I have discovered only today this video. In the period from 1982 to 1984 I have served on GDR page with the border troops. I was stationed in Andenhausen and later in Geisa. This video originated in 1983. At this time I was a commander on the leadership place. During the carnival time we had raised alert. We dealt daily with the Americans on the opposing side. It was a very exciting time.
I ask for excuse for my bad English.

Was stationed there between 81-87. A blast from the pass no doubt...

Played a USO show here with my band back in May of 1985. Wow, this video is surreal!

A Trp, 1/11th ACR, 11D Recon Scout, '79-'81. Some of the best and most memorable times in my life. I was 19 when I arrived in Fulda, next week (9-30-2022) I'll be 63.

Fulda and OP Alpha 81-83, then Schweinfurt and Coburg 86-89 where we stayed in motor pool Bays on a German Kaserne while they were upgrading the US facilities (never saw the US facilities, but did get to watch and train with the BGS.

Amen. Lived it. My first year in the Blackhorse in 1989, I spent nine months in the field. Does that explain anything?

I was in Hanau, not too far from you. I feel your pain. I did 6 Graf rotations. We put the field in field artillery.

0:56, so I guess it was pointless to have the binos and just use the daysight on that old TOW system. What if you need a fire mission? The thermosight isn't going to make any difference since it takes time to warm up. Wait, I don't see any wires connecting to the battery on that thing so its pointless ot have that thermosight mounted on top. LOL
