When Hogan, had the belt then it was not good For business, that was a 💩 year, lucky Bret had the belt back, 1994, Saying that we did have king of the ring in 93, that was pretty damn good, with Bret,
Bret should've been Champ at WM IX. Hogan was part time and Bret was full time so Bret should've been Champ. Also there's no way Hogan would ever lose to Bret Hart's Sharpshooter at Summerslam. 3 Guys during that time would never lose by Submission and they are The Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, and Hulk Hogan.
Where I live (Thunder Bay) Bret did a signing event at the boys and girls club. He had just suffered a stroke but I didn't care so I asked to take a picture with him and my newborn daughter. He teared up a bit and told me after that was the first offer to hold a baby since the stroke. As a Canadian kid he will always be my champ.
In a way it's interesting. But me as a child thinks about that in a sad way. As you had the idea that all your heroes are all friends for real. And then it's all about the money and who the star is and one guy screw another over to be in that spot.
@@boraonline7036I disagree I always looked at it as a sport. That’s why I always liked the heels more because they were focused on winning titles and doing whatever they can
I put a lot of this on Vince. He added fuel to the fire. One, I don't believe Vince was ever fully sold on Bret being the top guy because Vince loves bigger guys. Two, he created more friction between Hulk and Bret by telling Bret all the negative stuff Hogan said about him as opposed to setting them both down in the same room and let them iron out their issues.
@@landismceachin6492 but Vince loved HBK who was even shorter than Bret. Randy Savage and Roddy Piper weren't big guys either. Hell even Austin was barely six foot. All around 5'10-6'0.
People still call Bret a 'mark' for himself or taking himself too seriously or delusional. Yet decades later, his words and work have proven to be the most solid and truthful even more. People consistently come out years later and confirm all of this. That's absolutely rare in an industry like that.
It's really just people that are douchebags that don't like Bret. Tell me one guy that's not gonna be mad from the boss saying "you're going to get a huge cash bonus the next 7-8-9 years" and then strip it all away because some co-worker returned and get the last say in everything.
@@user-fr1ys2wn4t Brett will always be mentioned when they talk about the best worker of all time. A great wrestler that got to the top on in-ring skills and match storytelling. I completely sympathize with a lot of Brett's animosity towards various wrestlers and some of the business. However, one thing Brett didn't seem to fully grasp or refused to was that the WWF/WWE is a business 1st. When Hogan interacts in the organization, for example, it's on a business level. Since WWF/WWE is a business anyone employed/has a contract with that business isn't doing anything wrong when they're trying to elevate their status (which means increased paychecks) in that business. It's part of the game. In business, things like loyalty aren't transactional and you should expect none will be returned. It's always been like that and it'll always be like that.
Yeah. The only reasons people had to not like Bret was that he wasn't full of bullshit. Especially in such a business where 2/3 of the people are all full of shit.
I’ll never forget that episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia when the characters described Hulk Hogan as having the silken hair of a Chinese man and the skin of a hot dog. 😆😆😆
I think hogan's deal was he didn't like to lose clean to the "smaller" guys. Over the course of his career, almost every clean hogan loss was to giants or people of similar physical stature.
You just mentioned the elephant in the room. Kayfabe and storyline continuity was still somewhat a thing then and quite honestly it would have looked ridiculous at that time for Hogan to have lost by submission to Hart in the middle of the ring.
@@jasonh5547Would it look ridiculous? Bret had wins over Perfect, Piper and Flair. He won KOTR with three wins in one night, including Bigelow. He had Yoko beat before the salt to the eyes by Fuji. He would have been believable.
If I was Hogan at that time, I would not have wanted to lose to Bret either. Bret’s was not red hot, he was just hot enough for the time. When they did Babyface Vs Babyface with the Warrior. It made sense. Hogan would have just been putting Bret over before he left for WCW. That would “work for me brother”either.
@woody5581 Imagine the poor waitress hetting Brett at the table. He would be complaining about the chairs, table, silverware, glass, decor. Just droning on and on with complaining

The hero of my childhood. When I started watching wrestling as a 10 year old in 1992, Bret was always the true superstar for me. Of course there were other good guys... The Undertaker, Razor Ramon (later in WCW I realized how good he really was), Shawn Michaels, The British Bulldog, Randy Savage, Big Boss Man and Owen Hart. Of course, it was all a bit over the top and the storylines and gimmicks were completely corny. But that was still a really good time in wrestling. I still enjoy watching the PPVs from the 90s.
