Marcus Martinez hey that’s great! How is your unicyling going on? Do you do only uni or bicycle as well...... I hear a lot that bicycle keeps you a lot more fit...... so maybe you are doing both .

Lowkey such a wholesome episode. Just so many nice vibes, from the curious trucker, to the generous strangers, signing an autograph for a kid who probably idolizes Ed. Made me smile 👍🏻
I have a nice Black and White photo of that motel they stayed at when I travelled through there in 2010. I stayed at the nicer commercial hotel further down the road. Can't remember if it was a best western or what.
It’s not only amazing but I find it heartwarming that these complete strangers come out to find you on your journey and spend some time. Simply awesome
Goatheads are a nightmare out here. He should've put sealant in his tubes or at least gotten one of those emergency inflation cans of it. I have them in mine and never go flat while riding the entire tire life. I just check the tire after every long ride and pull anything than spin it to seal.
I have this weird theory that he actually just flys his drone to over there and parks it. Then flies it back when he passes it, that way he wouldn’t have to waste so much time
One of the best things with watching this series is remembering how many good kind people there are in the world! It's so easy just to start feeling like people are rude and sour all the time
How the hell did I not know about Ed ?!! I've got to here so far, and it's had everything, Ed is a special human being. This whole story is amazing. The fact he has filmed it all by himself as well is nothing short of astonishing.
If this series has taught me anything it's that the world is a better place than i thought. People from all walks of life just helping out strangers, sharing food, sharing shelter, sharing stories, for seemingly no reason but because they know it will make both sides happy. Heartwarming. Hope that Zhao Wei reached his goal safely!
What's sad is that this is true. Most people are in fact good and helpful. Obviously there are bad folks out there, but... Most people are pretty ok. So what is it that keeps us so divided? I have my answers, I won't taint your view with my answers to that question. But, if most people are so good, why are we so divided and distrustful towards one another?
This is one of my favorite episodes. Just all the strings that tied together in that restaurant was so cool. One British guy cycling around the world brings all these strangers together. Good on ya Ed. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store for life! Thanks for everything.
The feeling of having to part ways with someone that you've spent such an intense and hard time with, knowing you may not see that person for a long time, if ever again, is a really hard one. Sympathise a lot with this episode. A joy to watch and I'm going to start going back through some of the older trips when this series ends!
I've watched his entire trip and this isn't the first time he's had to say goodbye to a travelling companion, there have been quite a few and they were all difficult. BTW, he also met his fiance during an extended layover. What an amazing adventure. He's seen more of the world before his 23rd birthday than I ever will.
@@gvcarpenter60 It looks like such an amazing experience, I don't think it's something that would be suited to my personality but it looks incredible. I am definitely going to go back and watch some of the older stuff at some point.
You should do a Q&A video once the series completes. I want to know how much better you feel you got at cycling after going across the world on it. Also an update on your Chinese friend if you kept in touch. This series should give him some sponsor opportunity
Watching this was more entertaining and emotionally satisfying to watch than a Hollywood junk movie! Can we please get this guy an inner tube that can't get punctured!
Ed, I rode this very route in the summer of '19. A group of riders and I experienced the same puncture issue over, and over, and over, and over. Be thankful you only had one tire and therefore half the chance of flats! We had one guy in our group that set up his tires tubeless and didn't have any issues so I recommend that to anyone who also rides this route. Cheers!
You deserve everything you got. Your a person of truth, friendship, personality. Everyone you meet are there for a reason. It's to help you be you. I wish I could do this but I wouldn't have the patience or self awareness to do it
Whenever i ride my bike i get tired and exhausted after 10miles you my friend i salute you for the dedication you have, the guts and stamina is just awesome always take care Ed, have a safe trip at all times.. God bless.
I discovered your channel in Laos while walking and hitchhiking around Asia and Mexico for ten months. Now I'm just coming to one year walking and hitchhiking around Asia and Europe on my next trip. In this time your videomaking and storytelling skills have improved so much that your channel is now my favourite. Ed, I didn't find your channel soon enough - your trip is now over. I little mountain bike green slim and a liner would have helped a lot with the punctures. Love the fact that life enabled you to take this adventure and for a good cause.
As a New Mexican, I have two disapointments with this video: 1) You only got to see the barren wasteland of the I-40 corridor, I promise there is more to the state than just that, and there's plenty of beautiful areas, especially up north. 2) You didn't share any footage of a sketchy time in Albuquerque. I figure you had some interesting experiences there. I mean, it is Albuquerque after all lmao. I've been looking forward to this video for weeks now. Glad I got to see it :)
Ahh you know, I can’t show everything. We actually spent a lovely time with friends of friends in Albuquerque, but I took that couple of days to put the camera down an recharge for the road ahead :)
Dude you need a free solo style film about your trip it is amazingly worthy of one, for the tale is is greatly entertaining with recurring characters and captivating plot especially the dramatic rising action/ motivation with the car crash giving your trip a more profound purpose. It's amazing how the bicycle can unite individuals with nothing in common, but the simple bike. I would bet 99% of cyclists are overall great people. In all my years of cycling, I have only met a few that I didn't have a desire to ride with or even get to know. I would even say those 1% wouldn't consider watching your channel.

Sam, Marcus & the rest of your sidekicks rule... Thinking about '88 traveling similar roads in the opposite direction in a dodge dart after almost completing Camp America over in the Poconos... Camp Akiba!
I had a friend and LBS colleague who ran a bike shop in NM. They had so many unhappy customers due to flat tires, they ended up putting Slime sealant in EVERY bicycle on the sales floor. Was not an option. This helped reduce the number of irate customers returning their new bikes after, "Riding only for ten minutes and getting a flat!" But even then, flats were a problem. The cactus spines are notoriously bad on bicycle tires out there!
