thats wild bc if you look at amazon reviews, tons of ppl are saying it gets 204 weeks and thats it. from my experience it went down to 95% after 5min of use the other day. if yours is in the 80s after 2 weeks thats outstanding. i wonder why theres such a difference.
Hi there, and thanks for your comment. That is very odd. As of today the new battery has been installed for 2 full weeks and it's still at 85%, so I think I'm right on track for another 8-9 weeks. I don't have any real excessive power-saving modes or anything enabled and I get tons of notifications so I would be curious to compare settings as well. I have really been happy with the device.
@@GadgetguyzGadgets an update of mine. i installed it last night BUT i turned off all recording and turned sensitivity to the lowest setting. it was at 98% at 6pm yesterday, 16hrs later it's still at 98%. i think what people are doing is having it record every action or motion then uploading it to the cloud and thats whats draining their batteries.
@@showspotter That's awesome! Thanks for sharing that information. I beive I have found a good balance to provide me the alerts and notifications I want and the battery life I can live with.
Like your video. Thanks! I hard wired my myQ video opener because of what people posted and living with midwest winters. What I did will void the warranty of course. I can send photos of what I did if anyone is interested.
@@ronkumpitsch1480 Yeah I totally agree, that is rediculous and if I had that experience it would be a no go. I find it very odd that there are such different experiences with battery life. I know everyone's setup is a little different but from 2 days to 2 months that's a huge dessparity. They just released a new firmware for the device and I am hoping it helps with battery usage issues.
I really am skeptical on the battery life. Especially here in Minnesota, very scared how the cold will affect it. I’m hoping to get a decent amount of life before charging. On another note, for your google outdoor indoor camera, have you considered a compatible solar panel for it? They sell plenty on amazon and I’ve heard amazing reviews on them. I haven’t tried one myself since I’m lucky enough to have mines near powered outlets but those reviews have said, it has worked wonders. I’m assuming it’ll atleast give your camera another week or two in battery life so it’s worth a shot.
@@tz1592Honestly. I had no problems with it at all. I use my garage opener about once or twice a day and it records just about the same amount if not one or two events more. It has great battery life. I’m sure early reviews of battery life not lasting was before they had patches to fix those issues of battery drain. I haven’t had none of that yet. Through the winter I prob charged it once if not twice. So battery life for me was better than I had expected. I did buy another spare battery to have more fluid transitioning, so camera can be on overnight instead of waiting for another full charge.
Morning, thank you for your question. They actually have 3 different plans and their highest tier does support multiple devices. I personally chose the 30-Day multi-device plan because I want the 30 day history and some of the other features it offers. Yeah, that's no good for sure. They just pushed out an updated firmware and I am hopeful they addressed this but I haven't been able to find any information about the details.
You can hardwire a Samsung phone charger cut the cable and wire to pins 1 and 4 with the + and - in the right pins. With the battery removed. ua-cam.com/video/Q59h5dacpWs/v-deo.htmlsi=0LNRz4HpyTSBhZTb

Hi, how did the battery perform this winter in MN? I live just outside of Milwaukee. Thanks.

That's awesome! Thanks for the follow up!
The video quality is better than my cheap dashcam from China.🤣
Be aware of the battery life on this device, particularly in cold weather. Research before you buy.
Nice... any idea if MyQ subscription cost is based upon number of cameras it is recording ?