Bret Hart was truly inspiring to me also. That match between him and Austin will always be GOATED to me. Bret showed me the true art of wrestling and he's one of the reasons I'll always care for the craft.
@@reginald6451 see, Shawn’s best work is his second run when he came back and decided making his opponent look foolish for little mistakes wasn’t actually making him look better. Like he even did it to his “friend” Kevin Nash. The Jackknife spot where he makes it look like an awful botch when he undoubtedly had the skill to cover for it and make it look clean. And he did this to so many people in his first run. That’s something Bret would just never do because he cared about how the match in total looked more than he cared about himself looking better than his opponent.
Bret was great in the ring but his personality just sucked. His promos were lousy. Hogan was a douchebag but he brought in the big money so Vince wanted him at the top. Obviously, Bret Hart was a MUCH better wrestler than Hulk Hogan but professional wrestling wasn't just about in ring work. Bret Hart had many classic matches and was one of the best in ring guys of all time.
@@Thor-OrionPerhaps so. The issue is that HBK and Hogan are bigger draws than Bret Hart. Even if you can technically call their individual matches inferior to Bret Hart's, they were bigger draws. The average WWF/WWE fan cannot go about the technicalities of what makes a "good" wrestling match. Especially not in the "is wrestling is real or fake?" era. Most fans also would not have understood a "botch," they'd just notice something odd happened during a battle, then ignore it.
I watched his match with Bulldog from SummerSlam 92 at Wembley yesterday. I watched it once before, a few months ago and thought it was great, and re watched it yesterday, and I now have a renewed appreciation for it. Absolutely incredible wrestling match! One of the best I've ever seen!
Best part is that at the start of the match Davy leant in to Bret and said ‘Bret, I’m f*cked.’ Davy was wasted and had forgotten the match he and Bret had worked out beforehand, so Bret had to basically improvise the whole thing with a drunk Bulldog, and it was still an amazing match.
Wrestlemania 9 was so bad. The opening match with Michaels and Tatanka was probably the best match on the card. If not, The Steiners and Headshrinkers.
Dude that would’ve been fucking phenomenal. Between Macho’s neurotic planning of the match, and his dedication to give the fans their money’s worth and Hart’s dedication to the business, that would’ve been an absolute classic. There is no way that those two Superstars would’ve just gone out there and phoned it in. It would’ve been an instant classic, guaranteed.
because he is bitter and thinks it was real and he was really the best therefore deserved to be champion lol if he really believed that why didnt he shoot and stretch yoko and hulk lol cuz hes a coward

The reason I always trust what Bret says is because his stories never change, he’s consistent and he certainly has things to be bitter about. Namely that he worked to make it to the top and Vince was always trying to switch out the title on him.
Did you not realize that the majority of this interview is Brett telling us what he THINKS happened and providing no actual evidence? Consistent in his own imagination on the situation and not based in reality and you fans eat it up like it is fact....smh
He’d have walked back into WWE in 2001/2002 if he hadn’t been cabbaged by Goldberg , and that’s literally the difference, he’s really hard to listen to you can tell he gets stiff about beating people over earning money so that kind of makes him a mark cuz he believed the wins and losses were everything over all
Bret Hart is the greatest technical wrestler of all time because he could wrestle people without using tables, ladders, and chairs. He wrestled Owen Hart in a steel cage without spilling a drop of blood and it’s considered one of the greatest steel cage matches of all time. Made very few mistakes in the ring and there was some integrity about him in his business dealings. Definitely up there with Lou Thez, Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund. Very honorable people.
@@42663 Naw, he’s the best. Didn’t need to put on a bunch of high spots to entertain the fans. Matches are regarded as legendary. Bret was treated unjustly because of his integrity and respect for the business. He was in his right to be angry. Over the years, Bret has coped with the past and learned to forgive. Ego? Absolutely, but then again if you’re top 10 all time, you deserve to have an ego.
