Thanks for standing out in the snow and cold to film some awesome trains for us!! I always look forward to seeing your videos. You find such unusual and interesting spots to catch trains. And Norfie and Chessie are always the "icing on the cake"!
Wow, that snow is really coming down at Hamilton, thanks for viewing the switch heaters, and propane tanks. Must be time for you to go home and warm up. Take care & GB ! 😁👉👍👍👍👌😇
Your very lucky that you found a Norfolk Southern herigate unit with a DPU Norfolk Southern that was awesome. I found a picture of a Norfolk Southern with herigate unit at a round house in Spencer NC at the North Carolina Transportation museum. I like the CSX with DPU CSX and the CSX with the autorack cars that was brilliant Thanks for sharing!
Great video, hello from France. Thank you. ( Fabuleux trains Américain, très impressionnant, tant par leurs gabarit que par leurs extrême longueur. Enorme locomotives si belles avec une belle sonorité.)
Thanks for capturing the PRR Heritage Unit. The switch heaters were most interesting. I recall in the 1950s, the PRR would have groups of men placing small kerosene smudge pots under the switches at North Philadelphia Station (and other locations). At night it made for quite an eerie sight, as the complex switch matrices and approaches to the station required quite an array of the heaters all burning like large candles. Thanks for braving the cold and snow for us!
26 degrees! JT wearing an unzipped light coat and a Hawaiian shirt. Me in Texas? I'd be wrapped in a heavy coat and gloves and be hanging around the heated tracks. That's dedication, JT. Thanks.
very awesome, train and snow fall. thanks for showing us the interesting stuff beyond trains (heater) and glad you getting norfie fixed; she's adorable
Thank you for documenting these trains, Jaw Tooth! That was a surprise to see the Norfolk Sousthern Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage Unit on the point of the first train. The switch heaters really do the job of keeping the snow and ice from clogging the switches. Keep up the great work! I enjoy watching your videos!
Thanks for showing the switch heaters...hadn't seen anything like that before. Appreciate the extra and interesting things you include in your train videos JT!
Recall those old construction zone "cannon ball" kerosene lanterns that burned all night? Their cousin devices were used on 1950s (or earlier) era switches. Next in time were piped-in natural gas and/or propane switch heaters. Used to intrigue me as a kid while I was a train passenger near Chicago Union Station.
Snow on the rails?! Snow everywhere! Real snow storm with great big flakes. I hate it! I'm so southern. Keep warm, J T, don't freeze your tender vegetation. Great video, thanks.
Thanks Jaw Bone. Can’t believe they still run these monsters in snow up over. Now I have learnt what a DPU is I think I am ready to start driving trains.
On the first train, as the DPU went through and you zoomed in on it, I recognized the White box truck off to the right. I knew who it belonged to many years ago(3-4 decades ago). Their business was between Main St. and Cherry St. on Columbus St. in my hometown and I worked for their Cousin's lumberyard when I was in High School. Good friends of my family back in the day. There even used to be a Drugstore in downtown with their name as well. The lumberyard went out of business sometime in the 90s as well as the Pharmacy and I'm sure the rest of them are gone by now. Probably why the truck is sitting there now. Sure brings back old memories! Thanks!
Having recently subscibed, Jaw Tooth, not really familiar with much of US geography but am enjoying immensively your coverage and comments on US freight trains at so many locations. This 87yrs sits in my "Shed" here in the UK sharing your so well filmed events. Thanks.
I saw the Pennsylvania railroad engine on the front and, random fun fact, a branch of that used to run behind my house up until the very early 70s. It's now a rail trail/tow path.
Another cool (no pun intended) winter scene. ⛄️ Wonder why the switch heaters whistle like that, reminds me of the old tea pots that used to whistle on the stove when it was ready. Great snowy video !! 👍 👍
I love your train videos! I love your kitty Norfie! She is a beautiful cat! I love trains in snow! Your train videos are amazing! They emptied the yard for these trains!
Love your videos, Jaw Tooth. I like the little backstories you tell about the various locations you are filming in. Makes it more interesting. I also love the clips of your pets at the end of the videos !!
Couple of things he might add Train symbols like WWOT does. And what is in the trains & who it's for or from. There are a couple of guys in New England who do that. But still JT is doing great. Like his videos as they are
JT I want to thank you and your son for the awesome videos you give us for those of us who are unable because we are not near a railroad. Thanks once again. God Bless you both.🙏👍👌😇
A friend my husband and I bought the train depot in Navasota Texas and moved it to his property in Anderson Texas. He made a museum for his beer can collection, he collected and to do with beer and had cans from all over. Was a really cool building and quite old. I am not sure what happened to it he passed away a few years ago and I have been down there in years. I love the trains and your videos. Use to quite a videos of the old steam engines still have a couple on VHS
Good morning mister jowl tooth the switch heater I do not see a warning sign do they have warning signs I hate to see them to move the freight building but that's better than tearing it down and enjoyed all the trains looks like ya'll are getting sleet or snow again but the trains do look good against the White thank you for another great show a big thumbs-up a big thumbs-up thank you sir

Great news on the Hamilton, OH freight station going to be preserved! And top catch with the PRR Heritage Unit and DPU on that first consist; plus directional running. "But wait, there's more, 'course there always is" a second train with a DPU. You scored one of your all-time great videos...and that's saying a lot!

That was a nice catch. I haven't see a Pensy Loco in a long time. My Mom worked for the Pensy during WWII as a billing clerk.

Big PRR fan, love seeing the heritage unit. Grew up on the PRR Conemaugh Division, 26 trains a day when I was growing up.
Yes, and when the Harrisburg line would have a stoppage/issues wouldn’t you see all that extra traffic?
@@mshum538 Extra traffic only when there was an issue on the main line between Con-Pitt junction and West Pitt junction.
