Somebody please give Ponting a Kookaburra Kahuna bat. So weird seeing him holding a Gray Nicols
Great call
Lol
Facts 😂
True that
LOl. I'll never forget Ricky's final test match in Perth. Nathan Lyon came out as night watchman and is also Kooka sponsored. Lyon got the biggest ovation when he came out to bat instead of Ricky that afternoon. :D
Best puller I've ever seen absolutely world class could watch him bat forever
Best puller of the ball I've seen in my lifetime was David Gower. Ponting is right up there with the best though.
I dont think I've seen anyone pull as well as Ponting... absolutely commanding!
Greg Chappell and viv richards were masters of it
Swiveling on his back foot hahaha
@@samsearle4433 Rohit?
@@darshang1262 You forgot David Gower. He was a majestic puller and hooker.
Gill would be contesting this in a few years. Most comfortable I've seen anyone hooking 140+
Ricky Ponting. Great, great player. Great bloke. Pure class. 👍🏼
Yup, I'm an Englishman so in a way I kind of hated him during his career but what a player he was. I had to watch Border and then Ponting bash our bowling around the park for many, many years - as a local-league opener, those are the two Aussie batsmen I really admire that I've seen in my lifetime. Both finished their careers averaging over 50 in tests.
Pietersen has got such nice insights for the game and what makes him worth listening is his outspoken nature
Except when he overhypes his friends during ipl commentary.
@@rahulsrinivas3224e doesn't rlly tbh ur j hating tbh
@@haroonbostan9721 nah he’s not hating, Pietersen is the most biased commentator I’ve ever heard. They way he praised and praised root for playing aggressively this morning, calling it an absolute masterclass of batting when he was almost bowled first ball going for a ramp 6 then threw away his wicket for 40 odd runs when England needed him the most, Pietersen still kept heaping on the praise instead of commenting on the opposition.
@@lukedfluke no he praised the intent of going after the aussie bowlers even when they were in a rough spot and didn't let aussie take control
@@haroonbostan9721I am not hating. Have you seen him on commentary when Virat Kohli is batting?
As an aussie, surprisingly, I actually really like Kevin Pietersen. He’s quite humble and also informative. Probably gotten a bum rap in the past (excluding him sending texts about Strauss)
KP is highly skilled. Pontin is a warrior with talk and action!
Easy laughter that comes from an inner honesty is admirable. I like this guy and hope he loses the Ashes.
Ponting hook/pull were the best.. KP also played the short ball in a very stylishly and imperialistic manner
Yeah KP was alright, Except that time when Glen McGrath broke his ribs when he tried to pull shot.....McGrath only bowling 120kmh! :D
So amazing to listen to 2 absolute greats of the game discuss batting mentality and techniques. Makes me want to come out of Cricket retirement after 18 years not playing
Lol me too. Man I’m old tho 😛
Don't do it. It hurts
Been 25 years for me and I'm seriously thinking about it.
As an English man,Ricky Ponting Class Act
yes, the man we loved to hate during his career but his class can't be denied.
Pont played pull and hook beautifully
If your an opening batsman and you have 52 innings facing the same opening bowling pair every time and one of them gets you out 10 times in those 52 innings...Im not sure its as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be!
You make a good point, although the fact his average against that team is about 10 less than his career average, and 20 less when playing them away, that suggests there's definitely a real issue against them...
KP trying to rewrite history. His average against AUS was 44.95 not "50 or 60"
Yup. '50 or 60' he said - he's been dreaming again 🤣
The best of best Rick Ponting stylish fearless and commanding
People spend so much money for coaching these priceless masterclass from legend themselves ❣️
Pietersen: "I think I averaged 50 or 60 against Australia". Actual average vs Australia: 44.95. His ego is so big I'm surprised it fits in the shot.
Thats just what a blokes do, always over stating records, and he’s done it by 5, big deal… he’s achieved more in this content than you’ll ever accomplish in your life, hating for absolutely no reason!! Have some 🍟 for your 🧂
Tbh from 2005 - 2013 if there was one wicket the Aussies valued highly, it was his.
This is why they had no sledging rule specifically to Pietersen as it riled him up and he scored big.
I still remember 06 Ashes down under. They celebrated his wicket like anything and that Aussies side was probably one of the best ever.
If the Aussies fear/respect you then you must be that damn good.
Still good
That's still incredible against the golden generation of Australia
@@y45hwardhan79 would be interesting to see who averaged the highest against Aus during their golden period (95-08). Possibly Lara and/or Tendulkar methinks.
Retirement has added more speed to Ponting's speech!
Fascinating video , thanks guys adding to my cricket education, fabulous watch for all the kids , I’m a senior oap , find cricket a superb watch , never got the opportunity to play when I went to school that was for the U.K. privileged kid and we had to kick a football that was it , love listening to these lads, amazing education this for the youngsters
Both great batsmen and pundits
Lyon watched the Ponting masterclass before batting on day 5.