Kind of a consequence of losing the wrong people from the Golden Era even though it was just beginning. It didn't help they relegated Macho Man and Piper to the commentator's table.
I honestly think that’s why Vince went all out on the physical appearance of it. Being outside and having a cool set was a slight distraction from how bad the card actually was
Bret “The Hitman” Hart truly is the best ever to me. His matches, promos, stories, legacy hold up stronger than anyones from that time. I could watch all of his matches right now and be into it like I was a kid. He had an x-factor nobody ever had, and athletically on par with the field
His promos made sense for HIM, he showed anger when he had to but was low-tone mostly cause his character fit it, yeah hes not Flair, Dusty, Piper, Austin, Rock, Jake, Arn, but that’s the upper upper echelon. I dont know his promos were fine to me
@@JohnnyDouchbag-nr5yf Yes, promos were the weakest part of his game. He even admits Piper told him he was a great technical wrestler, but he needed to be a good talker to draw. It has to be close to 50/50 anyway. Bret was a little lacking on the mic. Got a bit better later, but not quite there.
Exactly! He’s just a big baby. “When I won the title” He never won anything. Would be like Robert Downey Jr saying “when me and the avengers saved the world” you were playing a script. The script changed. Get over it.

I'd venture to guess Vince played guys against each other pretty regularly. Hogan has a bad reputation for this kind of stuff, but I doubt it was ever that simple. Pro wrestling is about putting butts in seats, drawing huge tv ratings, drawing huge ppv buy rates, and selling merchandise. I have seen Hogan wrestle on many occasions. He is a showman and an entertainer. Anyone who sees him is not expecting lots of holds and counter holds. In Japan Hogan actually employed a more technical style. He was a very good chain wrestler. Hogan in the USA and throughout the world was the biggest star in the business throughout the 1980s. He propelled the NWO to lead WCW to win 83 consecutive weeks in the Monday Night Ratings war. Hogan is absolutely in the GOAT conversation for pro wrestling.
Even as someone who never liked Bret, his booking was absurd. Bret is a guy who is full of so close moments which could have made for fantastic wrestling. A match with Hogan at SummerSlam in ‘93, another match with Austin at WrestleMaina 14. A big time money feud with Hogan or someone when he debuts in WCW. Maybe if he doesn’t get concussed he does some indie dates. Just imagine Bret Hart in an early 2000’s ROH. Having a 30 minute match with Joe on his ROH World Title run, a feud with CM Punk after his 60 minute draw with Joe. A battle with Danielson in 2006. Bret on the second rope but Joe catches him and sets him up for the Muscle Buster but Bret counters in a small package Punk vs Bret is a money match because if Punk (as shown in his AEW run) LOVES Bret. I’ve been thinking and seeing some Terry Funk stuff recently and his feud with Ric Flair is an older veteran trying to keep up with the younger generation. That could be the theme of the ROH run. Would Bret do it? I don’t know but I’d love to have seen
Had owen not died in WWE and he had not been concussed, bret would've came back, fought angle, brock, reborn shawn, Jericho, Cena, faster taker, he had almost 10 years left in tank
Bret vs Angle man! Would have been great to see. Bret vs Michaels’ second coming. Bret vs early 2000s Triple H. Bret easily had ten more years left in him prior to his concussion. He even mentions it in his 1997 doc: “10 more years of wrestling”!
This dude’s got the best wrestling book out there. Most of the others are filtered, sponsored by the wwe publishing machine. Bret got his own publisher and put it all out there, no holds barred. Truly the best of the best!
I hate reading, I find it so boring that ill start day dreaming and have to go back a few pages because I can't remember what I read. I do believe Brett on this, he comes off very authentic and intelligent. Hogan is definitely known as someone who would do anything he had to do to stay as the top guy and it’s probably a big reason he always stayed as a top guy over all those years. Also this friendly outgoing charismatic but sort of 2 faced behavior is definitely a trademark of many Floridians, which is where Hogan is from.

Bret double crossed was he the boss? He should have done what he was told to do then they wouldn't have had to do it in other ways. Bret didn't own the organization and it was is a scripted fucking show he really wasn't the champ of shit. If it was real wrestling he wanted he should have tried out for the Olympic wrestling team. As far as Owen goes it was an accident he didn't intend to die. Bret acted like a child.
