This band never got the acclaim it deserved but had a loyal following. One of my favorite bands. Your only hearing songs off one album. I never thought they sounded like tool but honestly who can mimic tool. Listen to comfortable liar or clincher or i get it or vitamin R or jars or shameful metaphors or take out the gunman. Band has a large catalog with an ever evolving sound. It would be good for channel
Saferwaters is their best song IMO
If Deftones, TOOL and Chevelle started a cult I would be the first to sign up. These are my top 3 favorite bands. Next songs to check out from Chevelle "Closure" "An Island" "Choking Game" "The Clincher" "I Get It". Too many great songs to name but start there. Much love guys! ❤🤘
You're right, I get it! It all makes sense, you're the perfect person!
@@donkeyhodie8500 so right, so wrong Let's all live in your imaginary life
I was going to make my own comment requesting some songs, but you just listed most of my favorites. Any of these songs guys!
That's one cult i wouldn't mind getting involved in. Also, yes ive never heard a song by chevelle i didn't love.
Yes. Closure for the love of God
Love it
Comfortable liar is great too
Such a comfortable liar
Deftones "Be Quiet and Drive" is at the least a huge influence for this song. Y'all need to check that one out!
It's REALLY close, actually. The main riff is almost identical in tempo and feel to the deftones track. Love em' both! 🤘
It’s time for “The Clincher”. Definitely
Facts ...
They have such an amazing catalogue, hope you guys react to more Chevelle. You won't be disappointed.
Why would they reach acclaim. They were never acknowledged. ✌️
"Emotional Drought" by Chevelle, that one hits hard.
So happy! They are from Grayslake, IL which is in the Chicago area. They used the same producer as Tool on their last four albums, so you can hear the reason for comparison. The most Tool-sounding songs would be “Door to Door Cannibals” or “Ghost and Razor”. Pete Loeffler is the guitarist and lead singer. He writes the songs and comes up with the riffs. Their bass player left in 2019, so he also did the bass parts on the new album. I love the reaction to the growl. Pete has plenty of screams and growls in his arsenal. For CheVelle fans, there is a 15 minute UA-cam video called Pete Loeffler Vocal Range - it features his low notes, middle notes, falsetto, and belting. It’s great 😍. Thank you, Smokey and Hollywood! And of course, more CheVelle please LOL
Yeah, Ghost and Razor for sure. I was listening to that in the truck the other day and thought "hey, this song actually sounds a little like Tool, finally!" lol.
Another great one by them is called "Jars"
Definitely worth a listen for sure. Thank you guys✌
That song is so awesome
@@ArkaeaFCL3 I third this request😂
Vitamin R is in my opinion one of Chevelle's best songs
The guitar's chord progression used in this song, is virtually identical to an earlier song by Deftones. So good job with the comparison. A+
Absolutely. Be Quiet and Drive (Away). Still a good song but would love to hear them react to that.
They are from Chicago. Piistol Star from their new one. Hits ya where it feels goooooood.
that's the one i like
Their newest release Niratias is closest they have ever been to Tool'ish sound. If you really looking for that sound I recommend: Peach (the most Tool'ish approach), Remember When, Mars Simula, Emotional Drought. Love these guys!
An underrated Chevelle song is Ouija Board. Intense, full of energy, and so good all the way to the end. I feel like y'all would like it a lot.
NEW ALBUM IS AMAZING!!! Please watch So Long, Mother Earth!!!
CHEVELLE has New album, with Tool vibes, check: so long, mother earth , or Self destruct
Yes I love self destruct.
So Long, Mother Earth is my favorite track off their newest
ua-cam.com/video/qyRc8VvPqAw/v-deo.html
I'm seeing this band open for Korn in Madison, Wi March 29
Can't wait!