Every batsman has a bowler or two who might trouble them. The bowler doesn't have to be a great one. Sachin found Hansie the toughest bowler to face. Doesn't make him any less of a great batsman he was. Ponting and Peterson alike had their share of bowlers they found difficult. But that doesn't make them any less of a great player they were.
What a treat to watch
Great advice from Kevin...
Bloody legends !!
Nothing gets better than Ponting Pullshot and Tendulkar Straight Drive .
Gower's pull was poetry in motion - the best ever for me.
And Ian Bell cover drive
@@harismansoor5733 Yuvraj Singh's cover drives for me. Gilchrist's cuts.
@@harismansoor5733 Brian Lara was a better driver of the ball
I have fact checked KP’s claim to average 50-60 against Australia. He averaged 44, below his career average. Haha
Yup, all talk as usual.
@@Wally-H Pretty sure he's a thousand times better at cricket than whatever you do in your real life.
KP eloquent and insightful
Pietersen is great.
Love this content. Superb.
KP, Ponting and Viv Richards r my favorite batters, it would have been great if Sir Viv was also there.
8:01 - easiest and simple way to play spin!
Best pull shots player I love him
I dont even think Warner should be worried too much ......... Broad n Anderson are world class bowlers and taken crap load of wickets ....... just bat with positive mindset and thats it ......
Ricky Ponting the legend.
Great listening to these two!
Can listen to Ponting talk cricket all day.
Difference between Ponting’s Australia and Pietersen’s England where Ponting talks about support and Pietersen’s England describes it as a lonely place.
My batting style deviates from the conventional approach as I employ an open stance and shuffle across, reminiscent of Steven Smith from Australia. While I acknowledge that this may not be the recommended method, it is the approach through which I find success in scoring runs. Should I adhere to the traditional way of playing?
Ponting pull shot is trademark
I have seen comments of Indians calling cameron green 23 old kid as cheat!
Wan't it shameful for those indians in stadium booing and abusing 23yr old?
Rightly said, there's no more joy then watching India loss in cricket.
Yeah same with the way Aussies booed against an 17 year old Ishant Sharma back in 2008. Englishman James Anderson Pushed Ravindra Jadeja (then 25 year old ) on basis of his race, and most importantly how English media did the cover up for Anderson. I think you might have forgotten how Siraj was abused on the basis of his Race back in 2020-21. These are few of the incidents and if someone goes deep within, they will find many more.
Now that Tides have turned and Indians became a force to reckon on Social MEDIA, and moreover they are now giving it back on face to opposition, it's hard for people to digest. The Green's Catch of Gill was a controversial one and even many Aussie players vouched that, it's probably a bump ball. 😉 No-one (even Batter who got dismissed) was blaming Green. Instead they show their resentment against Umpires (esp TV Umpire).
Mind you its the same Green who got all the lauds and applauds while playing in IPL (offcourse money is there 🤑 ), and most importantly we do know how to treat our guests well (even on foreign soils).
Two legends of the game sharing nuances and all you could come up with is such an inopportune comment! Oh man.. Not the place, not the audience, not the anything.
@@Ashutosh-lw3cnaustralia 9 icc titles >>>> India 😊
@@RameshKumar-kz8er India won against Australia in Australia twice in 3 years, which Australia cannot achieved ones in a decade or so. 😉😉😉
@@TRoy098 Just coz it's been said by a white man, doesn't makes it a fine craft or something. 😉
It's not something which they didn't say earlier or so. And it's not like they are the ones who said it first or so. Salman Butt (ex Pakistani opener said it earlier). Many Asian Giants said the same sort of stuff. Even our own greats have vouched for their opinions on these matters.
See I'm not demeaning anyone here and both Ponting and Pietersen are greats in their own rank. But it makes me wonder how much we Asians seek the validation of the West in every aspect of life. Call it a slavery syndrome which blended into us over time.
I must say the new age media members are actually great at what they do
hold onto ur hats, here is kevin pietersen
Is this the one we hear in cricket 07
@@vignesshwarvenkatachalam7786 yes
i miss kp so much. the elegance, the stance, the aggression. Him raising his sleeves and flexing his knees.
Top class
(Probably copied this comment). But, I feel paranoid seeing Punter holding a Gray Nicolls bat. Yes, he's retired, but after seeing him bat, I almost feel like, he shouldn't hold any bat except a Kookaburra.
I think I will practice the pull in the morning.
Well that was excellent 😂
Ponting holding Gray Nichols bat giving me crows feet...
5:20 😂😂 ponting
It was a lonely place for KP because his own teammates hated him
Yeah it's a disgrace how they acted. He has even forgiven most of them and moved on. He's a really nice guy, but the English media needed to turn him into a "controversial maverick".
