- This is my garden patio pond. Hand made using decking with a bog filter on top for huge filtration and also to plant bog plant in the top. Plants are all new and will take a while to take. The Creeping Jenny in the top will spread and fill the top section, climbing down towards the pond.
I used about 30 litres of standard 5-10mm gravel for the filter. A 1200 LPH pump to pump water up into the top section filter. The water rises up through the stones and then overflow back into the pond.
I post loads of photos of all my fish & pond stuff on Instagram: @kierans.fish
Things I bought:
Similar pond pump I used: amzn.to/2wfkcno
Hose: amzn.to/2wJuC1o

Awesome job again kieran, you got any social media I can add you on?
Fish Are Friends Not Food thank you! Yes instagram @kierans.fish
I have to make one of these for our Sundeck. Is your winter cold enough you cannot leave it out?
This is a beautiful patio pond, nice calming sound of water trickling.
I really like the plants you chose, they really set the whole pond off!!.
I think you did an awesome job!😊👍
Thanks for sharing.🌹
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it

😊could you please tell me what plants you use for your pond?
How much creativity beautiful hits
That looks very nice.
So very nice. Great bog filter.
Small ponds can be so relaxing and pull a garden together.
I really enjoy looking at other peoples ponds and fish. I have 4 koi ponds and a fish room with multiple tanks. My ponds are surrounded by decking and trees. If you would like to view them that's great. If not that's ok too.
Thanks again for sharing and take care.
Very nice 😁

Just the idea I was looking for. Awesome work thanks
Thanks for watching 😊
Beautifully done
Thank you!
Very nice, now i've got the itch to build something similar.
HyPn0o thank you 😁 haha yeah it’s exciting
i would really appreciate an explaination as to how the system works, pumping the water from the bottom pond into the the filter box.
There’s a link to the UA-cam video I copied the system from in the description. The Pond Digger
need help have pond one air pump fitting 18mm I need to adapt to 8mm air pipe any ideas? The pump came with a rubber tube that is about 18mm but can not seem to find a fitting for my large air stone that has a 8mm pipe.6
It is beautyful
Thanks!
Please share how you built your filtration system. Would love to do something similar.
I put a link in the description to the videos I followed
This could be an ideal hydroponic garden, plant some duck potatoes and water chestnuts
Haha yes it could, I thought about that but the surface isn’t large enough, you wouldn’t beable to see anything else lol
Basically, an aquaponics system. Ever think about growing edibles in your media bed?
Is that really 500L doesn’t look it ? Or is the drum part of the system?
No just the pond box, 500 litres. It’s around 100cm x 70cm or something like that.
I only asked because I’m in the process of building a large filter for my patio pond and it happens to be 500L and it’s big as
@@benogrady3328 it must be similar dimensions to mine? I’m not counting the volume of the bog filter on top.
How many fish?
Do you have any problems with predators trying to eat the fish? It's a great looking pond, and I'm thinking of doing a very similar build.
Sabrina Bellinger not in England no, only the odd heron but I haven’t had this problem yet. You should do it, it looks really nice in the summer
What kind of goldfish are they?
I don’t actually know haha, but they are pond goldfish not fancy ones obviously
Amazing little pond. Did you make this (sorry if I missed if you did) I would like to make one!
Thank you! Yeah I did, with help from the old man of course
@@KieransFish it's amazing, pat on the back to you both. You have inspired me to get a pond. Although I don't have the skill to build one!