Another 2 songs they do you guys might like, The Clincher, and Vitamin R. They are neither Tool or Deftones to me, but all 3 are in the same type of genre. A band I was in we played this song, Send the Pain Below, we did Part Of Me by Tool, 7 Words by Deftones, Wasteland by 10 Years, Violent Pornography by System of a Down. Just heavy rock metal of the 90's and early 2000's
I'd say the 2 most Tool-ish songs from Chevelle that I've heard are Closure and Ruse. Stay awesome y'all!
As much as I dig like a lot of chevelles songs this one just hits some type of way and I always come back to it, it's the song that got me into them
Potions by Puscifer! My Name is Human by Highly Suspect! More Static-X and Mushroomhead too bros! And give Amity Affliction a chance
The fan made video for Potions is bad ass
This album is mixed so well
Chevelle has always had great songs. More chevelle and Deftones reactions would be great! And we need more Falling in Reverse! Would love to see you react to Champion, Rolling Stone, Alone and finish the trilogy.
Never realized the Deftones influence to their sound but I can totally hear it now that you guys pointed it out, that's dope.
Yes more Chevelle!!! There entire catalog is awesome. Also they have said themselves one of there influences is Tool.
My first car was also a Thunderbird! 1997 Limited Edition! lol
"Clones" by Chevelle is their song addressing them sounding like Tool and other bands.
Saw these guys at House of Blues in myrtle Beach with Taproot and 30 Seconds to Mars. Helluva show
Hey awesome pick guys, a much overlooked band for sure! They have some amazing songs too. Please do more
Tool and Chevelle are by far my 2 favorite bands. Are they similar? Debatable but both have that driving force behind their music and I think that's why both are relatable. The two songs you guys have listened to don't do enough justice on how awesome this band is. If you guys want a song by them to delve into, check out Door to Door Cannibals. You'll love it!
Point #1 is an early album and a great way to introduce you to Chevelle.. Skeptic has Tool influence. Numerous hits from this band...too many to count...
@Carl's Brother Opiate..early Tool
Tool's a great band that has their own sound. Deftones is a great band that has their own sound. Chevelle is a great band that has their own sound. The vocalists of all three bands can sing their asses off and go back and forth between high, clean, powerful vocals and growls/screams. That's the comparison.
Regardless, for more Chevelle, check out "Humanoid", "Mexican Sun", "Same Old Trip", "Closure", "Antisaint" or a few off their new album "Self Destructor" and "Remember When"
Their first album was kinda proggy. You MUST do Family System from that album
I remember that song, or the one called Forfeit, i think.
"Saferwaters" and "Straight Jacket Fashion" are some great songs
These guys have been around a long time and are still putting out music. When you guys did “The Red” I was hoping you’d get into them and do more. It’s been awhile, but glad to see you check out another one from them.
Guys react to Chevelle - Vitamin R!
If you want to hear something tool-ish i would suggest the song "Ruse"
🦋 I Absolutely Love this band! Chevelle has so many great songs. "Door to Door Cannibals, "Face to the Floor, "Vitamin R, or "Hats off to the Bull, Is all great tracks to react to. There isn't one song I do not like by this band. Also if you guys delve into the New Album Two songs that come to mind. "Lost in Digital woods" & "Ghost and Razor" Yeah I recommend you guys react to both of these songs together.
In my opinion Chevelle shares a likeness with Tool & Deftones within their music that can be Appreciated. Yet they still have their own flavor. Which keeps all 3 fresh with that beautiful unique flare each band posseses. There is Always something to Love within Every Single Song! This is why I ❤ Music So Much!
Fuck yes! Keep it up. Do "family system" or "forfeit" next please
My friend asked me what my favorite Chevelle song was one time. I said Family System before he even finished the sentence.
Chevelle has always been 🔥🔥🔥
Emotional drought is the next Chevelle song you need to do
Good one
ALL DAY
Excellent reaction guys! More Chevelle🤘
I just saw your reactions to Heilung and Wardruna, and I love that you guys are so open to the diverse music genders and loved seeing you enjoying them. So, I'd recommend Eivør - Trøllabundin for your next video 🖤
Deftones Est. 1988 Sacramento, CA
Chevelle Est. 1995 Grayslake, Il
TOOL Est. 1990 Los Angeles, CA
not many people reacting to this song. its a great huge influence that people dont even recognize. good reaction. thank you.
