I carry my net much like you show, with the hoop up. A while back I discovered an added benefit to this configuration. I had dropped a fly right at my feet while standing in knee deep water. I remember thinking how neat it would be if I had some kind of retriever, so I wouldn't have to reach for it with my already cold hands. But I did have one, right on the end of my net. All that was needed was to plunge the net down to the stream bed and the strong magnet easily made contact with my fly. I can't tell you how many times that's come in handy for me.
Wish I found this a couple weeks ago. I found that when i zip tie the magnet directly to the frame of the net (without the split ring) the magnet doesn't move around as much. Makes it easier to line up the two magnets when your ready to put the net back on your back. Just a suggestion. But great video
That's how I have my net rigged to my vest. Have tried all the other ways and this way is the winner. Easy off & on and stays out of the way when hiking through brush. Good video on how to do it.
good ideas on the magnetic net set up and the rubberized net yes I have gotten treble hooks caught in net web i am switching to single hook inline spinners and other lures as well also
Since you're right handed, why don't you attach the carabiner to the right hand side of your vest? This will prevent you from wrapping the lanyard around your waist when the net is needed.
I got my magnet setup when I saw you using it in an earlier video called The Seams, on a river. Thanks for the tip. It works great. Good stuff...wow that's an expensive net lol. :-)
What I do is I just bought a $10 magnet off Amazon which works amazing to my surprise and just get a piece of para cord that is about 4 feet long and tie that along with the magnets so you can just pull it right off and never lose it because if you are walking along the river and snag a tree you will lose your net without any string or para cord
Depends how big of a net you need. A lot of the new nets are carbon fiber and very light, but yes. Get as small as you can and it won’t be as cumbersome
In terms of handling I know you want wet hands, make the picture fast, and minimal contact. How much does that reduce harm to the fish? In other words, how many of those fish survive handling if you do it all right?
Are you kidding me? You don't like to just let the net hang so you can trip and fall into the creeks? HAHA Seriously though, wow. This will be a game changer. Thanks for the idea.

Like the fact you show the fact of putting magnet on hoop of net. Much more logical to be able to grab handle from behind. Thanks.
Very helpful video, so simple but so effective!

What make and model is the vest in this video ??? J. Payne, Charlotte, NC.
My net came with the magnet, but I could not figure out how it would work on my back. Thankfully your video showed up on my search. Thank you.
Awesome. What vest is that? The back looks super comfortable.

I sell the lanyards. Go check out Everett Lures. You may or may not need paracord added if the length is correct with just lanyard.
Greit video, thanks! What is the name of your vest and the belt pack?
Would a smaller net be better?lighter and Easier to carry?

Great idea, going to give t a try.
very helpful indeed! thanks you.
And subbed! Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated.
I was also wondering how to reattach the magnet ... but it seems to find itself and connect without looking
Yeah you just have to reach around and find it with the top of your net. Usually works well. The magnets I sell on Everett lures are super strong.
great video - thank you!
Excellent vid! Very clear instructions. Thanks
Good video
I lost one wit it only connected to the Handel imma try this
Great Ideas !!!!!
Genius!!

Thanks

Awesome
Thanks for the knowledge!! Ha

Doesn't your back get wet?
MATTHEW JACOBS nope
Moving through the brush with a net hanging at your side wouldn't work. Good argument not to use treble hooks.
Never get the magnet to click back easily
ooh shi.........
a stretchy cable LOL its called a tether....
You are correct lol
Either way you knew what he was talking about
