Was Hamilton's move about fairness or team image?
It was fair he is not like verstappen in brazil 2022
Fairness, also it just means bottas also kinda owes him
It was very noble, especially he was in a title battle with vettel most the season

Bottas is an incredibly overlooked/underrated driver.
It would have been different if Bottas was a championship contender in that Merc like Rosberg.
@PBEcotaku he followed team orders that's what mercedes wanted, bottas obliged
He was not good for Hamilton in 2021 - it was literally two red bulls against one merc
Unfortunately he hasn't shown the pace the last 2 years, Zhou has been better.

Hard to compare raw talent across generations when debating the goat, but 4 major things stand in lewis’s favour for claim to that title. 1 - statistics, they dont lie. 2 - the duration of his time at the top, matched only by schumacher, 3 - the calibre of his opponents, matched only by prost, 4 - his sense of honour and stature as a good role model
What about the fact that Lewis was getting far more points per race, and was more likely to get points in a race compared to previous greats. Or the fact that Hamiltons first championship title is currently in dispute by Felipe Massa and a potential role Hamilton had in deciding crashgate. What about his implication in spygate and the way it affected the season.
All the things you’ve claimed in Hamiltons favour can be disputed one way or another, thats why he isn’t recognised as the best ever.
@@ISAF_Ace i’ll address each point you made
1 - the points system has changed drastically over the years, that metric statistically isnt one used to compare greats because of the gulf in the scoring system across generations.
2- lewis had absolutely no role in ‘crash gate’, you yourself have been the sole person to make that up here and now so that argument has absolutely no foundation. The renault team conjured that, and it was ferrari who made the mistake in the pitstop in singapore, you cannot predict the course the championship would take would that not have happened so you cant declare massa champion, even felipe isnt going for the title or trying to attack lewis, Felipe considers lewis an ally and asked for his support, he just wants financial reparations from the fia for not acting quicker
3- lewis had absolutely nothing to do with spy gate, nor did he gain from it, the fiasco arguably cost both lewis and fernando the title, along with their intra team rivalry, because it was a distraction on the team and they began to perform worse
These arguments are weak, very very weak.
@@lukerichards4135 Lewis definitely benefited from Spygate, given that he was driving an illegal car made using stolen data.
McLaren's titlefights in 2007 and 2008 were strongly influenced by them having confidential data from Ferrari. Yet the FIA simply chose to let them fight for the drivers title in 07 because they liked the title fight for the spectacle, rather than handing Kimi the victory he deserved given his competitors were in illegal cars.
@@doghat1619 that is factually untrue, the stolen data was taken after the 07 season had begun and was barely implemented into the McLaren set up. The factual events were 1 mclaren and 1 ferrari engineer stealing data from both teams to wager with a 3rd team which was never revealed. There was very little impact on the performance of the McLarens and the engineers involved were banned, this did not reach far into the mclaren set up hence why Ron Dennis wasnt banned (unlike say Briatorie who was for his role in crash gate).