Closure, Forfeit, Take Out The Gunman, Jars, Saturdays, Face to the Floor, Point #1, Well Enough Alone, The Clincher, Vitamin R, new album Self Destructor and Remember When are solid too. Over 2 decades worth of unacknowledged greatness really.
Ive heard a couple songs off this album in the radio when i was younger. Just got into their catalogue and wondering where theyve been all my life. Especially considering im a Deftones fanatic.
"The clincher "
Emotional Drought is one of my favorites from This Type of Thinking (Could do us in). An Evening with El Diablo from Wonder What's Next is also a great one to jam to. Keep going into their catalog! Lots of great music.
Love me some Chevelle, great solid band. The Clincher, Comfortable Liar, Closure, Forfeit, Don't Fake This are just a sampling. Hope you guys dig into them. Got to see them at Ozzfest 2003, a lot of people weren't sure they fit in but boy did they bring it. Great live performance.
Tool's got 7 yrs on Chevelle... The first Tool release was in 1992 (Opiate) vs 1999 for Chevelle (Point #1). I'm sure they had some influence. I love em both!
Chevelle was on a few Madden soundtracks and was on the Punisher
"Remember When" off their new album Niratias has a similar Vibe to this. If you want to pick up a tool sound, check out Ghost and Razor off also of Niratias. There will be no question. G&R is a mix of Tool and Audioslave while staying true to their signature Chevelle sound. They're from Chicago by the way. Their engineer who worked on their past two albums is the same engineer who worked on Tool's last album.
keep om rockin' in the freeworld fellas!
Devildriver - The Mountain
Yes please no one ever does devil driver. Or tirades of truth, ruthless, sober, last great hate song! Do it!
One of my favs from Chevelle is Take out the Gunman. They’ve been around since 1994 and come from IL.
Chevelle has always been a cool band. It used to be 3 brothers and now it's two brothers and their brother in law because their little brother lost it apparently.
Boys may we please get some more Gojira (the way of all flesh )basically anything from this album. Or Jinjer A Plus or A Minus. Please, please please.
Love this song so much. It brings back so many memories 🖤
Their new album was produced by the Tool producer. Pistal Star or So long Mother Earth. They are from Chicago. They were a three piece (all brothers) but the bass player left the band. Please check out the new album!!!
One of the best three man band.
hed pe - Bartender
hed pe - Pac Bell
hed pe - Serpent Boy
hed pe - Wake Up
hed pe - Sofia
hed pe - Swan Dive
hed pe - Blackout
hed pe - Lets Ride
hed pe - The Meadow
Hey, guys. Long time, no comment. Imho, Family System goes harder than either song you've reacted to thus far and has aspects of Tool & Deftones. CheVelle is a badass band regardless. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎶🤘🏻🤘🏻
Chevelle is a great band. The Tool comparison only makes sense if you compare the Undertow album to Chevelle's catalogue. Basically, if Tool decided to just write 4 minute rock songs, they'd sound similar to Chevelle.
Chevelle catalog review definately in order now that the Tool compilation is complete!
I've always liked this song but it's basically "Be Quiet and Drive" by the Deftones.
Dude
all my dad drove were LTDs its what i grew up driving. My friend called it The Star Destroyer.
I heard "Thinking of You", by A Perfect Circle, at lunch today and I had to go back and listen to it, because playing in the background it sounded like Chevelle.
The Tool part is how Pete sings on songs especially Mia from first album. Musically it is definitely more like Deftones and that late 90s, early 00s rock sound.
Man I grew up on Chevelle. Even seen them in concert. They fire. Asking again, younguys have to do these! I can tell by the way unguys feeling stuff yall dog this list
Before I turn- Shattered moon ft Courtney from Spiritbox
Currents- kill the ache
Invent animate- dark
Oceans ate Alaska- metamorph
Novelists- after the rain
Chevelle! My Favorite band 😁 They have so many great songs, i don't know where to start. But they just released an album NIRATIAS, my fave songs right now are So Long Mother Earth and Piistol Star 😊
Hard lights having hurt. I send the pain below.
