Same as for the 1970's however Turkey loaf and Beef with potatoes were my favorite.
I thought the old C- rations like these guys had, were much better than the MRE's that replaced them.
You gotta be kidding even the 1st gen MREs than most C’s. Although Chicken or Turkey with Pound Cake and Ham and Eggs Chopped were mighty good.
@@sgtmayhem7567 The first generation that came out around 1984 were nasty.
There were some meals that weren't bad, but generally, nobody liked them.
These were not exactly C-Rations, but they were pretty close. These were the "Individual Combat Rations" from the 60's, 70's, and then somewhat into the 80's. They were pretty good; likely more/less equal to the first 5 years or so of the MRE's. After the mid-90's, the MRE's became way, way better.
1980s was Amazing Gold Decade in USA
Yes it was, and we loved it.
Thank you for the posting this outstanding video. What unit jumped the Blackhawk and what year was this filmed? I never saw a Turkey Loaf C-Rat. I got to the 82nd Airborne at the end of 1982 and they were already wearing Kevlar helmets. I jumped a Huey in Recondo School, it was very cool. It still amazes me how tight ass cheeks can grip the floor of a chopper when your sitting in the door with no safety strap. Soft Landings.
These guys look to be 101st airborne from reference pictures and footage alot of those guys didnt get kevlar helmets till 86-87
nice hiss
Ft.Devans?
What year did MREs come out?
MREs started getting issued in 81, but IIRC from reading, MCIs weren't fully replaced until the early 90s.
C- rats were good, if you had hot sauce and you were acquainted with how add cheese and crackers to Ham and Motherf#$@ers.
