A student of MIT came up with what eventually became known as the VW Concept 1, which later became to be known in 1999 as what we know now as the New Beetle. After that student won the design contest he was awarded a job with VW, but left after a couple years to go to work for Ford, same student also designed the new Thunderbird while at Ford. That electrochroamatic roof is insane. I can only recall one other car having that and that’s the Maybach 62, so the fact VW is putting that in a car that costs a tenth of the price is really cool.
I've driven this car before. Our company has an all white version with the back seats removed. It's super fun to drive around but feels a bit weird because you're sitting so high up and the windshield seems very far away 😅 Oh and since he didn't show it, it launches pretty good too for the fact that it's a bus!

I’m 6’3 and my family is pretty tall. Awesome to see how much leg room it has. To me, as amazing as the electronic wonderland is, leg space is my selling point. Sold

@@niklasmeyer9660 they did test & Volkswagens can lose about 30% range in the winter. Still leaving you with about 300km of range which is more than enough for Uber drivers in a city. Also the charge time isn’t long so just plug it in at lunch.

Really on my favourite list. A van that feels and drives like a hatchback. Lots of space and all the assistants for the long hauls. The only disappointment I have considering the current generation is that VW didn't use the extra floor space to hide a bigger battery than it's smaller siblings. Not that its current range is too short, per se, it's just that it's unused potential. Oh, and it could be fun if its artificially limited top speed could be turned off and on in the menu system. You know, for when you just wanna have fun seeing what it can do and don't care about range/economy. 😋