Hogan was a douche because the boss agreed with Hogan wanting to make the most money? You don’t think every single other wrestler wanted the same spot?
9:10 people may think Bret is bullshitting but keep in mind that Vince thought Bret would drop the title to Shawn, no problem, despite the problems they had. Vince is a little weird like that, to say the least
Many go on about Bret Hart’s abysmal WCW run but his main event run in the WWF between 1992 & 1997 (before Steve Austin was mega-over) could’ve been better too. All those years Vince McMahon tried to push Lex Luger, Diesel & Shawn Michaels who couldn’t draw a dime but everyone wanted to see the Hitman in the main event scene as World Champ. The Hitman between 1992 & 1997 should have main evented at least 4 WrestleManias during that time considering how over he was back then before The Attitude Era
Hmm was it maybe because Bret was a total failure? Was it maybe because his first run as Champion made him the worst drawing WWF Champion in History (and would remain so until 2001)? Was it maybe because in 1994 he got outdrawn by the Undertaker and the B-Squad on the House Shows? Was it maybe because in 1994 he completely destroyed Calgary for the WWF (drawing only 6,400 and 4,000 to the Saddledome, a venue that holds 20,000 and WWF thought Bret vs. Owen for the Championship in their hometown would sell it out)? Was it maybe because he still holds two distintive records? 1. Main Eventing the lowest selling WWF PPV of all time (IYH5, didn't even reach 80,000 buys) 2. The World Champion with the by far, absolute lowest MSG Attendance EVER (4,300 on August 25, 1994, 1000 tickets handed out for free) Btw: Diesel was the first WWF Champion to sell out the Madison Square Garden (May 1996) after a near 7 year dry spell (September 1989 being the last time), for a House Show. Did you know that Diesel actually ranks pretty much in the middle of all WWF Champions when it comes to drawing power? He main evented IYH5, it did 100,000 buys. 25%+ buys more than Bret did with IYH5.

I do not really know how can you say he wasn't hurt. Are you hogan? Undertaker's take of it is very ignorant: a guy can be easily hurt by the way he is being handled. I understand he want to defend himself, but accidents happen and, frankly, hogan has not an history of faking injuries
Bret is just riding the wave these days, since he knows that some of the loud voices online are anti hogan he always throws his potshots every now and then to keep the flame going, which in turn makes him feel like he was bigger than hogan, when in reality we the majority of people in this world know what it is, hulk on the other hand always shows him love, not saying that he didn't do him dirty in the past but it's wrestling these type of things happen all the time.
I had heard the original plan was Bret was going to defeat Yokozuna which would have been during the middle of the card and Hogan and Beefcake were going to beat Money INC for the belts in the last match so WM9 would have ended with Hogan celebrating at the end as a champion anyway however Hogan decided the tag team belts were beneath him and wanted the WWF belt again so the finishes were changed as were the order of the matches as well.
Originally Hogan wasn’t even going to be on the show because Money Inc was supposed to be defending the Tag Team Championships against The Nasty Boys but then plans changed when Hogan came back.

It it was Bret's style of wrestling still prevailing today, I'd still be a wrestling nut. Not just a fancy catchphrase, he was the best there is, best there was and best there ever will be.
I remember thinking how weird that WrestleMania was as a kid. I was a huge Hogan fan and then a huge Bret fan. It was a decent consolation prize to have Hogan win it after, but I preferred Bret to have kept the title at that Mania. Really weird time though.
I guess. Lot of hart fans here. Cool. As a kid you don’t know and shouldn’t have the responsibility of caring at that age about all the adult drama, but for me, there was nothing like hulk hogan. Yeh I liked others, macho man, junkyard dog, roc flair, etc. but there was nothing like hulk. You hear the backstories nowadays about how many players hated Jordan… but like Jordan did for basketball, nobody did for wrestling what hulk did for it. Because of hulk, the way was paved for an Undertaker, a Steve Austin, a Cena, a Rock, etc
Brett was amazing and to those who call him a whiner, you would likely be worse if you lived a fraction of his life. He totally has to speak the truth and open the eyes of fans on what hes been through
@@SSJ2Phenom I mean, if my whole career was destroyed and my way of life due to a crippling injury, id probably be frustrated too. You can tell how personal the business was to him! Like he saw himself as the legit world champ. You can hear it in his voice. I feel for Bret, he's always been in my top 3!
