I have a question: what if we refilter water that was just filtered? Would that improve the cleanness or would the stuffs that wasn’t filtered out with the first filtering just remain unfiltered? All in all, thanks for sharing such a scientific way to compare results.
Great video! Lifestraw has an insulated and regular water bottle could you test that one too? Also should test a plastic water bottle under the microscope as another control. Would be cool to see since it's claimed to be cleaner. Thank you!
It’s a terrible video. Comparing a water filter and water purifier is just silly. Both are totally different. And measure TDS as a metric for filtering is terrible. Also guy doesn’t even know that the Grayl is NOT a water filter
Please do this same test but with tap water! I know tap water is different everywhere but I feel like I’d be cleaner than pond water 🦠 lol I’m looking to get one of these bottles for my job where the water fountain water tastes disgusting 🤮
Don’t buy any of these. Fountain water the American made epic water purifier and epic water filter are the better option. Epic has NSF/ANSI drinking water standards 42, 53, 401, P231 & P473 for superior contaminant reduction so it is proven
Ive bought a HISOIT UV Sterilizing Water Filter Bottle im not sure if it has a uv light and a filter in it but it seems pretty good maybe you can review that bottle and see how it does against larq or more expensive brands as it was 20 quid compared to larq which is over 80 pounds.
There was a study where UV light filters are not very good at actually filtering water like a normal carbon filter, for a backcountry filter it really isn't a good idea.
Yea, I knew it wouldn't do any kind of filtering, but I was hoping to see some small microorganisms under the microscope to see if the uv light visibly affected them. Going to work on my sampling and microscope skills and try it again in the future with other water sources.
Pointless comparisons. You are comparing water filters and water purifier in the same test. Totally different. You keep calling the Grayl a water filter which it is not. To be fair you should do a bit more research and do the video again as there are so many mistakes it’s embarrassing

Wicked video man! Thank you for sharing
Did you use new, clean pipets when dropping on the slider ? You should have 2 controls. Plain pond water and distilled water also fyi
Thanks for the video!

Very interesting video keep up the good work

I'm planning to do a more comprehensive filter test video next year that should involve tap water, so stay tuned!

UV has been proven to be effective for a very long time
