Hey, are you on Windows 11 or still using Windows 10, it's because I'm not able to install drivers for Windows 11, every time I try they fail and lag my entire pc :c

@@RodyGameplays Adrenalin 21.5.2 worked fine without any problem on my Win11 Pro, I’m not sure what causing the problem on your system. If you just updated Win10 to 11, then try to do a clean install. Or maybe you can try to disable the automatic driver install.
@@yezivid I tried everything, I had W11 since Beta, but today finally made it work, I installed but without erasing older drivers, and that worked for me, I stopped trying because I gived up after 5th W11 clean installation, thank you, now my graphic card is alive for a few years more.
weird, on fh4 it performs much better, and on other cards fh4 and fh5 perform very similarly, maybe because they ended driver support?

Im using windows 11 with 3570k and r9 290 asus direct ii and its crashes on desktop when optimizing the pc....
Looks like crashing is a common issue, mostly with the Steam version. You can try running it as admin, update Windows, disable antivirus, reset Microsoft Store.
Hope they will fix the game soon.
try running it windowed instead of fullscreen

how did you run it without latest version as 21.10.1 ?
Umm, the game said that my driver version is too old, but I just clicked on "Ignore and continue" (or something like this) and it ran perfectly fine. 😅

Guys run the game as administrator, it will not crush. Mine also was crushing and when I start run it as administrator there is no problem

Isnt there an option to not use dx12?
R9 is a beast, but it doesnt work well with Dx12
Just like Horizon 4, it's a Dx12 only title.
Actually, the R9 290s Dx12 capabilities are not even that bad, however the driver support ended in June 2021.
Forza Horizon 4 ran way better on the 290, getting around 60FPS in 1080p with the Ultra preset.
So yeah, sadly the R9 290s life has officially ended. Feels bad, because I really loved this card, just like my HD 7970.

@@dedon1777 Kepler was dead way before nVidia ended the driver support. 😬 The R9 290 still a decent card, thanks to the GCN architecture, but I meant it is dead because AMD decided to end the driver support. So newer games in the near future probably won’t even start or they will run poorly - not because the card is weak, but because no driver optimization.

how do you get your R9 on 21.10.1?
I used 21.5.2. Strange, it worked fine for me since the first try. I already deleted the game because I am gonna play it on Xbox, but I'll download it again and give it another try.
