I agree, it's very hard to clean
Nice video pete i have to drill my new carb holes out to where can I get a longer linkage and adapter plate? If you ordered it online can you share the link for me please I appreciate that thank you
Nice to see a 200 6 cylinder getting some love. I've always liked these engines and I always enjoy your videos Pete. Just one question. Why is the engine blue? Ford engines weren't blue until 1966. A 1965 200 6 cylinder would be black with a red valve cover.
Thanks Joe, but this is not a full restoration, and my daughter wanted blue...lol
Hey, this is my first engine i am rebuilding at the moment. Now i am wondering. How to adjust the valves of this engine or is this not possible. By most pictures of other engines theres a bolt or something to set it.
I see forward to an reply
Greetz Damien
There is not adjustment
@@PetesGarage okey, and is head miling possible? Because i cant adjust the valves.
You can shim up the rocker rail
Where did u purchase the heads? I’m also looking to do this on my 68 mustang
That head came on the car
I just swapped out my carburetor and the new one has a thermal choke. Where does the other end of the tube go? It looks like yours is laying on the exhaust.
The thermal choke goes to a heat riser that sits between the manifold and exhaust pipe. I don't have it in yet
@@PetesGarage Thank you and nice work.
I just bought the same exact carburator from Amazon ,how do you reverse the linkage??
I'm not sure you can
Pete, I have what I believe is an inline 6, 1969. It’s in my Frankenstein forklift. How would I go about finding the correct carb? Here’s the numbers I found on it. C9DE-6090-J. I appreciate any feedback
Would you say the 1904 Universal Carburetor work?
Looks like it's out of a '69 Falcon. That carb or an Autolite 1100, wither way you'll have to re-jet it
Hello, wonder if you can help me my car is using bit of coolant every week, goes down in the expansion tank I top up every week now, there is No visible external leaks, oil looks normal to me, there is occasional white smoke coming out the exhaust , do I need to replace the cylinder head gasket?, thanks in advance!
there is a test kit to test for exhaust in coolant. You might want to try that or ask a shop if you don't want to buy the equipment.
I agree with Josh
What did you use to clean up the cylinder head? Just generic degreaser?
Yes, parts cleaner
i just got a 66 inline 6 and the gas pedal was to low to the floor and i can't not get to WOT do i need adjust the throttle linkage?
Yes
@@PetesGarage thanks this my first car with a carb so i did not want to touch something i wasn't for sure. But i adjust the throttle linkage and it brought the gas pedal away from the ground
Is your hot air tube hooked up to anything on the bottom?
Nope....not yet
Pete, what was that soundtrack you used in this video? Really cool, would like to get a copy myself.
These are all soundtracks provided by UA-cam. Unfortunately they are not commercially available
@@PetesGarage Too bad, but it was fun to listen to as are most of your soundtracks. Keep up the very entertaining and informative videos. Thanks
Thanks Phil, I try to find good music that goes with the video
Hi Pete, where can I purchase new Auto Lite 1100 carb?
That's a great question. I have not found a source yet. Most are reproductions
I’m looking for a 200 6 cylinder head. Any ideas who sells them?
Those are tough to find
Where did you shop to get parts???
I do a web search
Where did You find the Autolite 1100
Ebay I think
Who was the blues guitar background music? Thanks
That is music supplied by UA-cam, I do now know the musician
Where can I get the Carburetor mount spacer?
They are hard to find. This one came on the car
Is the '66 done the same way?
Yes
@@PetesGarage Thanks!😄
Are you anywhere near New York
Buffalo
it looks like you have the wrong spacer plate for the carb.
I have been looking for the right one for this engine, it's out of a '68 Falcon
@@PetesGarage Depends on the carb. If you have the autolite 1100, it should be the Carb Spacer OEM Ford 144 170 200 6 Cylinder Falcon Comet Mustang More Pre 1968

@@PetesGarage Correction: I see what you mean now. The bore on the intake manifold 68 motor is much larger and the auotlite 1100 does not fit it. Plus the base plate for the 68 - 200 does not have the vacuum channel. I think I'm just going to go back to the holly 1904 carb.
716? You from Buffalo? I was born there. Live in Texas now.
Lancaster, but I love Texas
The bolts shouldn't be torqued dry unless specified lightly oiled on thread and the head of the bolts
Thank you

What does that mean?
Where did you get that spacer? Or what’s the stock number?
I had the spacer, I could not find a replacement anywhere
