"We TRY to Start a Used MGB Engine" That is funny considering there are no "new" MGB engines. Rebuilt maybe , but "new" ? : ) And as to starting that engine... Remove the fan and generator... at least the fan. OSHA would love you !
What were you fiddling with on the distributor side of the engine in between trial starts? And what was it that fixed the non starting ? Was it just extra electrical power source you added that got it going?
I was moving the distributor trying to find where the timing wanted to be at. Once i put the jump pack on the coil instead of the small battery charger it got a hot enough spark to actually start
@@mgbgtguy I thought so…. I have noticed when my battery gets low, the engine will turn over but won’t start… good you got it running.. yes engine swap is the way to go.. will be watching
Incredible how smooth those early engines are. I thought he was holding the choke down.
Great video!
That metal fan blade would have cut you to pieces...Awesome! Maybe I won't bother trying to rig my Spitfire engine to run on the engine stand now.
I thought it would have fallen over with the torque !!