LOL. That makes him a mark for himself. I imagine him giving his wife the thumbs up while on the phone with Vince, "we're gettin my belt back baby"!! What a bum.

So many idiots on here talking about how Bret is always complaining but hes answering the questions he's asked, his opinion would have been the same 30 years ago and if 30 years on somebody asks the same old questions about the same old event wtf is he gonna do? He's being paid for an appearence and getting asked the same questions about his career, they can't sit and talk about Brets grandkids cos thats not what they're there for
Every single wrestler has these stories. Except hulk hogan. He was the biggest draw and took full advantage of it. He earned his dues like everyone else. But once his career took off. He used that leverage all the time.
With everything the WWF and Vince did to him and his family I’d say he has every right to be salty, if that’s how people think he’s coming across. To me he’s just chill and speaking his opinion
Bret Hart had me dying with laughter!! I love his dry sense of humor and his cynical side. I was cracking up especially when he said he was in the kitchen and got excited over news he got on the phone and then Vince said “ There’s only one problem.” I think we all knew where that was going!!😂 Also when he found out he was going to wrestle Lawler and he was like, Come On!! real sarcastic like. Dude, that was cold!!!😅 Lawler is a wrestling legend.
I don't think it was anything personal against Lawler, but more from a narrative point of view there was no sense in switching gear and having him feud with Lawler when he had just been screwed out of a world title. You want to keep him close to that and not side-line him into a meaningless feud that will go nowhere.
As an adult, I learned about Memphis wrestling and found out about the King's legendary career there, but as a kid, I had no clue about that and just thought he was annoying. It probably didn't have that much impact because he wasn't established yet there
@@jermaineevans6910 Yeah, I certainly didn’t remember him much as a kid either. Although he was a great wrestler and super over in Memphis, his name in the WWF was nowhere near as big as a Hulk Hogan, an Ultimate Warrior, or a Bret Hart.

I really relate to Bret Hard worker but not the best with people and can’t keep his opinion to himself. I’ve worked with a lot of hulk hogans and it takes a long time for everyone to realise
Just going to remind everyone that had they not taken the title off of Bret that we would have been denied the greatest post match promo in history at the next Royal Rumble when Owen famously said, "That's why I kicked you leg out of your leg."
I can imagine Vince saying that he wanted this to be a long title reign but I doubt that he said that he was thinking about a 7 or 8 year long title reign.
Technical GOAT he was my hero when I was a kid still to this day at 38 years old if I ran into Brett and he put his sunglasses on me I would freak out 😂😂😂
Generally I believe Brett over Hogan, but Brett's definitely full of it at times. Saying he was the most popular wrestler, saying Hall and Nash agreed with him (Nash denies this), saying 'everyone' in the locker room was 'pissed' Vince took the belt off Brett (yeah, right). Brett's as much of an egomaniac as Hogan. Probably why they hate each other.
I honestly doubt that hogan, hall or nash give a shit...hall always said that bret was a mark, kev said that he took the business too seriously ect ect, so at the end of the day I don't think hulk is sitting somewhere on the beach and thinking about bret on the other hand I pretty sure bret is.
Bret saying Hogan wouldn’t put him over before he went to WCW yet Bret didn’t want to put over Shawn before going to WCW. Pot calling the kettle black. Bret has issues with everyone it seems.
Bruh Bret legit told Shawn he would put him over with no problem and Shawn was an asshole about it and disrespected him instead. Do you even know what you’re talking about?? Clearly not
I dont believe Vince told him he would have the belt for 7 or 8 years. I think that what Bret wants to believe. And once Hogan left, the Austin era began shortly after, because Bret didnt draw money.
You’re crazy. Lol. Vince was like a slimy used car salesman. He took advantage of Bret’s loyalty and dedication. Mania IX and The Screwjob… I love Hulkster but he had an out of control ego. Bret’s not lying
I mean at the time it made sense and regardless of Bret's feelings about it, Hogan was a bigger draw than he was, his time was Champion marks one of the low points of the WWF in terms of buy-rates and revenue. He can't really complain too much
The buy rates losses was down to really weak rosta and underwhelming undercard matches more than bret not drawing as it was the same with diesel and with Shawn Michaels when they were wwf champs main eventing!
