You can brown the meat and sautee the onions for carmelization and unlocking more flavor/aromatization other than that you can add raw meat to a slow cooker is what it is for. I keep seeing comments like you can't add raw meat to a slow cooker which is crazy. You slow cook your food/meat for 4 - 8 hours that is what its there for.😂
Cooking from FROZEN is not safe for a slow cooker but yeah you're absolutely right that RAW meat should be just fine! Personally I cannot imagine not browning my meat for flavor at least lol

No chef/ cook would take the time to make it " pretty" in a crock pot. Throw it all in together, so it will meld and flavor up! This is coming from a person who spent 30+ years in the food industry!

Right? I like the ingredients, but I just don’t think this is a crock pot recipe. The consistency was off. You also have to be careful with putting pasta in a crock pot. It overcooks, expands, and absorbs all the liquid if you don’t turn off the heat quickly. I’d season, brown, and crumble the ground beef ahead of time. Same with the pasta, and I wouldn’t add it to the crock pot, I’d serve it at serving time to prevent overcooking. Why not pour the mixture 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 the separately cooked pasta? Which then defeats the purpose of using the crock pot altogether. 🤷🏽♀️
Yes!! The onions should be browned a little too. Leafy herbs like basil and parsley should be added in the end. Only 'harder' herbs, like thyme and rosemary could be added in the beginning. I mean it actually takes just 1 whole hour alone just for the crockpot to get going ... So if something takes 3 hours to cook then you're supposed to set your timer for four hours when dealing with a crockpot, and the first hour of the crockpot cooking doesn't count... You never supposed to count the first hour simply because the first hour of the crockpot is when it's just starting to heat up... So many people don't realize that and make that mistake time and time again, her casserole dish l believed only cooked for one hour instead of two hours because she set the time for two hours and not three... Folks remember when you're cooking in a slow cooker the first hour do not count, always put an initial one hour on the initial time that you set on your crockpot...

Cooking isn’t your thing, Honey. It’s okay, you’re young, you’ll learn, it’s just going to take some traveling to the East Coast is all, where there’s no such thing as “hot dishes” (a/k/a “casseroles” for the rest of us) since the 1970s. That dish of yours is the furthest thing from Italian cooking as you can possibly get, which means it’s for sure a Midwest thing. First, Italians don’t use crockpots…..pressure cookers, Yes but not crockpots. Second, ALL the ingredients can never be from a jar or package - fresh only! The fact you think Rao’s sauce is the best, is evidence enough that you’ve never had real Italian food. Again, all this is fixable. Come East and you’ll quickly see what I mean. Best of Luck - see you soon!!

I respect how small and petite she is! I don’t see why you’re offended by my comment! Sorry, you don’t recognize a compliment!🤷🏽♂️
My stomach is upset??? Wah😢
I love how neat and clean this prep is… my kind of cooking … I can see everything very well and clearly follow you!!! Making it right now for dinner tonight… oh yum! ❤
Food safety 101 - cook ground beef before putting in slow cooker, especially with such a low cook time
It looks tasty! I would have used 2pounds of ground beef rather than one, considering how much cheese and sour cream is in there, plus sauce. I also would hv browned and at least partially drained the beef, depending on how high the fat content was. I will definitely try it.
Use lean ground beef because you don't want to much fat in there 😉 my god I put on 20kg just watching 👍
The hype is so overdone for how delicious EVERYTHING is! Please brown beef FIRST! TY for ur presentation
Love your recipes! Where can I get a cook book from you?
Puggy wants some foodie! 🐶🐾🐾🍽️😃👍lol hope it gets a taste!
I agree i would have cooked that ground beef first
It seems she is learning to cook. Of course, I appreciate the whole dump it in a pot and walk away.
Awesome! Love to dump in all and cook- Easy- Hot and Comfort food.
Thanks for the idea and video and just got home from the store and it’s all in the crockpot now cooking. I’m so excited I’ve got two hours lol can’t wait. Thank you
How was it?
It was wonderful thank you. I have made this many many times now.
So many have so much to say. If you we’re hungry and had nothing else, would you eat this? If so, keep you negativity to yourself. It is unnecessary.
So much weirdness here. Obviously not a frequent or experienced cook.
Best thing is the Pug at the end! 😂😂😂
Looks yummy Im making this!! Your puppy is adorable.
Why is she so thin? Most folks can’t eat like this they’ll get fat.
For real, she probably only eats the bite we see on camera. The food she makes is very fattening.
Maybe doggie seemed so interested because it smelled like dog food. Sorry! Always drain the beef.
Not on a bet, the raw ground beef is not ideal.
Finally someone who cooks like normal people!! I love your channel!
Are you serious? Lol
@loishunt2347 yup! Compared to the disgusting food people put together on here, this woman is awesome!
Normal people cook in a slow cooker? I must not be normal because I don't own one.
@@jsl8154 🤣🤣🤮
Cooking ground beef in a crockpot is a no for me. It didn’t look like it was completely done.
Curdled sour cream and raw beef mmmmm
Ever cook a roast?
@@kathyromeo8547 absolutely, even crock pot stroganoff. Sear the meat then slow cook, but add the sour cream at the end so it doesn't curdle. Just depends on the ingredients and meat.
But raw beef which has been handled multiple times and then ground added with all the other stuff and grease? No thank you. Cook it up a little bit drain it, add the ingredients and toss on sour cream at the end. And you're good to go.
Your recipes normally look delicious" but when it comes to Italian I probably wouldn't use cream cheese or cheddar but that's just my opinion you do you Justine.☺️☺️
You’re on the right track!! 😊
Looks really delicious and good.Do you have any more recipes like that to put their Chrome pot?Just curious thank you
Need to know what spices u used
“Oh my goodness every time. “ gonna be so good!
I would use plant based already browned ground be’f. Since I discovered Gardein ground be’f in the freezer section 2 years ago I haven’t used ground beef. It is so good and easy.
That is not beef.
Dont ever "cook" again - smh so painful to watch
Do you really need to buy diced onion in plastic package?! 🤦🏼♀️🙉🤯
I would of browned the meat in the crockpot first. Then add marinara sauce and cook until well mixed and absorbed on high. You could add uncooked pasta (spaghetti-rotini-penne, etc) at this point or add cooked pasta at end. Allow pasta to cook somewhat and then turn on low and add onions and green peppers(opt) and cheeses with cream cheese and sour cream and spices. Does not take long to cook veggies and others with it already hot. Cook until everything is melted and hot and pasta is done.
That meat did not look done to me 😮
You could substitute ricotta for the cream cheese.
Nothing Italian about that 😡
No kidding. I guess Taco Bell is Mexican food.
Oh honey, who taught you how to cook?
🤨 Girl, we gotta talk.
I'm sorry, I could never put ground beef in there without browning it first. But... Alas.... Each to his own, right? 😊
I ain’t gonna hold you. That looks crazy as hell.
Do you place a raw roast in your crockpot?
😢😢 ground beef wasn't even cooked All the way 😔😔
Looks gross, cream cheese with parm and cheddar? My stomach is doing flips
Definitely didnt reach 165F for at least 2 minutes. Gross
Wow! Thank you!! And no music?!!! I JUST SUBSCRIBED!!!! 😅
that looks disgusting. not sure if this was a "gotcha" video or not, but if not, it should be...
Not enough garlic to effect the dish, I would have cooked ground beef ahead of time, it looks like a tasty dish.
Doesn’t want too much grease in the crockpot, but adds about 2kg of assorted cheeses.
Cream cheese and sour cream is not italian
