    I see its an old video, but I'm commenting because I just saw this was included in the Olympics Tokyo 2021
    1 Can you camp in the key?
    2 Why is there so much advantage for the attacking team in the charge circle? Once the opponent puts 1 foot in there you can not defend and by definition not block out to try for a rebound. Its like the old goaltending rule if your team shoots it, you can tip it back in but the defenders basically cant touch it
    3 When you play pick up, there is always some smart arse who just throws it into your legs or to your hands really hard when checking the ball. (or right left high low whatever) trying to f you up or just grab the ball back. How will this format deal with that?
    4 Cant really see a loophole in this one but if you cant foul out how will that effect the game? (I'm sure there is a way to take advantage of this, or it may be part of the game like fouling to send someone to the line)
    5 Last obvious one to me is the taking the ball back after a opponent score. Are they allowed to defend you on the way back? If so, couldn't they just chase their own goal by catching it as soon as it it scored? If on their own, what happens? if at the same time as their opponent, is it a jump ball? and if not at all they are right there defending in the face of someone who is trying to get the ball cleared

    • @tomahawk-00-44
      @tomahawk-00-44 2 роки тому +1

      If I am wrong hope someone corrects me but basically
      1. How much I know there is a 3-second rule for attackers and 5 for defenders but I never saw someone call 5 second
      2.That advantage for attackers is when they pick up the ball inside the charge circle so when the opponent scores you picked the ball inside they have to let you go in charge circle as soon as you leave they can steal the ball and continue normally
      3.Pick up is check ball right? In that case, if that smartass can't pass you the ball normally the referee will check the ball to you for defenders (don't know if there is a penalty for defenders if they do that)
      4. You can't foul out but after like 9th foul attackers get 2 free throws and keep possession
      5. You can try to take the ball once they leave the charge circle but how much I know you can't block them from leaving outside the 3pt line
      If I misunderstood something sorry about that 😅

    What happens if the defensive team rebounds the ball then shoots it after the rebound (without returning the ball behind the arc)? Possession for the other team?
    Also, situations of illegal defense, is it a foul?
    TYIA

    • @FIBA3x3
      @FIBA3x3  8 років тому +9

      +Morbz Anubis Yes if the defensive team shoots before the ball is cleared, ball possession is given to the other team (check ball situation). Regarding illegal defenses, if you mean a team trying to defend in the no-charge semi-circle, a warning is given if this happens a 1st time. A technical foul (meaning 1 free throw + ball possession) is given in case it happens after the warning. Just to clarify, technical foul always means 1 free throw + ball possession regardless of the situation regarding team fouls.

    When the team is trying to resume the game by dribbling or passing the ball to a place on the court behind the arc(after defensive rebound, steal, block), is this 'defensive team is not allowed to play for the ball in the no-charge semi-circle area' rule applied? Or is it just only for the 'successful field goal' situation?

    At the start of the game
    If the offensive player is stealed by defensive player during dribbling, at the same time the original offensive player grab the ball back, can the original offensive player attack the rim without passing the ball?

    • @FIBA3x3
      @FIBA3x3  7 років тому

      Just to clarify, an offensive player never needs to pass the ball to a team-mate before attacking the rim.
      Besides, an offense player shall only check the ball with an opponent on a dead ball situation (never after a steal):

    What's so important about the "physical contact" rule for substitutions? Regular basketball has no such rule.

    • @FIBA3x3
      @FIBA3x3  8 років тому +8

      +KroMcLovinFaSho In 5x5 Basketball Rules, the procedure for the substitutions is completely different from 3x3. Art.20 of the Official Basketball Rule: “… a substitute has the right to request a substitution. He … shall go to the scorer’s table and ask clearly for a substitution, making the proper conventional sign with his hands, or sit on the substitution chair… As soon as a substitution opportunity begins the scorer shall sound his signal to notify the officials that a request for a substitution has been made … The substitute shall remain outside the boundary line until the official blows his whistle, gives the substitution signal and beckons him to enter the playing court …”.
      The Art. 10 of the 3x3 Official Rules of the Game: "Substitutions can be done ... when the ball becomes dead, prior to the check-ball or free throw. The substitute can enter the game after his teammate steps off the court and establishes a physical contact with him. Substitutions ... require no action from the referees or table officials". Therefore, in 3x3 the substitute can enter the game without going to the scorer’s table. During a dead ball situation, he simply establishes a physical contact with his teammate to become a player. No action is required from the Referees or Table Officials. However, Referees are very flexible in the application of this Rule, sometimes allowing the substitute to become player even without establishing a physical contact with the teammate. The most important is that the game is restarted with 3 players on the court. If 4 players are on the court in a live-ball situation, the Team will be immediately charged with a Technical Foul.
      The main reason to ask the player for a physical contact, is to be sure that substitutions can only take place behind the end line opposite the basket (as per Art 10 of the Rules). This helps control the game for the referees. In practice, there has not yet been a case of players being penalised for not creating a physical contact for the substitution. Players are invited to make the substitution in the right way at the right place and referees control that only 3 players are on the court with a live ball. If they are 4 on the court with a live ball, the team is immediately sanctioned with a technical foul.

    • @FIBA3x3
      @FIBA3x3  10 років тому +1

      Hello David, many reasons including the willingness to have a consistent rule for all cases when the defensive team regains possession of the ball. Also we felt many teams stopped taking risks offensively by fear of conceding a steal in the paint and an easy basket.

      If you were previously dribbling, this is correct.

    • @FIBA3x3
      @FIBA3x3  7 років тому +3

      If the game is tied after 10', the 1st team which scores 2 points in overtime wins (note: it is 1st to score 2 points and not a 2-point advantage).
      For example, if the game is tied at 20-20 at the end of regulation, the winning team is the 1st to reach 22. Reaching 21 in this situation is not enough to win.