In 2000, after WCW Bret wrote this glowing article about the real Hulk Hogan and how he took all the time for the kids and his demeanor. The Calgary Sun. You can find it now. This was long after WM9 so what changed?
I was a fan back in Bret’s day and I got to admit he wasn’t my favourite at the time but looking back he definitely put on some of the best matches I’ve ever seen
Simple as this, Bret was lied to about the promotion that management gave him. They took it away from him and gave it to one of their favorites. Just like the real world. The hard worker gets shafted while their favorites get all the breaks. Such is life
LOL, Hogan outdrew Brett at every stage of their career's - you marks act like Hogan was an empty champion, he was a global superstar, at his lowest he was bigger than Brett at his top. Hogan earned his spot and consideration. When Hogan came back to the WWF it exploded again, his match with the Rock and others are major history - what did Brett do when he came back???????
Hogan: I didn't use steroids. Reality: He lied. He jumped on the NWO bandwagon(Hall & Nash) to stay relevant. If you look, back with open eyes, he wasn't all that
I wrote a letter to the WWF over the wrestlemania 9 finish. I was 10 years old and still a mark and I was so disappointed about how Bret was cheated out of the title. I received a format letter back, which was nice for 10 year old me, that basically said "the finish stands." I'll never forget the feeling of disappointment and that was when I began to dislike hulk Hogan
Sould have said: "Whatcha Gonna Do you little Brother when Hulk Hogan and his Hulkamaniacs dosen't give a Flying Fuck about you?" Would fit to somebody like Hogan.
What always surprises me about Bret is his talk about loyalty in a carny world/atmosphere, like he didn't know it was filled with snakes and cutthroats - and he grew up in this carny/wrestling world. Hogan got that, and played the game better than anybody, including the best to play the game i.e. Austin, Shawn, Nash etc.
Working sumemrslam with Bret would have been the best move for hogan so wrong there buddy. And he helped drive wcw out of business when he could have continued to use wcw vs wwe as leverage against each other. In Japan Hogan actually employed a more technical style. He was a very good chain wrestler.

Another reason hulk loss the belt to yoko is when hulk was doing a tour in Japan he called the WWF belt a toy. And that got Vince angry
Even as someone who never liked Bret, his booking was absurd. His first world title win was at a house show with zero build, his second (over Yoko) was a fluke that came after Vince tried to make Lex his next Hogan, then Bret had to carry Diesel and play second fiddle some more, then Shawn, it's ridiculous. He was NEVER treated like the chosen face of the company, only as a backup plan.
Truth is, Vince was truly sold in him.

Considering that his first run as Champion made him the worst drawing WWF Champion of all time until he was dethroned by Brock Lesnar in 2001 and that the still holds the distinction of having main evented the lowest drawing WWF PPV of all time (IYH5) he really just should've shut up and count his lucky stars, especially considering that half the WWF was against putting the belt on Bret, with Jack Tunney even warning Vince that it would be a horrendous idea.
Bret on the second rope but Joe catches him and sets him up for the Muscle Buster but Bret counters in a small package
Punk vs Bret is a money match because if Punk (as shown in his AEW run) LOVES Bret.
He even mentions it in his 1997 doc: “10 more years of wrestling”!
shawn did the same thing to bret but at least it turned into bret vs austin which was even better and possibly the goat mania match
The match I wanted was Bret vs Angle.

Exactly.
1. Main Eventing the lowest selling WWF PPV of all time (IYH5, didn't even reach 80,000 buys)
2. The World Champion with the by far, absolute lowest MSG Attendance EVER (4,300 on August 25, 1994, 1000 tickets handed out for free)
Btw: Diesel was the first WWF Champion to sell out the Madison Square Garden (May 1996) after a near 7 year dry spell (September 1989 being the last time), for a House Show. Did you know that Diesel actually ranks pretty much in the middle of all WWF Champions when it comes to drawing power? He main evented IYH5, it did 100,000 buys. 25%+ buys more than Bret did with IYH5.