Much like suffocating
You used to beg me to take care of things.. and smile at the thoughts, of me failing…
You used to run me away, awhile laughing.
Much like suffocating
Then cried about the fact, until my returns.. but long before having hurt. I’d send the pain below. Where I need it
System of a Down- "Holy Mountains"
The newest album uses the same engineer as Fear Inoculum
This and the Red are staples in any live Chevelle performance. Seen them live 4 times now and they play it every time! I cant get enough!
Love them.♥️
Ive seen them twice. 1st time was beginning of thier start then couple years ago. Still great live band.
Chevelle is SUCH an awesome band, they are so unique and they have never turned into pop like some other bands (eg; Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons)
I'd recommend you react to Breach Birth, Piistol Star (Gravity Heals), The Fad, Lost In Digital Woods, or So Long, Mother Earth. (These are all by Chevelle)
This is the 1st song from chevelle I heard, been hooked to the band ever since you guys should react to “remember when” by chevelle great song
It’s cool, these dudes are from Grayslake Illinois which is close to where I live 🤘🏻
I definitely know who this band is I never really got into this band but they did put a stamp in a mark on the industry that's for sure
papa roach was big up here in New England and is still played on Portland radio stations to this day .
My 1st car was a 1987 Ford Thunderbird 5.0! Burnouts for days!
6:14 goes crazyyyy ❤
Clones by Chevelle really slaps too.
More Chevelle please?! Also, still waiting for a reaction to STAIND? Keep up the great work fellas!
HOWDY FROM NEW ENGLAND...A GREAT BAND AND A GREAT SONG..IVE SEEN THEM A FEW TIMES OVER THE YRS. AND THEY ROCKED!!! (TOOL CAME OUT FITST)..
BTW GOJIRA DROPPED A NEW VID A FEW DAYS AGO CAN U DO A VID ON THAT...THE ACTUALLY VIDEO FOR THE SONG IS GETTING BLOCKED SO DO THE AUDIO TRACK INSTEAD..THIS SONG WILL CRUSH YOU...THE SINGER/GUITARIST AND DRUMMER OF THIS BAND ARE BROTHERS THATS WHY THEY HAVE THOSE GREAT MELODIES...PEACE...
The Red by them is amazing
Checkout "Nice Shot" by Filter. Very similar in styling and feel.
For just 3 guys they put on a great show
If I remember right, this and "The Red" both came from Wonder What's Next. Always liked this so much more and still can't figure why Red got pushed as hard over this.
And yeah the groove is a lot like Deftones' "My Own Summer".
Maybe "The Clincher" next?
First time I heard and saw Chevelles music video for their song 'Mia' I honestly thought it was a new TOOL song at the time.
Emotional drought or take out the gunman are my two favorite chevelle songs. Both great songs
Closure, and Grab thy hand are VERY TOOL esque imo. I remember listening to Wonder what's next and thinking "wow, this band sounds like if TOOL and Deftones had a baby then went off and developed it's own unique sound. There's hints of both bands in Chevelle.
Chevelle. So Long, Mother Earth. Ton of Tool vibes. Off their newest album.
Listen to JARS...THE CLINCHER..TOO THE FLOOR...VITAMIN "R"... I SEEN THEM OPEN FOR STAIND...LOVE YOU GUYS
more chevelle please. my favorite band. listen to "emotional drought" or the live version of "an evening with el diablo"
Closure, The Clincher, and Vitamin R are Chevelle songs you must listen to.
My buddy introduced me to this song in high school and I've been a huge fan of them ever since!! Also u guys should check out their songs humanoid and straight jacket fashion fuckin AWESOME songs!!!
You guys gotta react to more bands like this, may I suggest the song Poem by Taproot
Chevelle - The Clincher
