  • Just took a demo ride on the new Triumph Rocket 3 R.
    Southern California Triumph generously allowed me to take a quick demo test ride on the new Rocket 3R. SoCal Triumph has the Rocket 3 GT, as well. John is in charge of the Triumph department and is as good as any sales rep you'll ever deal with. You can also demo the Speed Twin, Street Triple, Tiger, T120, Speedmaster, and several other models. They also carry Ducati, Suzuki, Royal Enfield, Pre-Owned, a great service department. By all means contact them (even if you're not in the area).
    Southern California Motorcycles can be reached at 714-256-6700.

    This has got to be the most remarkable production bike made in the last several decades, if not in history. No other bike was as anticipated and also praised in my opinion. Glad I am one of the few TFC owners..

    My friendly rider ... you state, "it doesn't feel like double-torque..." HA!
    TRUST ME - you get this RHINO up to 5200RPM, flip the throttle and you will feel ULTIMATE TORQUE like you've never felt in your life on a 2.5L premium motorcycle.
    Ride safe.

    I've put over 150000 klm on two different rockets, the old ones and I'm on the fence about these new ones for one reason only. That short rear guard. It needs a guard to reach the extents of the motorcycle and be rid of the rear tyre hugger. Look better and protect you from muck and water being flicked up onto your back when riding in the rain

    I've got a a Storm with a supercharger (172 at the back wheel) so it's faster than a Rocket - but! The grinding of the pegs at every corner does get on my nerves - very tempted to go for the new Rocket - a bit of grunt with decent ground clearance.

    To compete with Rocket3, Harley now has to produce a V8, 3000cc engine

    Great job! Felt I was along for the ride. Would like to see an optional sawed off shot gun holder, it's got to be stealthy though, color matched.

    When you have a product like this, the best way to sell them, is let people take them to ride, anything else you ride in that style, will just be a disappointment, and they know it. What an incredible machine. I want to see the GT fully dressed, either factory or Corbin. The last fairing Corbin did for the old rocket 3 looked factory. Kudos to both manufacturers. And that thunderbird is tasty too, the two highest cc production bikes in their class in the world next to each other, 1600cc parallel twin and 2500cc triple.

    • @alp3781
      @alp3781 3 роки тому

      That will not work on me...LOL. My K1600 Grand America is my rocket, I mean, beast rocket. I would have a big dilemma. I am going to ride the GT. It is because all the loughs those guys on youtube do when gas it. I want to do the same thing.

  • @TheTripleDubya

    Yes "agility" is the word that came to mind when I rode one, nearly put it down because it just leaned into the first corner so easily, funnily enough I nearly ditched the Harley when I got back on it after the demo ride for the opposite reason !
    Superb bike with a slightly sharper than ideal ride but still better than some bikes, maybe the new springs just need a few miles before they settle a bit but yes, I want one, GT probably.

    • @poit444
      @poit444  4 роки тому +1

      Great points. John was saying that he likes the standard peg position because of the agility you describe. The bike felt more like my Speed Triple than my Storm, that blew my mind. I want the R, Red.

    • @poit444
      @poit444  4 роки тому +1

      I keep thinking "symmetry". Weight distribution, power, cornering, balancing, accelerating, stopping....it was just balanced so well, they did a great job with this build.

    • @TheTripleDubya
      @TheTripleDubya 4 роки тому +2

      Couldn’t agree more, I was struck by how balanced the whole package felt, obviously on a longer ride one might find a thing or two to niggle about but honestly I just want one. The other bikes on my upgrade list are more expensive and in need of some fettling, this thing, apart from some brackets for clip on bags is good to go as is, although some crash bars or drop pegs might be in order too.
      This to me is the Diavel, without the expensive service costs and reliability issues, with the volume turned up to 11 and shaft drive thrown in to round out an already great bike.

      Purchased a '22 Rocket 3 GT 4 months ago (have 2200 miles on it now), removed the backrest because I didn't like the "lines" now it's my perfect Premium Picaso for life -- THE GRAND TOURING MASTER OF THE ROAD!
      This is from a guy that's riding a '15 Gixxer GSXR1000 (0-60 in 2.3s) for 8 years, a '17 Yamaha FZ-10 (which I love). BUTT when I hop in the beautiful 100% comfort saddle of my Rocket 3 GT, I'm in heaven and it's as if I turned 21 years young -- déjà vu all over again ala Mr. Yogi.
      Enjoy, and ride responsibly!
