JR, I used to work as a merchandiser from 2019 through 2023. A common scam that I witnessed was people buying PS5s with pre-packed games/code sheets, removing the game/code sheet and then return the console still sealed. Through an investigation, we learned that there was enough slack to unfold the bottom of a PS5 box to pull out the contents. It was almost as common as people trying to return Switches with replaced Joy-Cons and/or screens.

Wasn't given any more details then that. The only thing we could assume ( because it puzzled us as well how she could do that) was she emptied out the console to sell as spare parts, filled the console with some kind of weight before reassembling it and then proceeded to return it ( we were told it was missing the hard drive which doesn't make sense to me how she could take that out). Long story short because of that incident for awhile we had to open the tops of PS5's for awhile to make sure EVERYTHING was there lol.

@@picnsc you know the reason the base plate has grooves for the fin edges is to disperse pressure, less pressure less stress on the plastic (granted no one will play it long enough in their life time for it to matter) point still is they designed it so stupidly they needed to include a base for it, the only nonintented to be portable console i know of that has done so

I don’t see why anyone would pay $470, or $420 for a digital, for a used PS5. You’re only saving like $30 dollars, and you have to not only deal with having a used console, but things like wrong USB cables for the controller, and missing or incorrect stands to just use the console in the first place. All to save only a very small amount just doesn’t seem worth it all. Why do you buy these? What’s the point?
bro I bought a used iPhone 13 mini last week supposedly in "new" refurbished condition. There was a dent and they touched up the corners of the metal frame with nail polish! humorous to say the least.. I returned it lol

I remember getting an Amazon refurbished Logitech g502 light speed wireless and it looked new and when I got the Xbox series s it was Microsoft refurbished!
1st PS5: It should have cleaned throughout and made sure it had the right stand and the right control wire, too. 2nd PS5: It looks cleaner than the first one, and it should've been wrapped in bubble wrap before it got shipped. 3rd PS5 Packaged way better, very clean, and came with the right control wire, but wrong stand. 4th PS5: It's brand new, and it came in the actual box.

I never used any stand on PS5 and had it since day 1. I don't see the need of a stand, the bottom of ps5 is flush.
Of course I never pay $2,000 when I am better off buying a brand new All Digital PS5 with a 4 to 8 TB SSD upgrade sold separately might work this way.
