The Lego Movie is one of my favorite animated movies of all time, and recently, one of the fan favorite characters got her own cartoon, Unikitty! Here are my thoughts on the cartoon so far.

The animation style reminds me of Teen Titans Go, but it's actually tolerable compared to TTG. (I don't actually hate the Unikitty cartoon like I expected to)
It is actually funny and good unlike teen titans go which mostly just sucks.

And I don't mind at all actually with this one as could have been a lot worst.
That's because the people who worked on TTG are working on this.
And actually made a show I can watch without cringing.
Tbh I'm really enjoying Unikitty. It doesn't have a story telling feel to it (as you would expect) but its a fun little show you can watch to laugh and just have a good time. The jokes and quirkiness actually work very well and is far superior to Teen Titans Go.
Who knows that Cartoon Network might use this as the flagship show in the picture
Possibly. I wouldn't mind though. Compared to the content they've been showing us as of recent, this is a major step up.

I saw a couple of episodes of Unikitty today and I thought it was going to be a loud and obnoxious show but I was surprised it wasn't. And the few episodes I did watch were enjoyable. So maybe I'll be watching more of this in the future

Have not seen the Lego Movie, but I really enjoy this show. It's almost hard to believe it's produced by one of the executive producers of Teen Titans Go. It's really funny, and Tara Strong fits Unikitty's characters really well.
You should see the Lego Movie IMMEDIATELY. Such a good film!
If Unikitty manages to score more airtime, I suspect that it will do much better than TTG. First of all, Unikitty is coming from something that's more new and memorable, which as the box office has shown, EVERYONE has seen at some point. While TTG has been running for a while, Unikitty is fresh and more recognizable to wider audiences, so they will likely tune in to see it in higher frequency and higher numbers. Second off, more people, including adults, may watch the Unikitty show because they actually like the character and want to see more, while TTG immediately turned away all of it's older audiences, be it through it's immaturity or it's blatant insults towards both old, longstanding fans and towards older viewers in general. Lastly, TTG has been growing very cynical as of late, from it's previously mentioned insults to the audience to it's active underestimation of it's viewer's intelligence, admitting multiple times that they don't care what gets shown and are just doing stupid things to keep stupid kids busy. Eventually, that contempt for it's viewers is going to come back to bite them, with more kids coming to realize what they were really watching and turning off the TV.
In short time, it may be the Unikitty show that dominates the mainstream on the channel, and this time, people might actually enjoy that being the case.
Some Dude I hope Unikitty beats Teen Titans Go.
It may be the hero that defeats Teen Titans Go's domination of the channel. But remember that, proverbially, one who fights monsters must be careful not to become a monster himself. If they end up overplaying Unikitty or rushing production, it may become despised along with TTG.
I'm no film theorist, in fact, I'm 12, but I figured out why Unikitty has a bodyguard (which is Hawkodile). it's not to protect Unikitty like Disney Princesses, it's to keep Unikitty from protecting herself. What i mean is that when Unikitty is angry, she's out of control, her anger can cause Soo much destruction, it could destroy the kingdom. But as we know, Unikitty is just your typical kid. She only does it when she's unprotected or to protect her subjects and friends, and of course anger. Hawkodile fights for her so she doesn't have to be so destructive. That's my reason.
but of course, there's nothing wrong with it, it's natural, Unikitty's parents must have thought about this idea, so yeah
Honestly I feel like the weird hyperactive style of Teen Titans Go! Fits Unikitty way more than it did teen titans for obvious reasons. (unikitty was already established as this type of character.)

Im glad that everyone likes the Unikitty show cause I like it too,it's very promising and I can't wait for more episodes.
My only problem with it is the pacing but other than that,I love it.

One of the things i respect the most about this show is that for a lot of the prominent characters in the lego movie you had reference to who they were, either by backstory in the movie or, like batman, by being an already existing character that people are familiar with. With Unikitty, she was kind of a quirky cartoony character that you had no backstory for. now watching the Lego Movie you'll be able to see the character in a new light because you can connect the character to her background.
Unikitty animation is like ttg ,but the style fits the show ,its a fun kid show with good action , the characters dont act like morons all the time.. except pupicorn but he is cinnimon roll so he gets a pass. Its not metta alot of times and its got a reason to be random at times. But hands down my fav characters of this show is lord frown guy and richerd ,frown is an atagonist who hates joy and happines, richerd is that friend whos just blunt

Richard's apathy and over-seriousness is hilarious in contrast to the more boisterous characters, and his over-simplistic design (literally just a block) is so bland that it's just quirky and very cute. And I always relate a little to the voice-of-reason characters when all else is wildness.
I like Master Frown's design as well, and I feel like he will have a very fun role in the show being a misfit villain, who despite his excessive effort to be "evil" has trouble being more of an ememy than an amusing companion. I find him to be a very adorkable little emoji-face man.
I actually love the show, my favorite character has to be Richard lol

I'm glad Unikitty turned out good. I think the biggest thing it has going for it besides the comedy is that it's not claiming to be something it's not. The only pre-existing character here is perfectly in line with her original portrayal.

