joe from the game Punch Out - a preliminary guy who no-one ever took seriously. Having said that, I'm quite sure Steve Lombardi is as tough as anyone else if needs be.
But it's strange to me that he never won a WWE title. Not even a stint with the hardcore belt during its 24/7 phase. I mean, if 'Godfather's Ho' could get on that illustrious list of holders for the belt, I'd say Brawler warranted a turn.
But really, what WWE should have done with him one time was give him a Cinderella story moment where he won the IC title in NYC. Basically, a TV/PPV version of what they did with him on that house show he talked about. The live crowd would have gone nuts for it.

With how hectic the schedule was for WWF in the 80s,it probably felt like 400 if we're being honest. Yeah Hogan way over exaggerated the days he work, but I have no problem believing he worked well over 320 days with that schedule.

Hogan clearly stated multiple times that he worked 400 matches and year and not 400 days but this is how Hogan haters work, they call him a liar while using lies on him. Hogan said he worked double to triple shows a day sometimes in the 80's for which we know is true. The WWF would do double shows in the same arena on the same day and sometimes two shows a day in close arenas. I wonder how long Hogan haters are going to hold on to these silly lies they love telling on him

Traveling with Hogan? Wouldn't be surprised if Hogan would have told him made up stories like he invented streets and cars. 😂

The steroids pickled Hogan so he will live forever and he will look the same and the stories will get better.

Steve Lombardi has nothing bad to say about Hogan because he was his lackey. He wasn't a threat, so Hogan didn't crush him. And no one would say anything bad about Hogan in front of him because he would probably tell Hogan.

you just made up your own spin to suit your bias. This is the problem with professional wrestling fans, you all weren't there and yet talk like you were to know the little nuances of how things worked or who did what. Most shoot interviews about Hogan were positive and as usual the silly fans have this NEED to find some reason to hate him. There are no stories of Hogan crushing people's career's but you need this to be true.

@1980Triumph you need to listen to more wrestlers than. Hogan was always lying and getting people in trouble. I also see that I triggered you because you are butt sore.

@1980Triumph I'm sorry if I butt-hurt you. You are presenting an argument of authority, which never works. I don't have to be a wrestler to know. There's books, videos, podcasts, biographies, and one on one meet and greets, among other things. There's plenty of ways to get information and formulate my own opinion.