Lol @ Hogan tapping to a Sharpshooter at Summerslam? Who in what world thought that was going to go over with Hogan?
Bret would've wrestled circles around Hogan. Are u fucking kidding me lol?
@@edgar22452that’s not his point. It’s the fact that Hogan hated losing/putting people over in general.
@@richwoerner5876 I know dude. Hogan was a selfish son of a bitch who refused to put people over. A piece of shit he was.
@@edgar22452 it's f'k fake, bret would done what vince told him to do.
@@bdot187um I don't give 2 shit about it being real or not. Hogan only cared about Hogan. Period.
I dont believe Vince told him he would have the belt for 7 or 8 years. I think that what Bret wants to believe. And once Hogan left, the Austin era began shortly after, because Bret didnt draw money.
Yeah 7 years is a stretch to believe. But also remember Bret played a huge role in Austin's rise.
Bret Hart lies constantly
Bret drew money. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
@@johnjames5405 not anywhere near Hogans drawing power.
He can't really complain too much
He did pretty well considering the whole business was in shit then, its doing well now.
The buy rates losses was down to really weak rosta and underwhelming undercard matches more than bret not drawing as it was the same with diesel and with Shawn Michaels when they were wwf champs main eventing!
buy rates didn't go down b/c of Bret
buy rates went down b/c Hogan + others could no longer put a roid needles in their arms
@@Radeo Lol, right cause Davey Boy wasn't doing roids in the 90s, the buyrates crashed HARD during the 2 years Bret and Diesel were running the show.
@@liquidsnake6879 Bret marks dont want to hear this
The problem i have is nothing is ever Bret's fault. In EVERY situation it is someone else who is the problem.
In 2000, after WCW Bret wrote this glowing article about the real Hulk Hogan and how he took all the time for the kids and his demeanor. The Calgary Sun. You can find it now. This was long after WM9 so what changed?
I luv bret hart i think hes truly one of the goats and appreciate all the matches and stories hes given us, but man this guy is a mark lol ❤
Brets telling truth i remeber the picture with him and Hogan on superstars and being so excited they were gonna wrestle
Lol yeah hulk was a big star , you marks act like your 8 years old and hogan still moving like he did in the early 80s
Was a huge Bret and Hulk fan. I don’t care how many bad things are said about Hulk he’ll always be one of my heroes.
Which in today's money is $50
That’s hilarious
Sould have said: "Whatcha Gonna Do you little Brother when Hulk Hogan and his Hulkamaniacs dosen't give a Flying Fuck about you?"
Would fit to somebody like Hogan.
Do you still have the letter? I would’ve kept something like that.
@@nicotoscani1707 he means the reply WWF sent back
That wrestle mania was the last time I was ever able to make it to a show.good memories.
My favorite wrestler of all time!! Bret's always been a stand-up honest individual.
His ex wife would differ.
@@Director2024
Wow
Stfu
His ex wife even said they are good now
I really like how dry Bret is really funny
I loved Bret Hart as a child! He was believable and credible.
Thanks for the video, INSIDE THE ROPES
What always surprises me about Bret is his talk about loyalty in a carny world/atmosphere, like he didn't know it was filled with snakes and cutthroats - and he grew up in this carny/wrestling world. Hogan got that, and played the game better than anybody, including the best to play the game i.e. Austin, Shawn, Nash etc.
Working sumemrslam with Bret would have been the best move for hogan so wrong there buddy. And he helped drive wcw out of business when he could have continued to use wcw vs wwe as leverage against each other. Did hogan make the business better as a whole I believe he did but there are also some bad things he did for the business and could have made it even greater. This selfish outlook you are describing is ignorant
Vince McMahon played the wrestling business game better than everyone he understood you need others to advance Vince has his men that he’s never betrayed that’s why Vince is Vince and hogan is ostracized from the industry legacy fleeting the younger generation don’t respect him
@@pleaseshutup7053Vince was raised in the business and bought the company from his dad as he was dying to avoid estate taxes. In other words, he gets undeserved credit and he isn't ostracized because he owned the company.
@@joshuasteward6097 interesting point
It's because he was a naive mark that was spoiled by Stu.