PinkiePool GamerBrony9 I've been in Canada, where CN and all of its programming are premium. That, and for all the cartoon channels I follow on UA-cam, this is the first I've heard of this show.

I actually make the Unikitty/ TTG comparison myself, they do almost Everything the same, your I LOVE UNIKITTY, the difference, Character likability, When they have a villain, you want to see the villain loose, not win, When a main Character's actually do something wrong, they have good intentions and are not being meleshous, when the do give into there Id, they get punished instead of the Once calling them out being punished, Unikitty is a testament to the OMNI-IMPORTANCE of character likability, and in regards to the Unikitty/TTG comparisons, and it made all the difference in the world
thewalrusclown You're right. The storylines in Unikitty could be so awful if the characters were handled differently, but for me, loving the characters is a KEY part in loving a show as a whole.
Saw Unikitty today and expected it to be crap but I actually enjoyed it. Way better then TTG and PPG 2016 far as I’m concerned

I'm kinda "meh" on the show. It's not exactly terrible, but it's also not something to write home about.
Jay Infinite there are some jokes that are kinda dark and kinda unnexpected for a "cutesy, friendship-is-da-best" kinda show and its legit funny sometimes
Wow, it's almost like if TTG actually believed in actual arcs, consistent character archetypes, and avoid thinking lazy contrariranism/ironic shitposting in itself is a joke, people would enjoy it more.
As it avoids doing that all of that together. Puppy isn't some Karma black hole who has a dozen episodes aobut how he gets everything he wants while being a little shit.
The villains aren't given more sympathetic characterization than all the main characters' combined. When they use recurring jokes like Unikitty's explosive rage being a complete 180 of her attitude, they provide actual spins on it. Not just a flimsy parody to validate doing it again. (Seriously, there's like 20 "Robin is magically wrong from cheap deus ex machina" episodes.) And more dynamic fights, action scenarios, and better cinematography than the freaking superhero show.
Similiar to OK K.O. avoiding a lot of pitfalls Steven Universe has. (Not providing hard answers to character backstories that the characters themselves should be tired of stretching out, fleshing out secondary cast in ways that have conclusive arcs so they don't end up as mindless filler to people, etc)
I'll actually have to check out Unikitty. It's canonicity to the Lego Movie and it's spin-offs and sequels fascinates me. Also, I like Doctor Fox's/ Sadie's voice actress a lot.
MrMaximumAustin Me too. But as a Steven Universe enthusiast, Sadie's voice actress made me take a liking to Doctor Fox instantly.
I'd like to see an episode of the show where the characters go into another dimension and take on the Lego Movie style! That would be an awesome episode to me!!!
If Unikitty is going to replace Teen Titans Go, the giant stain on everyone’s childhood, I can see this being an improvement knowing that Unikitty fits the TTG style of comedy better than the actual show itself.

I'd LOVED The LEGO Movie and hearing about Unikitty getting her own Cartoon on Cartoon Network I was very Excited and after seeing the first few episodes I'd LOVED The Unikitty Cartoon

I didn't expect this show to get such good reception. I like the show, but because of the style and humor, and the fact that it's based off of, but also deviates from a popular fandom, I thought that it would be basically me up against the world. It's reassuring to know that there are other people who enjoy it.

The reason why mixels got barely any attention as because they were shorts, and they were barely put on the network because it doesn’t have time with all the ads.
It wasn't around until season 2-3 (starting off with Epic Comedy Adventure) where Mixels would have specials that were treated like actual episodes instead of shorts. Then again, people paid less attention to the specials as well.
I honestly wish there were more "episodes" during its run. I liked the lengthy specials.
Unikitty is Better than Teen Titans Go! In my Opinion
Funny thing is that this show was made by the same people who made Teen Titans Go. So, yeah they made a show that's better than Teen Titans Go.
Tbh I really enjoyed it . I swear I thought I was going to hate it. This might be my guilty pleasure for 2018 because I never really enjoyed the trope of hyper active characters that much. But it could be waaaaaay worse.