Remember playing with my neighbours' sons with mini cricket bats and squish ball in the living room. One earns a run every time batter steps on the ball at the pitch.😊
Amazing watch. Loved every min
I would like Punter and KP to coach my life
Damn!! Never realised K.P was so tall😮
Like that KP has is whites on… at least halfway there!
Great insights.
man that pointing pull shot, the only thing missing are the Australian commentators, RIP king
KP has such a pristine accent, which can be understood by anyone, even with a beginner's level of accomplishment in the English language. It is very strange because the other Saffers have a very thick accent and it is quite hard to follow. KP is the John Malkovich of Cricket commentary - you don't need subtitles. 😁👍
south african accent…
Both are very good teachers. Ponting with the edge. Masters.
Both very good people and very attentive
bro KP is genius
Pietersen looks ginormous
Pietersen flying little high, need to remind that 36 year old McGrath broke his rib with a short one lol😂 Don't get me wrong I love Kevin though.
That's why we say cricket is a great levler
Tbh he had the stones between his legs and sheer audacity to walk down the track to McGrath and treat him like a spinner. This is probably one of the most accurate bowlers of all time.
Partially paid off but McGrath had the last laugh.
Pietersen was quite something. I still remember his reverse sweep 6 against a prime Murali. No one would dare dream of doing that against Murali in his prime in a time where the shot was extremely unconventional (nowadays it's a standard shot).
Take a shot every time they say “intent”.
7:34 and a day later Root went forwards,… and got his first stumping. I guess root only watched the highlights of this video & thought Punter said he should try and run down the track. 😂
Can someone check on KP? He is probably confused because Joe Root dominated the game and destroyed Australia’s brain but England lost.
KP average 44 against Australia...pretty good but not "50 or 60" lulz he's full of himself.
Bhai yeh star sports waale kab laayenge aise pre-match shows🙃
Mental how white shoes are back in fashion.
ponting BAAP of cricket
Ponting should've retired when his average started to dip below 58..
Editor plz lower the music in the furthur informative videos
careful, KP might start crying about being bowled in his next book 😂
Warners just sorted his back foot out ,looks dangerous.
So Incerdible legengry Genius..
These short ball tactics these days try that to Ponting lol
Pietersen's insights are germane to him alone. Mentally weak. Punter typifies the Aussie grit. KP the worst of SA and Eng.
Who are you?
@@y45hwardhan79 A first class cricketer. And you? Watch what Punter says to him at the beginning.
KP's problem was that his team mates didn't like him. If he was struggling with a bowler and got into that 'lonely place' he couldn't talk to those around him to work it out.
In pure bowling conditions bazball approach scored 2 runs in 21 balls😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 and cherry on top is lost 2 wickets while defending 😂😂😂😂
Hey Paandi stop irritating others. Paandi.
It's sunny all day tomorrow though so they'll probably rack up a huge score then bowl under cloudy skies on day 5. Overheads make a huge difference in England. Can make the flattest pitches look like minefields, and yeah Bazball only works when there's nothing in the pitch for the bowlers.
Wow! What a shock! In bowling conditions, the bowlers did well!! Amazing insight right here! 😂
@@jehanariyaratnam2874 sule maggane, tell ur fellow Kongas and Paandis to stop itching others.
@@GIBBO4182 I think the point is that Bazball can only work when it's really flat. Not going to work in good bowling conditions, and hard to sustain on pitches with a good balance between bat and ball.
In England you need to rely on the weather to assist your bowlers, when the pitch is flat even though aus aren't scoring as quick as England, they'll take enough time out of the game to make it hard for England to press for the win just by batting normally.
And it's also shown that if there are overheads and movement around, they're not going to be able to use Bazball to negate the aus quicks.
1:56 50 or 60 again Australia?? Yeah, nice one Kev, talk ya self up, you didn’t even average 45 against Australia.
Bhajju pa… what a bower he was… he had Ponting for breakfast, lunch and dinner
third :)
STAY HUNGRY 👿
Is ponting wearing a piece?
Piece of what?
no people get hair transplants these days

After dissing shakib he got out😂 What a L
😂 Petersen tried to shift to another topic after bowled 😂 that was very childish though
It's called having a sense of humor mate
Pietersen loves the sound of his own voice. Boring. Don't give him so much airtime.
First
And also the saddest...
1:53 "I think I averaged 50 or 60 against the Aussies"
Kevin Pietersen averaged 44.96 against Australia. Honest to God one of the most overrated flogs to ever play Test cricket.
bro there are some balls where you better off defence and some balls to play shots...no wander they kicked KP out of the team and here he gets bowled anyway lol
Pietersen talks too much, but lacks cricketing knowledge that Ponting, Gilchrist, Atherton has got
Why Kevin Peterson is on all sky sports batting masterclass??? He is not even close to any batting master class. He was just a decent batter who had few good series. Pointing, Kallis, Tendulkar, Inzimam, Viv Richards, Kholi, Sangakara, Babar Azam, Miandad, Lara etc are master class and with all due respect NOT Peterson.
