Hey Mark. Great review, mate! I am intrigued by this bike for sure. You seemed to get on pretty well with it and got it off the stand and moving around with ease, so that pretty much suppresses the talk of it being "too much" bike from the physical end of it. I did enjoy your reactions while riding as well! It makes me want to set up a test with my dealer and see what it's all about. I currently ride a '17 Trophy SE and a '14 Victory Vision, bikes that I absolutely love. Can the Rocket replace one of them? I don't know, I kind of doubt it. But you never know. This is why we test! So thanks again making this piece. Oh, and I agree with others, it was nice to actually see you. One could say it was "nice to meet you"! Cheers.

A Triumph was my very first bike when I was a teen... a 500cc bike built out of 3 wrecked TT racers. t cost me all of $250.00 and was a sheer joy to ride back then. Looking that this behemoth...a Triumph is likely to be my "last" bike.

Nice review Mark as usual. How can such a large and heavy motorcycle not have a main stand is beyond me, plus once again like most motorcycles today a very poor effort for a pillion seat as though no one is supposed to ride two up anymore just merely an afterthought I think.

I have been contemplating a Harley Fat Boy 114. Rode one not long ago and found it to be not the best on twisty roads. It has to be coached with effort into turns. But after reading and watching videos (such as yours) on the Triumph Rocket R I definitley have to find a Dealer where I can test ride one to compare. I kinda of like the over all looks of the Fat Boy over the Rocket. And I have a feeling the Fat Boy will hold its value better or not. The main negative in looks in regard to the Rocket, IMO, is the rear end of the Bike. I currently own a 2015 Harley Super Low 1200T and a 2016 Motto Guzzi V7 II Stone.

I must have subscribed to you after you made this video, Mark. Back in 2010, I test rode a Mk1 Roadster in Essex and wanted to buy it, but I was moving to Portugal, so I put it on hold. I like the Mk 2 R even better. I found the original bike very manageable, despite it being 40 kg heavier than this. I would dearly love to buy an R. You pay all that money and don't get heated grips as standard on the R version? Then again, I suppose it's not the kind of bike you'd spend too much time on in the cold weather.

Max torque figure is irrelevant, it will get counteracted by the gear train ratios. Torque curve is what matters most...

I just fell off my thrustworty 2001 honda cbr xx blackbird on slippery road, two broken ribs, ligament lesion at the right scapula, head concussion....the bike gets all the right side and front fairing to replace, I am wondering if something a bit less powerful or a model with some sort of traction control could be safer to avoid this sort of falls...thanks in advance

You would think that a Dealer would clean a bike knowing that it was being reviewed and therefore will be watched by thousands of potential buyers. If this dealer was in my area i would be of the opinion that they don't give a shit about presentation of their product or their potential customers and would go elsewhere. And finally, when you said, i kinda suppose you would put this in the STREET FIGHTER CATEGORY OF BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL. You are comparing apples with oranges mate.

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  4 роки тому

To be fair the bike was pretty clean when i got it ,the roads around the dorset countryside are terrible at the moment due to all the rain coming off the fields hence why it got so dirty all the best mark

why is everyone baggin on about the Torque?? WTF
So I am trying to see all the hype!! Dont worry i am triumph thru and thru! I really luv this bike! but?? I have a 2016 triumph roadster R3 which i luv! Why is everyone bagging on about the torque?? The old one (mine) specs are here for the 2016 R3 its torque was huge also..
Every person that does a vid on this bike talks torque, but the old bike was the same??
    Displacement: 2294.00 ccm (139.98 cubic inches )
    Engine type: In-line three, four-stroke
    Engine details: Counter rotating crankshaft
    Power: 148.00 HP (108.0 kW)) @ 5750 RPM
    Torque: 221.00 Nm (22.5 kgf-m or 163.0 ft.lbs) @ 2750 RPM
FYI BTW I have now increased the HP to 159 ( dino tested) and taken 16kg of the bike simply by changing the slip ons pipes!! So here is the question!! lets get real! For all R3 owners out there, tell me why we should upgrade?? yes its pretty, I had a test ride and its beauitful, but i need a real honest comparison, the old versus the new!! its has to be a minimum 2016 roadster! Lets get real, and give all the R3 community a honest comparison!! My current Roadster has the same Torque & its an amazing bike, but I need to be convinced to pay the extra cash!!

Good point you make. I think it's attracting new Rocket riders from the naked bike and sport bike club. Current rocket owners are already familiar with performance.