I gave it a chance, and i like it.
I brought up the "not in Cloud Coocoo land" thing to my brother and he reminded me that Cloud Coocoo Land was destroyed. So, maybe that's why this show takes place in a new kingdom
What I love about the show is that the new characters are not just random friends of Unikitty. They are her employees like bodyguard (Hawkodile), caretaker (Richard), and royal scientist (Dr Fox).
But Unikitty is the greatest character in existence, so I do not care about the others.
(Hawkodile and Richard are pretty great though)
Low key mixels and especially wild style(who feels under appreciated btw) they got overlooked. Mixels was on for years and never got a full series

I wish Mixels did get more attention. While it did have a good 3 year run it felt like it didn't get that much episodes compared to most other LEGO shows. Heck, it didn't get that much attention by LEGO or the audience compared to other LEGO themes which had some kind of impact.
I'm hoping some day in the future Mixels gets a reboot, and comes with new tribes and an interesting story/plot as well.

I saw the one with the giant robot and how they had to shut it down by exploding it's appendix, followed by a nice PSA about getting that checked if you feel extreme stomach pain

I'd really hope that the Unikitty Cartoon will replace Teen Titans GO Because Cartoon Network can't rely on Teen Titans GO Forever at some point it will end and at some ponit Unikitty will be it's New Cash Cow

Ive seen it and so far I'm really liking it. hopefully it'll stay good or at least better than TTG or PPG2016 since as far as the current lineup goes it seems to be a major step up

I actually fell in love with the show and to be honest I had a little crush on the villain of the show master frown
But in The Lego Movie, Cloud Cuckoo Land was destroyed, so it makes sense that they're in a different environment. Meaning it could be set in the same universe as the movie.
I think it would be nice to have some kind of cameo of The LEGO Movie characters in the intro. I’d specially have one where Emmet is in a park for recreational purposes... even though HISHE made that reference four years ago.
I was also surprised by it, it’s pretty good so far, the action scenes are done better than I thought they would have been.
When I first heard a Unikitty show was announced, I was excited. I really liked The LEGO Movie and the Unikitty character, so I thought it would be promising. Then I saw a few clips and I wasn't impressed. I thought it would be generic, bland, and obnoxious. Then I watched a few episodes, and was surprised. This show is really good. I finally saw the satire of generic kids cartoons in it. And I don't mind the character designs.

I’ve seen unikitty but the randomness works because it’s supposed to be. With ttg it’s horrible. With this it can be stupid because it’s unikitty.
This show is actually in the LEGO Movie universe, but we just didn't know until LEGO Movie 2 because theoretically, this show would be in Bianca's mind and not Finn's, or maybe it's kind of shared. I watched a good amount of the show, but I just ended up dropping off from it during Season 2. I wasn't watching it live, On Demand kept screwing things up, and the Internet was also not updating when new episodes were either, I just got a bit confused on if there were or weren't new episodes and what they were, but the show was great.
My brother would love this show. Unikitty is his favorite character.

Now I put this on in the background of my homework out of curiosty, and actually ended up watching the cartoon fully and forgetting my homework. The new characters are have good dialouge with each other. I think hawkodile and dr. Fox are a kind of generic pair, but it'd done well.
I watch the first 3 episodes and it was very entertaining I feel this and ok ko is my 2 favourite shows right now on cartoon network

this cartoon is one hell of a thing, when it got leaked i thought i would absolutely despise it since i expected it to just be a cashgrab where people yelled "i know that character!" at the screen, but from what i've seen, it's really not bad!

Actually glad she got her own show with her own little universe, cause think about it. Every character in the lego movie, you could tell from which theme they are comming from. Like Emmett and Wildstyle from Lego City. Batman from Lego DC. The wizard guy (forgot the name) some medival/fantasy theme.... but to which theme would Unikitty fit? Lego never did something like this before. Cause of her parts (and considering the ending of the film) she would not fit into the dublo lego and from what I have seen so far, she would not fit into the "friends" series as well. So yeah, I like it that she finally has her own place.
Also to everyone else, just out of curiosity.... do girls actually play with the lego "friends" series or the other stuff specificly made for girls? Does it bother you that the figures look extremly different then usual lego figures?

While it's definitely not as great compared to other CN shows like Gumball, Steven Universe, or We Bare Bears it's far from as bad as any of CN's reboots
My review about kaiju kitty had several refrences a voltron references and a iron giant references when they try destroying the robot the fly up and then the robot closes his eyes just like in the iron giant in my opinion a very good show my 5th favorite cartoon network show
Tbh I watched alot of episodes of unikitty and I enjoyed it it definitely decides to be it's own thing being into all the cutsey happy stuff and it doesn't do any fart jokes either

dude, shes a "princess". Correct me if im wrong but she also only gets very angry only when something really aggravates her, not when she wants it to. Also, hawkodile is a better protector/fighter than unikitty, because unikitty wasn't meant to be fighting anyone, that would make the show a bit worse. She doesn't even mean to lose her temper anyways, so yeah there is many reasons why she needs a bodyguard.
Paleo, I thought the same thing about Dr. Fox and Alphys.
